What Are You Reading Now?

I'm reading this one too. I just started it yesterday but I haven't had much of a chance to read it. So far I'm liking it. What an interesting story. It reminds me of the movie "Equilibrium" starring Christian Bale.

Well I've got passed the 50 page mark (well passed it) and I'm still reading. (view spoiler) I wanted to see what was going to happen next but my train got to my station and I had to get off and now I shouldn't even be on here!

When I was ready to start another book I was nowhere near the computer to upload

I am also listening to

I may end up putting

A side note, I feel even worse I think when I really like an author as a person/blogger/goodreads friend and end up not liking their book!

That's why I don't friend authors. Given my style of reviewing (where I don't pull my punches), I don't like to feel that I'm being untrue to my review because I'm careful of the author's feelings.
And I seldom read author's blogs for the same reason (except Patrick Rothfuss who is really funny) or learn too much about their personal life. If there's something I don't like about them, it may interfere with my reading, like it happened with Anne Perry. Once I learned she was a convicted murderer (and what a murder that was) now I don't feel like reading her books even though I've enjoyed them in the past.

DG that is a good policy on all fronts. I should have not looked at his blog. I have no idea why I did. It was dumb. I think maybe b/c aside from Orson Scott Card, I have never had a bad feeling about an author after reading their blog -- I wasn't prepared for this.

Disturbing is right. Both of them should have been coming out of jail and/or mental institution right about now. No, I haven't seen the movie and probably I won't if I want to continue reading the series.
BTW...the series I like by her reminds me of Tana French books (LOTs of fucked up situations). That's why I think I know what's happening in Faithful Place because it reminded me of a couple of books in the William Monk series.
For you to be so bothered, he sounds like a jackass.

You're making me want to start reading Mnevermind! That sounds awesome, and I love JCP!

Mnevermind sounds good!! I still have to finish the PsyCop series tho.
I finished

I'm following it pretty good (my mind tends to wander with audiobooks). I think that's b/c I read the ebooks for the first 3 books and I'm familiar to the world. I've yet to really like like the voices to any of the narrators I've read so far (granted I've only listened to about 4). So, I'm unsure to even give a good opinion on if the audio is good or not. Hahha...sorry, Regina, I don't have a good answer for you.

I know! Every reference to them has put a smile on face. :)

Is this a YA book, Susan? I just read a couple of YAs this past weekend so I'm in search for some more.

I keep seeing this book and I really want to read it. Can't wait for your review, Susan.
Wait it's free... off to check, Thanks!
**note the cover change on this one. lmao!

The book sounds good. Too bad it's not a freebie anymore!

It's a bug that's been around for a couple of weeks and GR hasn't deigned to fix it yet.

It is annoying. I tend to check the notirfications tab in the right hand corner since I no longer trust GR.

I didn't even notice! But I see what you mean now. I see I didn't have any 'likes' for almost two days.

Onto my buddy read with Kay

...and what a cliffhanger that was! HOW MUCH CAN TWO PEOPLE FLIPPING GO THROUGH?!?
Let's hope that the redhead book is as funny as it looks like it might be. I think anything serious right now would be lost on me. What? You lost your house? Tell that to Dan and Vadim! They were in caves!

I'm only a few chapters in but i've smiled or LOL'd a few times already. I think this will be a fun smutty read :)

I got through chapter 2 before bed last night and it seems like it's going to be fun but wow it started off sort of hyper. Talk about full speed dialogue!

I need to work up the steam to get back to it. I should have never left it, you know when you leave books it is so hard to go back. Off to read your review.

That is such a good sign :) If you are smiling while reading it must be good!

Yeah, GR has been a mess for like a month... I hope they start fixing these glitches, notifications or lack there of are driving me crazy!
Finished

Wendy, you up for another Troubleshooter book soon?

I understand. This can kill books for me.

Have I told you lately that I love you Leea? At least there is someone else out there other than me who didn't give it a 5 star rating. Now I don't feel so guilty.
Random, but I also thought the use of stockings and business suits dated the story but I never checked to see when it was published.

I agree ladies, it does not work if the leading men are named after your children, nope, no way! Or Brothers, I read a book once with a Troy and I kept thinking about my brother, ewww!
Elli, sweetie, those are some emotional books. You might need something light and funny after A Stolen Life :) I haven't read it but I've wanted to, can't wait for your review.

HAHAHAHAHA!!!! Right! I had a bit of a hard time with that right after the book. I told my friend I needed something light so I was reading Insurgent. She asked what it was about and I was saying 'This war, and factions, and people being killed, and blah blah blah' and she was like, I thought you needed something light. I was like, you have NO IDEA how dark Soldiers was!
