Nanci | 78 comments 105. Michael Vey: The Prisoner of Cell 25 by Richard Paul Evans Pretty good reader. Held the attention of my family from 48 down to 14.
106. Wicked Business by Janet Evanovich The chemistry between Lizzy and Diesel keeps getting hotter and the search a little more dangerous as they look for the next seligia stone. Great reader on this audio book. Very fun read.

Nanci | 78 comments 107. Overprotected by Jennifer Laurens Cute,YA romance. When you need a little candy this is a good choice.

Nanci | 78 comments 108. The Private World of Georgette Heyer by Jane Aiken Hodge Biography of one of my favorite authors of all time. I actually really like Jane Aiken Hodge's gothic romances as well.
109.Shadow of Night by Deborah Harkness I thought this was a good second in the series. This didn't disappoint at all. I hope she doesn't take as long for the 3rd book though.

Nanci | 78 comments 110. Surviving the Applewhites by Stephanie S. Tolan This is a reread but I love this book. The characters are so fun! Maybe I relate so well because I am the only non-creative person in a very creatively talented family as is ED, one of the main characters.
111. Applewhites at Wit's End by Stephanie S. Tolan You know, I don't really love the cover design for this book. Even so, I enjoyed the book. Not as good as the first one. Still, the characters are loveable. I felt like there wasn't enough of it to really give the full story but still worth the read if you have read Surviving the Applewhites by Stephanie S. Tolan

Nanci | 78 comments 112. Rush for the Gold: Mystery at the Olympics by John Feinstein This was a fun read as I look forward to watching the 2012 Olympics. I am not a huge sports fan, but I really enjoy reading these YA sports mysteries. I learn quite a bit and I enjoy the characters. I love the behind the scenes glimpses of some of the major sports venues.
113. If I Should Die by Jennie L. Hansen3/5 The only other book by this LDS author I had read, I didn't like. I decided to give her another try and I was pleasantly surprised.

Nanci | 78 comments 114. The Book of Lost Fragrances by M.J. Rose All about reincarnation and scents that can make you remember past lives tied in with the troubles of the chinese government's dealings with the Dalai Lama. Interesting but sort of disappointing to me.
115. All For You by Lynn KurlandJust needed a light romance and this hit the spot. Not one of Kurland's best but suited the mood I was in.

Mary (mccanniff) | 37 comments Catching up on posts - I had no idea that Joan Aiken had a sister! I'll have to check out Jane Aiken.

You can't find very many of her gothic/suspense romances(at least not in my library system) but I used to read them when I was in high school and college. Some of my favorites are The Winding Stair, Marry in Haste, and Watch the Wall My Darling.

Nanci | 78 comments 119. Changeling by Philippa Gregory This is the start of a YA series. The bad thing is that I will have to wait a long time till the next one is out.

message 62: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 78 comments 123. Tallgrass by Sandra Dallas This is the first book by Dallas that I have read. I enjoyed it. I think I will look for more once I get further down my to-read list.

Nanci | 78 comments 124. saving ceecee honeycut by Beth Hoffman Some good women bonding quotes and women's strength type situations. I liked it. I listened to it on cd but I may have to get the book just to mark some passages.
125. Lucia, Lucia by Adriana Trigiani It has been a while since I read a Trigiani. I enjoyed this one. It didn't have the happy ending I wanted but it was very touching to me. Had some language I was surprised by, I don't remember that type of thing in the other books I have read.
126.Midnight Crystal by Jayne Castle I had to just veg with some light fluff. These are always fun.

Nanci | 78 comments 127. Dark Destiny by Mary Jo Putney More of the same in this series. I like it but it isn't "you should read this" worthy.
128. Short-Straw Bride by Karen Witemeyer My first of this author. I liked it enough to want to read more.

message 65: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 78 comments 129. Partials by Dan Wells I really liked this distopian type sci-fi. Looking forward to the next one.

Nanci | 78 comments 130. Tiger's Destiny by Colleen Houck I was okay with the ending of this series. I enjoyed it.
131. At Last Comes Love by Mary Balogh This one is a favorite. I really love the story and and characters.
132. The Most Important Catch by Jaclyn M. Hawkes
133. The Magician's Nephew by C.S. Lewis Somehow, although I have read the Chronicles of Narnia many times, I haven't read this book. I am really glad I finally did.
134.The Caregiver by Shelley Shepard Gray I liked this one, I look forward to reading more of this series.

Nanci | 78 comments 138. The Robe by Lloyd C. Douglas I had seen this movie back when I was in High School so I thought I would pick up the book the other day. So different from the movie. So much better!
139. My Private Detective (Count on a Cop) by Rebecca Winters Nice romance, good story.

Nanci | 78 comments 139. After Hello by Lisa Mangum I liked this story. It was an interesting premise and I liked the characters. The ending is very open ended, which I hate. It all takes place in a 24 hour period and then it is over except for what your imagination comes up with I guess. This a girl meets boy and spends the day with him, trusting her life and safety to him kind of book which might give teens an unrealistic idea of the world which I would hope they would not try to duplicate. Hopefully they will understand it is a work of fiction.
140. The Cabin by Carla Neggers This was pretty good. It was a little stronger in language and sensuality than I had expected in a Carla Neggers book. I have read others and they were not on this level. I was disappointed.
141. Coming Home by Mariah Stewart This was just OK for me.

Nanci | 78 comments 143. Liar & SpyRebecca Stead This one was OK. Not as good as her other book When You Reach Me which I loved!
144. The Magic of Ordinary Days by Ann Howard Creel I liked this but I don't love the style of book where the story is told through backflashes a little at a time. I am wondering how the movie is.
145. Running Blind by Shirlee McCoy
146. Deadly Vows (Steeple Hill Love Inspired Suspense #192) by Shirlee McCoy I like this author. They are a nice quick romantic suspense.

Nanci | 78 comments You know what happens when you put off doing the little things? You forget the little things you put off. Hopefully I can remember what I have read.
147. The Hunters by John Flanagan Just finished that today so it is in my mind. Satisfying conclusion to the adventure with smiles to end it with. The end leaves it open for more adventures. Not sure if the author has more planned but I hope so.
148. Rise of the Elgen by Richard Paul EvansExciting adventure leaving you hanging as you wait another year for the next installment. Some of it kind of grossed me out and you discover just how really bad the bad guy is.
149.Running for Cover by Shirlee McCoy
150. Lone DefenderShirlee McCoy
151. Undercover Bodyguard by Shirlee McCoy
152. Out of Time by Shirlee McCoy Couldn't get this book to come up on the add book thing.
153. Navy SEAL Rescuer by Shirlee McCoy
154. Ruby Red by Kerstin GierLoved this book! Can't wait to read the next one in the series.

Nanci | 78 comments 155.Shades of Milk and Honey by Mary Robinette KowalLiked this Ok, not one to rave about but it was nice.

message 74: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 78 comments 156. The Great Divorce by C.S. LewisI wanted to see if I would get more out of this reading it as a middle age person (closer to death) than when I was in my 20's. I think it was about the same for me. I was surprised.

Mary (mccanniff) | 37 comments I'm in awe of how many you're piling up (also jealous!) I love your list for some of the ideas, and for reinforcing some books I have waiting for me. I've got Ruby Red sitting at school.

message 76: by Nanci (new)

Nanci | 78 comments I am pretty spoiled because I only work part-time and books on CD make house-work, gardening, and big projects much less boring. Of course, the little romance books can be read when I have a couple hours free time so take those away, it would be a much lower number. I pretty much carry a book with me wherever I go so when I am waiting for someone or something I knock off a chapter or so. I hope you enjoy Ruby Red. I am something like 8th on the list at the library for Sapphire Blue so I am looking forward to that.

Nanci | 78 comments 157. The Crimson Crown by Cinda Williams Chima Ok, I love this series and I loved the way it ended.
158. Shelter by Harlan Coben This is my first Harlan Coben book. I really enjoyed it. The characters are quirky and fun and there are plenty of comic relief moments along with some good suspense and mystery. It ends with the understanding that for Mickey Bolitar, there will be more adventures in the future.
159. The Lawman's Christmas Wish by Linda Goodnight
160. His Cowgirl Bride by Debra Clopton
161. Her Homecoming Cowboy
162. Her Rodeo Cowboy (Love Inspired) by Debra Clopton These have some cute characters and are a nice quick little romance when you have a little time in the evening. There are a whole series by this author set in the same town so you get to meet some of the characters as the new stories play out.
163. The Mark of Athena by Rick Riordan this newest in the series doesn't disappoint in action and fun. The only disappointment is having to wait for the next one in the series to come out.

Nanci | 78 comments 164. Gateway by Sharon Shinn I enjoy reading this author. This one was a little different but I liked it. Maybe not on the the top 5 list but still fun. The coolest thing is that the name of the Hero is the same as one of my son's names, even spelled the same. It is a very different name so when I saw that, I just had to read it.
165. Tidewater Inn by Colleen Coble

Nanci | 78 comments 166. The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne I knew the basic story of this from High School but I had never actually read it before. I didn't know how it ended. I enjoyed listening to it on CD.
167. Save the Date by Jenny B. JonesImplausible and quite a bit of religion but so very funny and cute I couldn't help but enjoy it.
