What Are You Reading Now?

Well, if you decide to read Under the Never Sky later after you finish The First Days, let me know...I might join you ladies.

Thanks so much!!

Thanks for suggesting this one, ladies!

I agree Caitlyn. The poor cousin is a perfect description. I stopped around the 4th or 6th books in that series. The sex scenes are well written and there is a good deal of angst, but I found them too similar to BDB and every book was so ridiculously similar -- a woman who had no societal contacts and was all alone yet somehow marked to be a mate. Personally, I don't think it is worth you reading further.
Enjoy Dragonfly in Amber! I loved that book.
I just realized that I started the second in a series instead of the first. I am 30% in, so I will finish and I am able to understand what is going on, but it stinks b/c I know what happens with a love interest/enemy at the end of book 1.

Great! I am glad you are enjoying it. You are right, the beginning of First Days is addictive -- the concept of what Jennie has been through and lost is so horrific. I think this series would make a great tv series. I read this series before I saw Walking Dead and many of my criticisms of Walking Dead came from what the characters did in First Days to survive.

On your Nook Tablet?

I'm one who has invested a lot of precious reading time into the whole series. I started off thinking the books were okay and did compare it to BDB a lot! (BDB is still hands down the better PNR here!) After a few books in, I was able to appreciate the characters and world without comparing it to BDB anymore since the bad guys are pretty bad and the women with their powers were a part of the fight. I do have to say that I don't like the direction the author has taken with the last book. But I will still continue on reading since I've already invested so much time. Do I recommend this? Hmmm...well, if you like PNR with some cheese! Yes! But for more substance, I wouldn't waste your time.

Up next will most likely be

I'm so glad you are liking Heath. After you're done with this series, I will pester you to pick up her westerns!

I started reading

Awww thank you so much Kay, I am blessed to have her. Glad you are all well!!
Can't wait to hear your thoughts on "Avoiding" if you do end up reading it!

I loved the humor in this book and it caught me by surprise since I haven't read a funny book in quite a while. I also love the author's style of writing so I will be tempted to buy more by her. But probably will proceed with a little more caution and research for each book that I want to read.

I've read a few of her Westerns, and I agree, they're good :D

That one's been on my to-ponder list for awhile now, I think I'm going to bump it up to more of a priority, keep hearing good things about it :)

I'm going to read

And a second yay (hey, I don't squee but I do yay) for Under the Never Sky.
Finished

Wow, I've never seen that cover of Under the Never Sky. I think I like it more.
YES,

Stacia, I'm going to try to squeeze that in this weekend, Every Day, because I need something that's more of a serious book (and it sounds like it might be?). So I'll definitely let you know what I think of it.

Uh ohhh, be ready Wendy and Stacia... We may have to read this one sooner than later :) Now who's being pushy. hehe!

Yes. I would love for them to end up together. (view spoiler)

Oh, Kay. i'm sorry we changed our plans and started Fighting to Survive. I know i'll be reading this early next week. Can't wait to hear what you think ;)

No worries, Leea! I'll be here when you want to discuss about it :)

I'm going to have to quit my job and become a full time reader.

I started and finished last night

Angie, it has the theme you like --hotter older brother and younger sister.
I liked the romance part, although things happened too quickly and conveniently. It also had my most hated method of telling a story -- the bad guys' POV. I am thinking slightly less than 3 stars. I got it from NG. I likely won't read the sequel (which I also got from NG). But I was interested enough to finish it in one night, I did skim quite a bit too.
