Like, I ship Todd and Viola from Chaos Walking because I like their relationship. This is what is known as a "canon ship" because the author actually gave them a relationship. But I also briefly shipped Viola and Lee, and that is a "noncanon ship" as the author did not actually have them in a relationship. Kapeesh?
