Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments You could become an international master criminal with no fingerprints, Jim.

Or a spy.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Some criminals went through the agony of burning off their fingerprints with acid to make themselves unidentifiable. The fingerprints just grew back the same as before...

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments i think the hardest job I've ever done was throwing bales into the loft. either that or clearing rocks out of fields. i never got yo drive the tractor, always got to walk alongside tossing stupid rocks onto the hay wagon.
still better than mucking out the barn tho

They do (well obviously I've never done anything stupid with acid) but when they wear off they just come back the same

I got the tractor driving job at the age of eight because I was too small to life bales :-)

message 1056: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments i was given the job of straightening the bales on the elevator at that age.
oh and cleaning the nipples on the milking machines cuz my hands fit in.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Bonding over farming jobs... how sweet ;)

message 1058: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21813 comments Be careful. Patti will create an author page for you just so she can burn the curtains and sin bin it

message 1059: by Will (new)

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments I was wondering if it was true, what they say about farm girls?

Jim or Patti want to comment?

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments I have an author page. Somewhere...

Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) (nosemanny) | 8590 comments What do they say about land girls?

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Its probably very naughty...

That WAS one of the things they say, yes.

Jim | 21813 comments Anyway a touch of class, (You can tell true class, it's when you keep dark chocolate digestives in the fridge during hot weather)

message 1066: by Will (new)

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments I'm a slob then. I eat them quickly, to stop them melting

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments I don't eat dark chocolate digestives.

message 1068: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21813 comments I wash my hands of the pair of you. I write to produce books that will encourage, uplift, educate, inform and generally raise standards.
And what do I get!
Note, that was not a question and therefore does not need an answer

message 1069: by David (new)

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments Chocolate, like red wine, should be enjoyed at room temperature.

Recently tried dark chocolate by guiness. Mmmmm!

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments You get a bunch of slobs and philistines, thats what you get Jim!

message 1071: by Will (new)

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments But do we need encouraging and uplifting, GL?

message 1072: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21813 comments David wrote: "Chocolate, like red wine, should be enjoyed at room temperature.

That depends entirely on the temperature of the room. Chocolate should be broken off the bar, not sipped out of the wrapper :-(

message 1073: by David (new)

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments You make a good point. Melt on the tongue is good, in the wrapper, not.

I promote healthy exercise

"he was pleased when Alrich decided the convoy would start early on the first morning, out of first principles. As Alrich said, “What with some of them hung-over and none of them used to the routine, they’ll need an extra two hours to make any sort of distance.”
It was soon obvious that he had been right; and also that he was right to put the Tarsteps men behind the Meor party. The Tarsteps men finally lost patience and emptied a rainwater butt over their still sleeping neighbours.
The ensuing fisticuffs didn’t last long and Alrich merely commented that washing in cold water first thing in the morning should follow a brisk workout, not precede it.But generally he agreed that it was something he’d recommend to everyone.

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments Jim is promoting cold showers?

Obviously he thinks we're getting overheated!

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Jim, you can so go off a person...

I must admit I've never bothered watching the scene. I know the scene exists, googled it, watched 15 seconds to check it was the right one, copied the link and closed the page :-)
I suppose that what with being the guy's stunt double I don't need to watch it

message 1081: by Will (new)

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments You mean..you are Colin Firth?

Put that one about and see what it does for your sales.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments I just thought of a joke too naughty to post.

Going to lie down for a while...

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Contemplate.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments It must have worked. I can't remember what the joke was...

message 1088: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21813 comments A nice quiet respectable thread where two young ladies take tea and discuss contemplation. Finally I may be getting somewhere

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Yes but its a bit dull, isn't it...

message 1090: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21813 comments Hang on, Patti's grilling squid over a fire made from burning curtains

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments I'll bring in some supplies from the spam thread. And some boobs from Darren's thread.

message 1094: by Will (new)

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments I want to know if the boobs are cooked or raw before selecting

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments I read that as spam filter at first!!

message 1096: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21813 comments showing your youth if you think of spam filters rather than spam fritters

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Jim wrote: "showing your youth if you think of spam filters rather than spam fritters"

Its bad eyesight due to advancing age Jim. I wish it was youth!

message 1099: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21813 comments And NOW, an announcement of sorts. Safkhet Publishing have decided to publish a book of mine as a paper back. 'Justice 4.1', a SF detective story, will be available for the delectation of the witty and imaginative at some point in March.

There's even a facebook page.
https://www.facebook.com/TsarinaSector

I would of course be pathetically grateful if people would go across there and 'like' it.
My cunning plan is to post bits of background, art work if I can get my thieving hands on it, that sort of thing.
