I just finished.

Finished it yesterday and the ending was SO sad. The story of Bethany and Dawson is so sweet and beautiful

(view spoiler)[ I think there's more to the ending of it - like it was so vague and everything, I'm hoping they're alive after all and something just happened to them. Also, I've been thinking this because of Onyx's summary. It said something like 'I saw someone that's not suppose to be alive' or something like that lol (hide spoiler)]

I'm making like these crazy theories because the ending just made me cry :(

So me and Janelle were discussing Shadows and yes I know I overanalyse things but here are my thoughts.

(view spoiler)[Yes I think they are still alive. At first I thought they were dead and it made me cry but the way they went about it. How the officers wouldn't let Daemon and Dee see the bodies. What if there was no bodies and they just disappeared?

The other thing I think is does what happened to Bethany have anything to do with Katy. Dawson brought back Bethany the same way Daemon brought back Katy. I know Katy wasn't actually dead but she was so close to it that even Dee didn't think she would have survived and she could hear his thoughts just like Bethany could.
It brings up my questions as to what's going to happen to Katy after Daemon brought her back. I already suspected that it was going to be something more than just their heartbeats being connected I really think it's going to have some effect on her, will she have some powers? I thought this after finishing obsidian but now after finishing Shadows it just confirms my thoughts. Is she going to feel the same thing as Bethany?
Will she be able to hear Daemon's thoughts when he is in Luxen form like Bethany could? Will she be able to sense Arum? I think this is what it was when Bethany didn't feel right and was burning just before more Arum turned up. Does is have something to do with Dawson bringing her back and does that mean Katy will feel the same way. Will Katy be bringing more Arum back because of what Daemon did? (hide spoiler)]

I think either. This doesn't contain spoilers to the main plot of Obsidian, so you could get away with this one first. I quite like heading backward for prequels though, myself. So, whichever's your preference. :o)

I know with the Covenant series, I read the prequel first and it helped a lot with understanding what had come before.

I would read Obsidian then Shadows

and then in the Covenant series Daimon, then Half-Blood

It doesn't really matter which you read first. I think I loved Shadows so much because of how much I loved Obsidian though.

I agree. I don't think I would have liked Shadows as much if I would have read it first. It just seemed to fill in a few blanks!! I just finished it and loved it. I LOVE Dawson!!! He's so different from Daemon...and now I completely understand why Daemon is so rude to Katy and why he tries to distance himself.

Yes Jennifer, I agree, it made me understand Daemon's behaviour a lot more and made me love him even more. Not that I needed too since I loved him from the moment he opened the door half naked with those green eyes *sigh*

I Love the Covenant series too but I just love the characters in Lux, she writes them so witty and funny

True. I think I appreciate and like Shadows more after I read Obsidian, otherwise if it was the other way around, it probably wouldn't be one of my favourites. But it is now!

I think I love the Lux series better than the Covenant series though :P
