Julius (bookseeker007) | 1781 comments Mod
A Mac. They are far more dependable.

Do you like the blues?

message 209: by Jonathan , The Wise (new)

Jonathan Terrington (thewritestuff) | 457 comments Mod
Hmmm I don't find Macs more dependable but neither do I like PCs. I basically find they both work relatively similarly. Macs working better for artistic graphics things and PCs working fine for daily activities. (But seriously no computer should be worth 1,600 dollars)

Yes I do like the blues (music you're talking) from time to time. I have an uncle who plays them.

Do you get on lots of tangents?

Well, I suppose it depends on which meaning for tangent you're talking about. If you are making reference to the meaning- making contact at a single point or whatnot- then yes, after a fashion...

Are you very active physically?

Are you laughed at often?

message 219: by Julius, He Who Arises in Might (:D) (new)

Well, no, and then again yes but not in a bad way. Most of my friends simply think I am funny.

Well, what era of history are you referring to? Is there a specific timespace in the continueum of history? :)

Q: Are you insane? (has this been asked b4? O.o)

message 221: by Julius, He Who Arises in Might (:D) (new)

Julius (bookseeker007) | 1781 comments Mod
I am referring to ancient history. As in the time period of Nebuchadnezzar, or Attila the Hun, or Julius Ceaser. Those times. Not World War I or I I.
And no, I am not insane.

Lavender oil - lavender is considered to be particularly effective against flies
Citronella oil
Eucalyptus oil
Pennyroyal oil
Peppermint oil (likely more effective against mosquitoes but also considered to work against horse-flies.
Lemongrass oil

Yeah I believe he does play slide guitar. What is interesting is that my uncle has made himself some guitars and stuff too.

In response to your unanswered question I am generally very physically active. I think I may have slightly tweaked my hamstring today unfortunately...

Now to get back on track. I love seafood. When we went cruising I ate mostly seafood...

Ahhh, come now. How can one choose only one answer to that? I am fond of Alan Doyle from Great Big Sea, I am fond of Guy Davis the blues man, I like certain works of Seal, I like certain works of Joshua Groban, I like Bob Marley, I like Dave Van Ronk, the list goes on!

Okay what is your single favorite dish?

Jonathan Terrington (thewritestuff) | 457 comments Mod
The Lord of the Rings to date is my favourite book.
And yes everyone I'm back. Been a little busy with uni work and getting my driver's licence.

My question: Do you guys have a licence to drive at all?

message 233: by Julius, He Who Arises in Might (:D) (new)

Julius (bookseeker007) | 1781 comments Mod
You got your license, did you? How easy was it?

And in answer to your question no, I've yet to obtain a legal license
But I shall soon. You guys drive on the right side, correct?

(And my group question is: do you know any natural remedies?)

message 234: by Jonathan , The Wise (new)

Jonathan Terrington (thewritestuff) | 457 comments Mod
It was an easy test if I hadn't let my nerves get to me. But I passed anyway.
And yeah we drive on the right side of the road. I'll let the others answer the natural remedies. I don't know many just things like using white vinegar and honey.

message 235: by Linda (new)

Linda (lindacee) | 130 comments Remedies for what? I know several, including remedies for acne, sore throat, headaches, sore muscles, and bleeding gums. I studied the pioneers of the 1800's in school and instead of just the actual history, I also learned medical techniques, home remedies, cooking (I don't recommend churning butter unless you have exceptionally strong arms) and just basically threw myself into the life for a week.

What is the most interesting part of history to you?

message 236: by Jonathan , The Wise (new)

Jonathan Terrington (thewritestuff) | 457 comments Mod
The revolutions and conflicts in history. Those things that show us deep down what every person is. And how we don't really learn from the lessons of the past. That is what interests me most about history.

What is your favourite thing about books?

message 237: by Phoebe, TheInvincibleRabbit (new)

Phoebe (theneveronlinechick) | 3313 comments Mod
How they can take you to different places and teach you something you didn't know before.

How often do you read? (probs a silly question, :D)

message 238: by Julius, He Who Arises in Might (:D) (new)

Julius (bookseeker007) | 1781 comments Mod
As often as I can, though recently I have been very busy. But if you look into my profile you'll find that I'm reading something even now.

If you could have any super-power from the Marvel universe what would it be?

message 239: by Jonathan , The Wise (new)

Jonathan Terrington (thewritestuff) | 457 comments Mod
Oh I love the energy manipulation powers. Like Gambit for instance. Or maybe I would rather have agility and speed based powers like Spiderman. Or Wolverine's healing factor...

I take it someone else is a Marvel fan here then? My group question is then: has anyone here seen the Avengers and what did they think?

message 240: by Julius, He Who Arises in Might (:D) (new)

Julius (bookseeker007) | 1781 comments Mod
Energy manipulation, huh? I'd go with Wolverine or Spiderman any day of the week.
No, I've yet to see the avengers, but I wouldn't mind if I did. Who is the director?

And my group question: What did you guys think of the Dark Knight movie?

message 241: by Julius, He Who Arises in Might (:D) (new)

Julius (bookseeker007) | 1781 comments Mod

How about acne, sore-throat, and head-aches? I could pass this on.

message 242: by Jonathan , The Wise (new)

Jonathan Terrington (thewritestuff) | 457 comments Mod
Sore throat remedies. Mix together honey and white vinegar with some boiling water. It doesn't taste great but the acidic properties help alleviate sore throats.

I'm actually yet to see The Dark Knight or any of the new batman films. I'm less a DC fan but I do like Batman and the ideas he poses.

By the way the Avengers is very, very good as an action film. It's also reasonably family friendly for its type. But that's not to say it isn't loaded with action. Because it is.

What is your favourite style of writing?

message 243: by Julius, He Who Arises in Might (:D) (last edited May 13, 2012 06:10PM) (new)

Julius (bookseeker007) | 1781 comments Mod
Well, if you do like Batman the new movies are quite worth taking a look into; they were both good, but the Dark Knight was great.

My favorite style of writing is the high, Old English style, used by people like Tolkien, E.A. Poe, C.S. Lewis and so on. Being able to give a sentance life and gravity, rather than simply saying something like: 'And Pluto blew up cuz the missile hit it', is a skill I have strove to attain, and love to ply.

Has a natural disaster ever occured very near to your dwelling?

message 244: by Jonathan , The Wise (new)

Jonathan Terrington (thewritestuff) | 457 comments Mod
Yes there were bushfires within a 20 km radius of where I currently live. Basically they were up in the mountains and they weren't where I am currently but I do know several people affected by them.

Have you ever been in a competition and won?

message 245: by Julius, He Who Arises in Might (:D) (new)

Julius (bookseeker007) | 1781 comments Mod
Brushfires. Not good.

I've never been in any professional competition and won, but I've beaten two very fast runners in foot races, and wowed several people in friendly talent contests.

Do you have a large number of very agitating friends?

message 246: by Jonathan , The Wise (new)

Jonathan Terrington (thewritestuff) | 457 comments Mod
A few but it's mainly agitating in the friendly way - as in, I'll annoy you for fun. Sometimes in the frustrating way as in, 'guys you should understand this and organise better!'

Favourite non-fiction topic to read about?

message 247: by Phoebe, TheInvincibleRabbit (new)

Phoebe (theneveronlinechick) | 3313 comments Mod
animals. I love animals.

Favourite word?

message 248: by Jonathan , The Wise (new)

Jonathan Terrington (thewritestuff) | 457 comments Mod
There are so many to choose from. I do like long crazy words like onomatopoeia, manoeuvre, antidisestablishmentarianism, lugubrious... Oh I know paradigm - that is a great word. Or macabre.

What is something you try never to leave your house without? Keys, wallet?

message 249: by Linda (new)

Linda (lindacee) | 130 comments Inhaler, purse, water.

Best quote from a movie?

message 250: by Phoebe, TheInvincibleRabbit (new)

Phoebe (theneveronlinechick) | 3313 comments Mod
"When the ship goes down, we're getting off together."- Titanic. (i might've written the quote wrong) :P

Would you rather meet The Beast out of Beauty and The Beast, or Skulduggery Pleasant? :P
