Can someone find a page count for Accident: The Death of General Sikorski by David Irving?

I looked in several places and couldn't find one.I did find the book online...and saw that the last chapter started in the 200s...but no final page count.

1849. For books of this type, we will use the author's death date unless someone wants to go to the lengthy task of determining the author's last published date. (Not me!) I have corrected the GR entry.

I wanted to read Nomads Who Cultivate Beauty: Wodaabe Dances And Visual Arts In Niger for my second round of RG, but there is no page count. Amazon has it listed at 128 pages, I just the got the book from the library and the page count is 110 in my copy...I was just hoping to get a page count approved for this book to verify that I can use it. Thank you!!

Worldcat agrees with book in hand. I think Amazon counts pages that GR does not count.

Amazon doesn't count any pages at all. Publishers report pages based on printing estimations.

Hopefully this is the correct place for this. Based on my copy of Animals in Translation: Using the Mysteries of Autism to Decode Animal Behavior, Temple Grandin should be listed as the lead author.

This article from 2007 https://usatoday30.usatoday.com/life/... indicates that he is 58 years old. That would make him 68 now and his birth year would be 1949 I believe. Could that be reflected on his GR bio?

I am interested in using Wonderment in Death for one of my short stories. However, as you can see the MPE is the audiobook which has a page count as 4 pages (! funny, eh). How should I handle this?

This probably doesn't change anything, but I plan on reading the print edition (in this collection: Down the Rabbit Hole ). I can go to the library and actually check the page count....

I can't give him a birth year as that will become a permanent part of his record in our database, but as he is currently working as a librarian, we'll assume he was born after 1918 and before 2006. Good for this task - please remind me when you post.

We will use the Kindle edition as the MPE, which has 90 pages. Audio on Goodreads is supposed to be the number of hours (I should check this one, 4 might be wrong.)

On the page for Labyrinths: Selected Stories and Other Writings by Jorge Luis Borges there is no translator listed...but I'm almost certain he wrote in Spanish. Perhaps he translated himself? and if so, would that count for the translated style points?

That is a bilingual edition - this is the edition we would use for the MPE, and is, indeed, a translation.

Patricia Schultz author of 1,000 Places to See Before You Die has apparently kept her age a very close secret....I couldn't find it anywhere...but I can't imagine she is 99 years old. Do you have any way to figure out her birth year for purposes of Winter task 20.1?

She is currently working for the WSJ, so we will assume she is younger than 99 and over 11. Added her to the list! (Assumption won't work for 20.4, though.)

Are you just armchair traveling this year, or do you have another big trip planned?

Ahhhh.... I just wrote an email to a tour company, Group One, I used them for my trips in South Africa and India....and if things work out, I will be using them for a tour of Guatemala and Honduras in March.

and I there is no translator listed but I could find nothing that indicates that Bunin wrote in English. I suspect that there are probably different translators for different stories. Just trying to see if this would qualify for LiT styles?

oh and also....do the Collected Stories equate to the Selected Stories on the Western Canon?

I'm not sure how you even found that edition as it had an invalid ISBN and there were others. Anyway, I combined it and then merged it with the right edition.

I recently bought Brainswitch Out of Depression: Break the Cycle of Despair from the author herself A.B. Curtiss ...and I'm looking for a place to fit it in. Problem is I can't find her birth year listed anywhere. I'm sure she's not yet 99...so, should qualify for 20.1. I suspect she may be 75 or so for 20.3...but, I could be wrong. Is there any way a librarian can find her age?

At the bottom of this German entry is that she was born in 1934, and would enter her in the database this way, So yes, fits 20.1 and 20.3. (If the "Exakte Lebensdaten‏" line is right, her birthdate is Mar 29, 1934.)

Your browser's find feature. If you use Windows, click the CTRL key and the letter F at the same time. Then there will be a box where you can enter in the search term you're looking for. If you use a Mac, someone else will let us know what that command is.
