Task 10.9 (Recycled Group Reads) I read The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith off of the Fall 2011 "Mysteries that Make You Laugh" list: http://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/52...

**GOODREADS AUTHOR**

While I liked the book a lot, I don't think it ever made me laugh?

And with that, thank goodness, I am finished! We are threatened by Hurricane Isaac and it would really stink to finish the challenge but not be able to post because the power is out!

Bea 20.9 Please Be Patient...

Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe by Fannie Flagg

This book was mentioned on the back cover of The Tall Pine Polka in a review:
"...Landvik's bittersweet humor and affectionate sense of place may remind readers of Fannie Flagg's Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe..." (see below)

I hope it is OK that I am putting both in the same post. I finished this book on 7/10/12.
