Hello ladies.
So, seeing as we're all into books I was just wondering what you were all reading at the moment.

As for me, I took the lovely Soph's advice & and am re-reading Northanger Abbey (an Austen, what else - I'll get onto another author soon). And it's a great experience because it's been so long since I last read it that I can't remember a lot of the details & dialogue so it feels as if I'm reading an Austen for the first time. Which is a huge deal as she only wrote 6 books and it doesn't take long to get through them :(

Oh Stephanie!! As my recommendations seem to be going down ( ;) ) well (which I am glad of ;) ) I recommend p and p!! It's amazing and the one I started with :D though, which is our fav adaptation/fav story?

Stephanie: I agree with Soph, start with P&P, or NA, but prolly P&P. :) btw, how is Dickens these days? ;) havent read him in awhile. ;P

Already read all of Austen's. Totally wish she wrote more:) So now I'm reading Beowulf(for school) and The Screwtape Letters(on my own) I'm really enjoying both!

I am SO looking forward to Oliver Twist! when I was about 8, the Great Illustrated Classic of that was my favorite book and I read it over and over! ;)

I want to read Oliver Twist as well, but I think my next Dickens will be Little Dorrit simply because I want to watch the adaptation of it as Macfadyen's in it ;) Although I've heard it's a bit of a tough read :S

Hhhh u haven't seen Little Dorrit???? Shock! L I didn't like the bad guy much and there was one or two "ew" parts, but it was mostly gr8!!!!

Yeah, I know, but I have this thing where I have to read the book before seeing the adaptation if I can help it.

Oh, I'm the same way! I read several of Elizabeth Gaskell's books after seeing the movies and loved them, and then I tried to read Cranford, but couldn't get passed the fact that I wasn't able to picture the characters, so I set it aside for future reading (and now I have seen Cranford and LOVED it!)

I've never read Gaskell's books. Not completely anyway. Picked up North & South but didn't finish it before the due date. Will have to get back to that one again I think.

Haha yup ;) But I definitely like classic lit anyway so I don't really need much of a push but a visual adaptation's always a good bonus.

LOL currently I am reading "When the Heaven's Fall" by Gilbert Morris; GREAT BOOK SERIES! but wouldn't recommend for children. ;P lol its really good though! set during the Reformation/Elizabethan era. :)
