Sheila (sheilaj) | 2221 comments 500 Points is very respectable Anne. You write such good reviews.

I'm retired which helps a lot in being able to finish the challenge. I don't know how anyone who is still working ever does it.

It is really difficult to tell how far people have gotten the way the points are set up. For example you could read 10 books that are all 5 pointers and only show 50 points or those same 10 books could be for 30 pointers and you would have 150 points. It is hard to tell how many more tasks people have to complete to finish. Several people are pretty close.

Clear as mud?

5.8 Too Long To-Do List
I've been meaning to read The Magician's Nephew for years now - and finally got to it.

10.1. Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!

I read I Moved Your Cheese: For Those Who Refuse to Live as Mice in Someone Else's Maze. Live is evil spelled backwards.

10.7. Fuel to the Fire
I read House of Thieves by Kaui Hart Hemmings. She was a new author for me in the winter challenge.

10.9. I’m On Fire! Read a book that you're "hot" to read.
I read Capitol Murder: A Novel of Suspense. I had read the first two books in this trilogy, so was very eager to read the third when it came out in April.

15.1 - Spring Forward
For my first book, I read Life as We Knew It, listed as post apocalytic and dystopia.

For my second book, I read The Poisoner's Handbook: Murder and the Birth of Forensic Medicine in Jazz Age New York - this was set during the 1920's and 1930's.

20.6. Seasoned Reader: Jennifer W’s task- She Works Hard for the Money
I rolled a 6, so read a book in which a writer is a main character - Death of a Cozy Writer

30.1 Ms. Anderson's Task: We Didn't Start the Fire
I chose the year 1951, and rolled a 2 and a 4.

For 2, author born in 1951, I read Those Who Hunt the Night by Barbara Hambly, born 8/28/51.

For 4, book published in 1951, I read Foundation

50.1. Cindy AL's Task: North to Alaska
When I started looking at this task, I realized that I had not read the last 3 books in Dana Stabenow's Kate Shugak series - what could be more perfect.
And, all three books fit all 3 options!

Option 1 - A Night Too Dark by Dana Stabenow. Initials "DS" in SEWARDSFOLLY.

Option 2 - Though Not Dead. Mystery is the top genre listed for the book.

Option 6 - Restless In The Grave. The book is set in Alaska, and Dana Stabenow is an Alaskan author.

Total points - 1090

Looking at the Readerboard, it looks like so many people did so good this season. I bet we had a lot of folks achieve their personal bests this spring. I guess that is a statistic that the moderators can't track. It would be interesting to know though.
