Sebastian Crushes...

Like I get that when he was good throughout the book people might've felt bad, but that was all fake. So really, he's 100% evil.

His character is getting less boring when he and Jace were attached together. I think Jace's wit & charms have mixed with his just evil character. It will be fascinating if Sebastian was written as a twisted confused mind, with more humane side. But I think it is totally not Sebastian and to make him more humane will contradict the story in the previous books.
Maybe he will be such an interesting character when something angelic is killing him, cast away his evil side and bring back his humane one. Surely he will exhale his last breath after that.
He's gross. Btw I know who might be a good Sebastian! Look up Leebo Freeman! He even has white/silver hair.
Is it just me or am I the only one who finds sabastians obsession with clary totes disturbing??. Like seriously that's just plain sick
Daisy97 wrote: "He's gross. Btw I know who might be a good Sebastian! Look up Leebo Freeman! He even has white/silver hair."Whoa, he's actually pretty hot..in his own way :)
I imagine Jace as Alex Pettifer! The guy they chose to play him in the movie is just hysterically nasty.
I feel like Evan Peters would be the best Sebastian ever. Look him up playing Tate Langdon in American Horror Story, I swear it's perfect. And I've always pictured Jace as Alex Pettyfer, but her turned down the role ;(
I imagined Jace like a hot person and in the movie is acceptable but he is not the person that Cassandra described in the books, handsome enough for all the girls to be chasing himI am kind of disappointed

I don't think Jace affected Sebastian at all. It was probably all a lie. In the end of the book you can see how he really is- and he can't feel human emotions, with the one exception of pain.
Yes, he probably cared about Jace and Clary in a kind of sick way, but he was using them. When Jace is himself and tells Sebastian that he absolutely hates him, you can see that he's hurt. And when Jace is split from Sebastian, again.
But that doesn't mean he's going to change. I mean, he did cut off a pair of angel wings! I don't thing you can burn away that much evil without instantly killing him...

to me he just looks kind of weak. I don't know if that's just me, but in the books Jace is always described as muscular or whatever. And the guy that they chose to be Jace looks kind of weak…
Jenny wrote: "...But that doesn't mean he's going to change. I mean, he did cut off a pair of angel wings! I don't thing you can burn away that much evil without instantly killing him... "I never thought of Sebastian as less than an evil. Even his own father was scared of his 'creation'.
I think he will come to his own human-self when he is about to die, after the sword pierces his evil heart.

Maybe, but either way I'll be sad when he dies. I loved him in City of Lost Souls :)
Sebastian makes me wish Clary wasn't hiss sister.
We don't blame you. He's attractive. You know, in a poisonous-forbidden-fruit way...
TheFeelsAreOnTheFloor wrote: "Not going to lie, I head-canon shipped myself with him......"

I don't care if he's evil. I've recognised that fact. Now I've moved on to saying he is one horribly attractive cahracter.

But Sebastian is needed to complete the story, to balance Jace, the angelic witty sarcastic shadowhunter... :)

Amen to that ;)
I hope Sebastian is beaten in the end. Yes, the character was needed along with his level of evil but still...Cassandra Clare could at least have left out the absolutely disgusting attraction Sebastian felt for his SISTER. I've read a lot of books with serious issues but that...was really unnecessary and gross. So yeah, I'm for the downfall of Sebastian.

I found the whole "attracted to his sister" aspect of the story macabre but intriguing. It gives his character a whole new dimension of not evil, but mental sickness. You really see how deeply the affect of his father's infulence and the demon blood he was fed ran. I feel sincerely sorry for him in this respect. He's a very broken human being.

Stop blaming him. He has an amazing body and that adds to his ego, maybe even makes him think Clary would want him for that. But no, he also wants her to love him. So when he didn't get his way by being patient, he forced himself on her. But HEY, don't forget that he STOPPED himself. He could've raped her but he stopped and it wasn't because she had a glass piece aimed at his throat! He saved her life and she even, also saved his life. I'd say redemption is possible for him if he was cured of the demon blood. I agree with Zooie, its not his fault. So can we focus our anger towards someone else, maybe alec, now? :)
Zooie wrote: "I imagine Jace as Alex Pettifer! The guy they chose to play him in the movie is just hysterically nasty."Noooo! Jamie is awesome!

That is all what we get from the story.
Sebastian stopped after Clary said no, not because he suddenly was possessed by some conscience, but because his job to burn down Alicante is not yet done.
Demon's blood is part of Sebastian. How in Mortal Instruments life would he be cured from his demon's blood since it is his?
Maybe by draining him of his blood?(practical theory).
Alec? Poor Alec...to be dragged along in order to protect Sebastian from being 'attacked'
Gabby wrote: "Alec? What about Alec?"I wonder too..... Maliha suggested for us to So can we focus our anger towards someone else, maybe alec, now? :)
Isn't the topic Sebastian? Maybe she forgot that...
I'd be angry at Alec. What he did was ridiculous and bordering on unforgivable, and Magnus was right to break up with him. I wouldn't blame Magnus if he never got back together with him, because I sure as heck wouldn't want to. :/
i didn't forget the topic, guess i just got carried away with my "crush" on sebastian. sorry. and as for alec, i just think he should've turned down camille's offer immediately.
Maliha wrote: "i didn't forget the topic, guess i just got carried away with my "crush" on sebastian. sorry. and as for alec, i just think he should've turned down camille's immediately."Alec's character is rather bleak. He was beautiful, but he is not comfortable with himself. Maybe because he is gay and 'already' fell for Jace, he doesn't want to attract any girls closer. It will raise questions if he is to deny every girl that comes to him. Or maybe he is just the opposite of his very-confident twin sister.
Alec is never an interesting character. His character comes to alive since Magnus the mighty fell for him.
About the Camille thingy....
Alec was totally insecure about himself, or about Magnus' love for him. That is why he made such a stupid mistake by being swayed by Camille. But Camille is also very persuasive.
Maliha wrote: "Stop blaming him. He has an amazing body and that adds to his ego, maybe even makes him think Clary would want him for that. But no, he also wants her to love him. So when he didn't get his way by ..."Um...I don't know if acknowledging the fact that Sebastian haulted before sexually assaulting his sister is exactly considered as looking on the positive side. Besides, it wasn't entirely Valentine's fault; Sebastian would most likely have grown up screwy even without the D-blood coursing through his veins. He knows right from wrong, the guy isn't stupid. He acted as if he cared about everyone in COG which gives the indication that Sebastian knew the difference. I don't want him to be saved. He needs to face the repercussions of his actions and all the people he's harmed. His ideas of changing the shadowhunter race and setting the world ablaze does not exactly give off the I-just-might-be-saved vibe. Just saying.
I didn't like Magnus and Alec as a couple. Sorry...but no. I didn't enjoy reading about them.
(Hope I'm not hurting feelings. I don't want to do that.)

Btw, I LOVE your profile pic! It's one of my favorites :)
Gabby wrote: "We all have good and bad in us, although Sebastian's Demon blood makes that balance uneven."I have the feeling that you are differentiating Sebastian and his demon blood as if there is a supposedly Sebastian without his demon blood and Sebastian with his demon blood. There is only one Sebastian in the story, the evil Sebastian.
The demon blood was consumed by fetus Sebastian and made him who he is now. If there was no blood demon added, then there will be no Sebastian.
Thank you. I liked this picture because it reminded me of Will and Tessa from TID.@Nurlely: Well, I wouldn't say that Sebastian would cease to exist if Valentine had chosen not to inject the blood into him.
@ no one in particular: Sebastian just wouldn't have it in him but it is a very high possibility that he would still be a little psycho. If he hadn't done that then maybe Jocelyn would still be with him and then Valentine would influence both his kids in a bad and psychologically messed up manner. But a lot of people are saying that if he hadn't been placed in the predicament then he might be a better person who deserves a second chance. Though that may be, Cassie decided to create him as the evil, Let's-blow-up-this-joint-aka-the-world/d-blood-infested-maniac creep, therefore, there is really no point in using the word "if." Bottom line: Sebastian is bad. His hopes of turning good are, well...hopeless. I, for one do not feel sorry for him. After Max's death that kind of killed the possibility of me ever warming up his character. Then after the Clary incidents, I was just done with the ewwwness of it all.
Shadowhunter Girl wrote: "...@Nurlely: Well, I wouldn't say that Sebastian would cease to exist if Valentine had chosen not to inject the blood into him. ..."There will be someone else, although it is not likely to happen. Valentine loved 'creating' powerful shadowhunter, didn't care what would happen to those who failed to meet his expectation. He would not happy to have common shadowhunter under his wings.
And also.... The Sebastian we know is the evil Sebastian. One who is needed in the story. There will be no other Sebastian.
I think he will be back to his human-self when he is dying. As evil as he can be, he also carry Jocelyn's blood. When he is dying from some angelic blade, his evil-self is drained from him and leave out his human side. I wonder if he will have a chance to repent...
Well, Valentine didn't have demon blood in him and he was still screwed up. Sebastian would still probably share a similar perspective on the Clave and everything else since he was raised by Valentine.
Shadowhunter Girl wrote: "Well, Valentine didn't have demon blood in him and he was still screwed up. Sebastian would still probably share a similar perspective on the Clave and everything else since he was raised by Valent..."Valentine was not all messed up before his dad died, then he totally lost it. They both are able to love, possessively. Valentine for Jocelyn and Sebastian for Valentine.
Nurlely wrote: "Shadowhunter Girl wrote: "Well, Valentine didn't have demon blood in him and he was still screwed up. He is not able to love. At least, that's what I think. If he is, then I don't think he does. I don't think it's really that he doesn't know how, but that he chooses not to. After all, he was able to fake kindness when he played Sebastian in COG after killing the real one.

He can't accept any ideas of Valentine caring about Jace too. So jealous of the idea. Because for him, Valentine is his father, suppose to be his only.
I think he could fake kindness because it was part of his evil plan, and he was to do whatever it takes to accomplish it. He was taught to act. He is indeed evil but he also is smart. He didn't care about the truth and the wrong, for he has only one goal, and that is what he believes as his truth.
I still love Sebastian, he's so hot...and amazing <3 and i love him because he is just that sexy and glamarous dark guy that i like. Jace has nothing on Sebastian, at least Seb isnt impressing anyone in particular ;)
I too love Sebastian, i dont care if he's evil, and i cant wait till City of Glass movie, just to see who they cast to play him. I dare them to cast anyone other than Ben Barnes. He's like THE perfect Sebastian. Did you guys not see his black eyes and his hair! He was like, born to ve Sebastian. I honestly think, he can pull it off, like real good I just began to realize that guys dont have to blond with blue eyes (or in Jace's case hazel) to be hot! *Swoons*

How in the Shadowhunter world can Sebastian be not that bad? He was fed with demon's blood. Even Valentine regretted 'creating' him, for he is all about evil. And he was reborn with the mother's of all evils' blood. (Demons' mommy)
While Clary and Jace were so in love even though they were 'siblings', Sebastian knew from the beginning about his and Clary's relationship and took advantage of Clary's confused mind. Even with that, Clary knew there was something terribly wrong.
Sebastian is evil. He is indeed needed in the story. What is so good about series with no powerful villain anyway? But that never makes Sebastian less evil than he is. He might regret all his doings, when he is about to die.
