And from the last page - thanks for the props Eva and Jon - it's work sometimes but it's fun too!! My library that I work at does a challenge like this for the adults every summer so I posted it just for fun last summer but people seemed interested in keeping it going so I just decided to give a go.
Everyone helps make this work by suggesting the categories before each challenge and helping each other out with book suggestions...so my thanks to all of you out there that help make this challenge work.
Elizabeth - yes that's all there were I never imagined it would get this big so fast.

I'm trying to fit in the books I have on my to read list into the Winter Challenge. When that runs out, or when there is a book that I have to read that won't fit, I guess I'll figure that out. In January, I have to read several with my students, and I can't really cheat them to fit it into my schedule. :)

I think this makes 35 pts. LIZ (NY)

I’m mostly sticking to books that can be fit into the challenge, just because I’m curious to see how far I can make it and because I’m obsessed with following lists and making silly reading goals for myself, but…my book club will be meeting in early February and I was unable to fit that selection into this challenge. Plus, I’m not strong enough to resist the lure of books that can’t be fit into the challenge but are wantonly calling my name from the shelf (namely #7 and #8 of the Southern Vampire Mystery series). I was able to fit 3 of those books into this challenge, but can’t fit in the final two. But I must read them soon. Must!

It Happened One Autumn by Lisa Kleypas (England)

Heavens to Betsy nooo! apart from the fact i did manage to weave most of the books i was currently wanting to read in, there no way id squeeze in any more. I picked up a Tracy Chevalier book with Virgin in the title - thinking it would count for something and realised doesnt fit, so back to the library it will have to go!
I had a blast at the library this morning on a mission with my booklist in hand feeling proud of self, however now have ominous sinking feeling looking at said pile of books piling up in front of me at home. Perhaps in a tad too deep!
Still...have gone for choosing a book for each category and will just settle for reading which ones of those I can. I do like the way it forces you to pick up some random choices - I most certainly wouldnt be reading 'Silent Night' by personal choice, but even with my creative genius in full throttle i couldnt manage to find a way of working any of the books floating around on my TBR list into a Christmas Carol!.
Anyways..I must confess to enjoying the challenge, even if have an aprehensive feeling that i wont be talking to many Human Beings in my spare time any time soon !
Happy New Year Ladies! and..er Gents if any others exist here (yes is now 2009 in Sydney!)

I went to the library last Saturday with my list too. It was so much fun trying to find books to fit the challenge - especially since the library here isn't all that great. Regardless, I felt like a little kid on a savenger hunt. Way too much fun!
