No problem! I still have a couple of books I want to read this month from the list and that's good for me! I'll let you know when I'm ready for the buddy read. Hopefully in less than two weeks.

Tuğçe Gökırmak (tugcenidasevin) Hi Mounika, so sorry for the very late recs...
Hope you find something you like...

From Your Pickee's TBR Cupboard:
Chocolate Raisins - Can't stop at one and because they are fruit you don't have to! - Dream Lake
Nut Clusters -Call Me Irresistible - this was my first SEP and I cannot really call this a funny book, I definitely LOLed more than a few times and really enjoyed myself, hope that counts.
Truffles -The Immortal Highlander- definitely yummy!
Hot Cocoa - Lola and the Boy Next Door- I saw this one in your TBR, could be a good choice for snuggling up but you can also start with Anna and the French Kiss - the first one in the series

From Your Pantry Shelves:
Chocolate Dipped Strawberries - The Diary - I am not really a sweet romance type, you can also go for a SEP book, or a JAne Austen, one of my fav is Pride and Prejudice
Chocolate Fondue - Pleasure Unbound- just finished this one and if it is the heat you are looking for, this really has it.
Dark Chocolate - I can suggest Julie James books, Something About You or the next book in the series
Chocolate Covered Ants - Try it, you might like it - I think I have already done this but still here is something I loved, Fifty Shades of Grey
Buddy Reads:
From Their TBR - The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie
From Your TBR -Fools Rush In

MountainKat | 31598 comments Here are the repicks, they are also posted in message #3 with the original pairings. Thank you to my volunteers!

Dee picks for Polina
Elke picks for Megan
~KarenH~ picks for Mandy
Fran picks for Carolyn

Megan, you may end up with two sets of picks - Carolyn said she would post yours today, but since they aren't up yet I have asked someone else to make some as well. If you do, then you still only need to read one book to complete the challenge and you can pick from either list! =)

message 372: by ~KarenH~, Moderator (new)

~KarenH~ | 11343 comments Ok, Mandy, here you go!

From Your Pickee's TBR Cupboard:
Chocolate Raisins
- Here are the next books (I think) in a couple of series that you really seem to enjoy: No Mercy or All Through the Night: A Troubleshooter Christmas If I missed a book somewhere, feel free to read the next book in the series rather than the one I suggested! :)
Nut Clusters - Married With Zombies or The Hollow Chocolate Bunnies of the Apocalypse I don't know how funny these actually are, but just the titles had me chuckling.
Truffles - The Darkest Hour has a hot cover, and I love the series (I want a Kelly brother for my very own!) or The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie This one just caught my attention because I read it last month and it was something different that I really enjoyed.
Hot Cocoa - Dragon Bound or Desire Unchained Both of these were books that I really enjoyed and could have easily spent an afternoon or evening lost in them.

From Your Pantry Shelves:
Chocolate Dipped Strawberries
- One of my all-time favorite go-to authors if I need a case of the warm and fuzzies is Catherine Anderson, and a few of hers that I have particularly enjoyed are Annie's Song, Simply Love, and Baby Love
Chocolate Fondue - This one required no thought whatsoever. The Perfect Play (Play by Play, #1) by Jaci Burton Need I say more?
Dark Chocolate - Extreme Exposure and Out Of Her League are the first books in a couple of Romantic Suspense series that I've read recently and really enjoyed. I don't think either one is the best book in the series, but both are still very good.
Chocolate Covered Ants - I noticed you have very little straight contemporary romance on your shelves - a couple of good ones to try would be Simply Irresistible (or really anything by Jill Shalvis) or Virgin River. And since Robyn Carr is the Featured Author this month, Virgin River can serve double duty!

Buddy Reads:
From Their TBR
- The Mane Attraction I've enjoyed the first two books in this series, and don't know why I haven't made it back to it!
From Your TBR - Lover Reborn - I've actually already started reading this, but I'm only a couple of chapters into it.

I hope you can find something you like, if not let me know and I'll try again. Happy reading!

Also, could all participants in buddy reads make a post when they finish their books, it would make keeping track of who has read what much easier. I will be trying to keep up to date and posting lists in messages #5 and #6. Thanks in advance!

You already have it and I have no idea if or when my library will get it in. I don't want to hold you up from reading it! I may not be able to get to it until May.

message 397: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 7316 comments Polina- sorry about the delay, my dad needed to go to Home Depot which can turn into a whole day expedition ;)

Since you really didn't have a lot of books on your to-read list that were available (but lots due to be released in the next few months), I did a combo of both as well as some good reads - let me know if you have any problems with the books

1. Chocolate Raisins
so according to your popular authors list, Kresley Cole, JR Ward and Richelle Mead top your list, so how about trying either Lothaire from your to-read list or Storm Born which while not on your to-read is the start of a series, by an author you have enjoyed in the past

2. Nut Clusters
I find Christopher Moore to be a good read, so why not try Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal - I about had a car accident one day while listening to the audiobook because I was laughing so hard or since you have read Julie James in the past and rated her books decently, the 3rd book in her FBI series - About That Night that is due out today

3. Truffles
I love the covers of both of these books - The Perfect Play (Play by Play, #1) by Jaci Burton or Too Hot To Touch (Rising Star Chef #1) by Louisa Edwards - talk about steamy covers ;)

4. Hot Cocoa
When it comes to snuggling up, I love books that I can get emotionally involved in, so I have a couple of recommendations for you here - Firefly Lane (but you might need some tissues), or for something a bit longer and more in depth, how about either Outlander or The Winter Sea

5. Chocolate Dipped Strawberries
Nora Roberts is always a sweet read for me, so how about the first book in her new series - The Next Always or (although I haven't read this one), Georgette Heyer was known as the Queen of Regency Romance back in the day, so how about False Colours

6. Chocolate Fondue
I love books where certain food items are used in intriguing ways, so why not try either Hot in Here (Gelato) or Zack (you might never look at Cheesecake the same again ;) )

7. Dark Chocolate
I have gone on a real mystery/suspense/thriller kick recently and the first books in 2 series that I have enjoyed are The Surgeon (there is just this sense of realism to Gerritson's work) or No Mercy about a former female army sniper

8. Chocolate Covered Ants
I know you have read some m-m before, but not lots, so why not try Clear Water which some of us are doing as a Dare you to read this month or how about some fantasy with The Blade Itself or Kushiel's Dart

9. Buddy Read from your TBR
how about trying The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms - I have it tenatively scheduled in a challenge this month - I was going to recommend Lover Reborn, but I have it on reserve in the library and don't know if I will get it this month

10. From my to-read
How about trying The Shoemaker's Wife: A Novel which I just bought today or The Baker's Daughter?

Sounds good to me! I am not moving very fast with Lover Reborn though (still less than 20%) which is not typical for me with these books. So should we start About That Night in a few days, maybe Friday or Saturday? Or even later, whatever works best for you! We can figure out Faith & Fidelity later.
