Jon Congrats Bonnie! you certainly snuck up there!

message 1913: by Melissa (new)

Melissa (melissaconrad) Man, I'm struggling here! I'm reading the book that I started but never finished. And am realizing why I never finished.

It's The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay, and it's not that I don't like it. It's just that...I don't like-like it. And I have trouble going back to it once I put it down. No big reason except that I don't really care about the characters or story or what's going to happen next. That makes me sound heartless, lol.

At least I got further along this time around! Last time, I stopped after 50 or so pages. Now I'm around page 200. Only 450 more to go!

Anyway. I might need to put is aside and read something else in the meantime. I don't want this slump to completely take over in my last two weeks of the challenge!

Sara ♥ (saranicole) Lindsey wrote: "I completed a book that's been on my TBR list fooooorever. ... The Dashwood Sisters' Secrets of Love by Rosie Rushton.

How was it? I've been meaning to read that for a REALLY long time!

I just finished listening to Sense and Sensibility . It was 10 discs long, and BOY, is my kitchen clean now! ;) I did two dishwasher loads, cleaned out the refrigerator, and cleaned out and rearranged some cupboards (I had old boxes of cake mix that expired in 2004/2005 in there, which is sad, but even worse considering we moved across the US in 2007!). My husband sure likes this book challenge! ;)

Anyway, Sense and Sensibility won best adapted screenplay in 1995, which is 15 more points. Total points: 325.

I've got 4 books left, and I'm currently reading 3 of them:
- Breaking Dawn (700+ pages, 25 pts)
- The Last Jihad (political fiction, 15 pts)
- Where the Red Fern Grows (5 Ws + H, 5 pts)

That will just leave Ever for my random TBR book and the last 5 pts.

4. For Valentine’s Day: Read a Book with the Word Love, Romance, Kiss, Valentine, Cupid, Sweetheart or Heart in the Title.

Eat, Pray, Love One Woman's Search for Everything Across Italy, India and Indonesia

Finally finished this, and really liked it, even though I was not prepared to. Fun.

Although I agree with you, Bonnie, I was a little tired of her whining about her exes, and her problems at the Ashram because she couldn't figure out how to meditate were a little annoying..., but I still liked it.

This wasn't one I started and then put down because I didn't like. True to title I literally forgot about it after starting it on a trip -- I found it a suitcase last week. Despite an unrealistic plot twist, I actually enjoyed it.

Sera Wow, much has happened since I was on a few weeks ago! I had my baby two weeks early, and needless to say, she has been keeping me very busy. However, I was able to read two books this past week so I'm still hoping to break 200 points for this challenge.

I finished two tasks recently:
