Jim | 21813 comments I love the uses my author thread has been put to, now I'll have to have it cleaned or the moderators will be on to me ;-))

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments Sorry is this not the indie author's councelling service?

message 303: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21813 comments At one point I had to check we'd not drifted onto Rosen's thread for The Troll Trap

Still it's nice to see the old thread bob to the top of the foaming cauldron that is 'Meet the Authors'
I thought that I'd have it done out a bit, perhaps even get some new curtains

message 304: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments New curtains???

I've brought a nice vanilla scented candle. :D

message 305: by David (new)

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments You must be triplets Patti, cause GL has the other two of you pole dancing over in my thread :-/

message 306: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Yeah, been meaning to bring a BIG bowl potpourri to your thread David.

Smells like arse in there.

Well it'll start this page off nicely, and perhaps even waft through to the earlier pages as well.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Yep and I'm gonna just move the candle over by the window...

message 310: by David (new)

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments GL organised the entertainment, I'm entirely innocent and looking forward to some kind of gypsy folk dance that Patti's twins learned in Poland.

Watch them curtains Jim

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments Bragging again ;-)

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Patti's pole dancing display has be shut down. Apparently it was making Vanessa blush!!

message 315: by David (new)

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments I stumbled across some of Vanessa's posts, and frankly I was shocked... Oh, this is Jim's thread, not Frankly's.

Don't let it worry you, no one else seems to mind. I'm afraid you'll have to drink your whisky straight, I emptied the soda siphon putting out the fire in the curtains

message 318: by Will (new)

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments You mean people put things in whisky?

What philistines.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Things? Like worms and insects and stuff?

message 320: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21813 comments Whisky with water, (and it was water from a burn just out the back of the youth hostel) was pretty good, you could taste the peat.
Probably hard worms and insects and stuff in as well

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Hard worms? Well I suppose they would have to be to survive the whiskey.

message 322: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments WhiskEy? Oh, you're in Ireland.

message 323: by Will (new)

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments Wonder what the irish worms are like? Especially if whiskey infused.

message 324: by David (new)

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments Do you have any Canadian Club, I'm not so keen on the peaty stuff.

I know high maintenance; Patti's already said :-)

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8051 comments Oh no give me a good Islay every day of the week.

message 327: by David (new)

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments Actually if it comes down to choice, I prefer a good brandy. Gran Duque d'Alba, to be exact :D

Vanessa (aka Dumbo) (vanessaakadumbo) | 8459 comments David wrote: "I stumbled across some of Vanessa's posts, and frankly I was shocked... Oh, this is Jim's thread, not Frankly's."

I have to pretend innocence, I have fans in YA and they may look in ;-)

I wonder if the nature of writers is in inverse proportion to the nature of their characters? Therefore YA writers are habitually debauched

message 331: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments And crime writers check their change carefully so they don't fiddle the supermarket?

And we fantasy writers are firmly grounded in reality...

message 334: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Ah. Flaw in the logic. Back to the drawing board!

message 335: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21813 comments Ignite wrote: "Ah. Flaw in the logic. Back to the drawing board!"

Which is probably just as well for the spouses of those who write erotic fiction

message 336: by Will (new)

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments Unless that's what drives them to write such stuff in the first place.

Jim | 21813 comments Will wrote: "Unless that's what drives them to write such stuff in the first place."

Careful, Patti will be back with more scented candles!

message 338: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Forget the scented candles. I'm here hoping for porn.

message 345: by Will (new)

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments David said the popcorn is here?

*looks under the table*

message 346: by David (new)

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments Actually Will, we're making a seventies style movie, in which a welsh man enters wiith the pretence of looking for popcorn. Patti then slips from behind a curtain and lights a candle while bending over suggestively....

message 347: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21813 comments whimpers in corner, 'it used to be such a nice quiet thread, no one visited it, and now it looks like the back rows of the Roxy during the late showing on a Saturday night.'

Rallies and hands out popcorn (caramel flavour)

message 348: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Not caramel! I'll get all sticky!

message 349: by Will (new)

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments Patti would never do anything so out of character David.

She's a teacher, you know.
