I feel that women should be able to be preachers. Things have changed a lot as to the place of women in society. I feel that since we have proven ourselves to be half the human race and are equal to men in the business world, I think it is probably about time women started to join in the cloth. I think they have just as much to offer and may even put a new perspective on things. I think they should have the right to try.
well i'm not religious at all...but i think that woman should have the right to do every thing that men are allowed to do.
Sella, if I know you in person, I think we would get in fights a lot :) Not in a bad way though. Your still awesome
I think they should be able to preach. EVERYONE should be able to preach in God's name. On the other hand, I don't think that they should be priests.
omigosh. Grace that link was ridiculous. I had to stop reading halfway through.Think about how much women do! We give birth, for heavens sake! We create life! Sure, with the help of men, but we are the ones that have to go through 9-10 months with extra weight and morning sickness. And headaches. We're also the ones that give birth. We feed the children. We have an incredible caring capacity. If anyone would be more pleasing to God it would be women.
But that is a big reason I am not a Christian. They say women should stay at home and cook and clean. Just give us equal rights to men. We're exactly the same except for physical differences. There is no way a man should be allowed to do something women can't. Because men wouldn't even exist if it weren't for women. Or vice versa. Women shouldn't rule over men, but men shouldn't rule over women.
Ok, even though I'm atheist... Why shouldn't women be allowed to preach? WOmen are way smarter than men and can do anything guys can do but in high heels. Ugh, Seth, why are you being sexist? Women can't becuse they are "lower" than men or something?
no, of course not. i guess its cuz that is what mormons beleive. we think that they can preach! I mean, my sister is on a mission! but we don't think that they shuld have the preisthood.
and by priest hood you mean stuff like passing out the bread and water during the sermon? Okay, I can deal with women not being able to do that, but not being allowed to preach?
this is what i think"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them" (Genesis 1:27).
"Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created" (Genesis 5:2).
"And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen" (Revelation 1:6).
however, the Bible also says
"Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law" (1 Corinthians 14:34).
"Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence" (1 Timothy 2:11-12).
i have no opinion at the moment
Don't ever completely listen to the bible. Especially when it talks about women, the whole thing was written by men.
Really? So you're saying God was a voice in their heads and they just wrote everything that God said down?
acutally courtney is somewhat right. when they transalated the bible to english, it wasn't perfect so don't beleive everythign you hear.
and apparently it was translated from greek . . . and if I remember not many english people knew greek.
Yes. One of the reasons I don't believe in God is because of the unkindness toward women in the bible. But my mom says that you have to remember that it was written by men.
You guys should read a year lving biblically... my dad's reading it (and you should remember, he was raised very religiously) and it shows that the bible really has some, er, interesting things.
like how he can't talk about tennis much because it may bring up venus williams, who was named after the god venus, and the biblee says you shouldn't talk about other gods...
and the other one he told me was that he couldn't touch women so he had to get the womsn at the conter wherever he was to put the change on the counter.

what's not true? this man lived by the bible, except for those things that are illegal (like killing magicians because they are making magic, which is like only god's power or something.
That is really stupid. Not you, them not being able to preach.
well i'm not religious, so idk if i should put my word in. but i don't see why a woman shouldn't be able to preach.
It depends om what religion you are in. Like i have said before i am 100% LDS. in our religion women can teach there is no problem with that. But women cannot be ordained. Its not that men are any better then women are we are still all equal. thats just how our church works.
Notice that all the girls said woman can preach, but all the guys have said no.hmm...what an interesting phenomenon. I wish I could get my brothers' views on this.
Not all the guys have said no.My brother would probably tell you that girls can preach, and so would my dad and just about every other guy in my family would say the same.
Oops. Sorry if I offended any of you. I didn't realize that there were some male opinions that said it was okay. And the guys in my family would be like "what? why?" if they heard that some places thought women can't preach.
of course they should what is the difference between a woman and a man preacher. my aunt hilda is a preacher and is an awesomess one at that. so i don't see why it is wrong. i am into god very much and don't see anything against it in the bible and if there was she wouldn't be a preacher because she loves god more than anyone i know. i saw her speak in tounges at her church. she was praying and in her prayer she started praying in tounges. it freaked me out but it was so awesomess to witness.
I don't think I have commented on this one... I personally think that it's cool for women to preach and give lessons and stuff. Freedom to express your beliefs and all of that. I don't know it word for word, but I know that you have the freedom to try and persuade and educate others on your religious belief. I just had to do a paper on it a few weeks ago in Geography. So, all-in-all, I think it is perfectly ok for a female to preach.
Lol, no kidding. Hilary used Sexism way too much to get into office. Vote for me or your a sexist!!! I think her slogan should have been GIRL POWER or something.
