I didn't think you would get to double figures!

I'm quite proud of how I've done this year. Even though it hasn't went down fast. It is going down and I'm only buy stuff in the sale that I've been wanting!
Glad your proud of your progress. I would be if i hadn't been given over 20 books, as i had found a good system to get numbers down
I've tried to stop downloading all the free books to help me cut down the numbers, so far it seems to be working I am managing to read more than I download!
Nice one Jud :D! (deja vu lol)Ye, I only download freebies if they are by 'our' authors or if I see a good one for Mother that I'd never read in a month of Sundays
bought 3 in the sale.1 of which i would of gotten anyway as it was a sequel to a book im reading atm
from the other two i bought, you've actually read one. i noticed you reviewed it and gave it 3 stars :)the king arthur one - not even gonna lie, i bought it for fandom related purposes.
Yay, another paperback finished - The Price of Love by Peter Robinson. Going to start on the book about the Wests next, if I'm not enjoying it by page 50 it is going on the charity pile
Oops!Added 10 new books
*sings*
Okay in my defence a friend gave me a giftcard he won so I didn't technically buy them all.
Although I had to give in and get the rest of my Christine Feehan books.
I decided that i didn't enjoy the West book last time i tried to read it so put it on the charity pile! I then tried Sense and Sensibility and Seamonsters, bearing in mind i hated Sense and Sensibility, have read the first 50 pages and given up. Still have 40 paperbacks to read though :(
EEP!There isn't even a word for how out of touch my challenge is at the minute.
I need to get reading/updating!
(in my defence i've hardly spent a penny on the new books - giftcards!)
I'm behind on reading paperbacks but have decided on what i am going to read in December - this year i have been picking books on their length to try and get numbers down. As i am currently ahead, i am going to read some of the longer books i have put off this year.
I've decided to have a winter/Christmas themed December and have set aside all books relating it until then!Haha, such a dork.
Sounds a great idea. I can't wait for the month to be over, not enjoying reading classic after classic. I have 2 challenges for next year already!
I've got a private group set up with books I definitely want to read each month and if I get those finished I can read extras. It's working so far!I also have a November challenge to attempt to finished books I've part read!
Another paperback finished! Skipped parts though as i didn't enjoy it much. Have only managed 4 in my classics month, am not doing a full month again.
For me personally I have to read classics in between other books. They are just *so* much sometimes!
Yeah, i have discovered that! I am going to aim to read 4 next year but not all at once. I might even read some asmy second book
I try to read a least 5 books from the bbc top 200 a year. So far this year I've read 2 so I have a few to go!
Ooh, I'll have to have a look at that list - I was going off the top 100. Might go off the 1001 books to read instead!!
the 1001 is for after ive done top 200 haha.the 200 actually has some books in it i never would of thought belonged there.
i hope to get the hardback of 1001 books before you die so i can have a hard copy of a list.
okay so ive decided to take out all books bought before the start of the year. so i actually have a TBR list from before 2012 to read. this way I can't just read a book i just bought and need to read older ones.
Sounds like a good plan. I'm halfway through a paperback and decided that I dont really want to read another, so mine should be down by 2 by the end of the week.
Not quickly enough tho, i don't seem to have had a lot of reading time these past few months, not getting through 2 a week anymore :(
The fab thing about having my new kindle is there are hardly any books on it, not including the archived ones of course. I have added the Discworld books on it so I can get on with reading them and other than that I have a Spanish tales book (I have to learn a lot more Spanish before I can read this, but it misleadingly said Beginners in the title)
What I mean by that previous post is that I am regulating the books that I am downloading and reading the ones I do download so that I don't just accumulate masses of books that I then forget what they are about.
Ye that is the reason I only have TBR next books on my Kindle now. For a while I had too much to choose from and it was like *aghhhhh*
Finally finished my paperback and as my next one is an Adrian Mole book that shouldnt take long at all.
For me the classics are a kind of touchstone. They show me what has stood the test of time and sometimes reading something solid is a relief after a non-stop diet of thrillers.
I have a thing for classic childrens novels it seems. They are the only type I enjoy. Which is weird.. because YA fiction is not something I like, but I can deal with fiction geared towards younger audiences!
When I first got my kindle I went through a phase of re-reading several of the children's classics and thoroughly enjoyed them! E. Nesbit, and Frances Hodgson Burnett.
A couple of years before that I worked my way through the Anne of Green Gables and Katy series, as well as lots of books by Noel Streatfeild. It's amazing how well these books have stood the test of time.
(Had to edit as had probs posting..)

I've just finished re-reading "What Katy Did." Also is there anyone out there that loves Violet Needham as much as I do?
