What did YOU just bring home from the library?
Rusalka wrote: "I agree. The bottom one looks much more fun!"Yes, insanity is usually more fun - you can ignore reality!
Judy wrote: "Love the goofy eyes. Is that what your eyes look like after reading all day, JMom?"
My eyes are peacefully shut after a lot of reading. Those eyes come when dealing with my dogs. And I have a feeling they'll be like that all during the Toppler. ☺
Janice wrote: "Dang! Does that mean that we moderators are going to have to come up with iconic images? Who started this?"
Rusalka didn't know what she was starting :) And the other mods better choose their own quickly, or we'll have to choose one for you :D

Pam wrote: "I tried to get

I picked up my hold of
I borrowed it once before but didn't read it. My sister asked me to read it and tell her if it's something my niece would like. I have no idea why I have to read it first but whatever I think I may like it a lot.

She's 15 turning 16 we're only 6 years apart since there's a 15 year age gap between me and my sister. Apparently she wants me to try it out because my niece has autism (high functioning) and wants me to get a feel of whether its above her reading level or not.
Janice wrote: "Will this work? :D"
Oh, I forgot about the sadistic/dominatrix/scary woman. That definitely will work!

Oh wow Amber, thanks for letting me know. I have never heard of it before (did I live under a rock?) but found it to be seemingly interesting so picked it up. Good to know it's going to be worth it. :)
I just picked up my inter-library loan (how I love those) of The Horseman on the RoofTell me I am not influenced by people here on GR.
I can't wait to start.
jaxnsmom wrote: "Anytime! How do you think of her? *think carefully before answering*"
It all started with the fascinators at Kate & William's royal wedding. Another group that I belong to was having a heyday with it and we were all posting pictures of weird hats. I even had that one s my avatar for a short time. It tickles my funnybone in a freaky-funny kind of way.
I picked up Night of the Ripper from the library today. When I came outside, my good looking guard was about to make his rounds of the parking lot. Good thing he was chatting with someone because I hadn't plugged the meter.

Judy wrote: "Hey, that would have been a way to get acquainted with him, Janice. :-)"LOL! He's much too young for me, I'm afraid. If I could find an older version minus the beer belly many of the older versions have, I'd be introducing myself without the excuse (or expense) of a parking ticket.
Janice wrote: "Rusalka wrote: "Janice has a toy boy! In a uniform!!"ROFL! Apparently. :)"
It's always frustrating when *you* are the last to know you have a toy boy ;)
ROFL! I'll get right on that. (Not)Picture me sculking around the library, camera in hand, hiding behind bookshelves, and waiting for just the right moment to snap that perfect picture. :) I'll be like the little deer hiding behind a sapling and thinking he's invisible.

I wanted to read the Pendergrast series so I figured I should start at the beginning. That's why got Thunderhead in the first place.
Picked up these today:
(For banned book week and my AtW challenge),
and
for Darren. He loves when I grab graphic novels from the library for him.
I got to go to a focus group for my library the other night and it was fascinating (and I got paid $75.) We talked about all that our library has to offer and I even learned a few things. Our library will mail you books if you are unable to get there on your own. We have a genealogy class that will help you do research on your family. We've just instituted a mobile site for our online catalog. They also sponsored a free music festival over the weekend. I love my library (and am on the waiting list for several new books being added to our catalog.) We also talked about how great our library is in buying books that are requested by patrons. Shout out to libraries everywhere.

Leaving the house to go pick up
from the library. Since it is a book in high demand, I will only have it for 7 days. I will start reading immediately! So excited!

Libraries are the best!
April wrote: "Leaving the house to go pick up

I picked up Lust for Life. I didn't expect it to come in so quickly so I will have to renew it a couple of times because we're doing the buddy read in November. LOL!
Pam wrote: "April wrote: "Leaving the house to go pick up

Just picked up State of Wonder
for our book club. I know nothing about it and since its not due until the first monday of the month I will finish the
which is interesting but a slow read.
I just got home from the library, picking up
by Karen Thompson Walker, which was being held for me, and on the spur of moment picked up the audiobook
by Howard Jacobson, which I had heard a lot about and which won the Booker Prize two years ago. Listening to FINKLER on the way back from the library to the office, very amusing so far.
Kimberly wrote: "I picked these up today:

I've wanted to read both for quite awhile."Interesting Kimberly. When I was younger I would listen to a band from England that sang a song about Long Lankin. The band was Steeleye Span (you can google the lyrics). The song always intrigued me because the melody is so catchy and uplifting but the lyrics are literally murderous.
Will be curious to hear your thoughts on Long Lankin. I have added it to my tbr.
My last few trips to the library (over the last eight days) have been very fruitful :)
I won't be reading them all:) Just like for the Topplers and GTR, I like to have a variety to choose from for other group themed reads. I have nine on hold as possibilities for the Toppler, plus a few recent downloads, I'm getting prepared!

I've been meaning to read Anna Dressed in Blood since last year, glad its such a good read. As for Matched it's a BOTM in my mail goodreads group. I've heard that its blah from loads of people but I'm going into it with an open mind.
