They are good, don't get me wrong. Very different from each other. Just not up there with some of the others I have read. Across the universe is a little more on the weird side. Wither is more of a typical dystopian.

You think Under The Never Sky has a happy ending? I actually think it was a cliff hanger b/c you don't "really" know, no do you????

It's not a full cliffhanger, but it was definitely open-ended, since it's a series. But I definitely thought I was a happy ending. I was soooo happy at the end!

I know what you mean about Dystopians sometimes being sad, but I read Incarnate and Under the Never Sky, they are not as sad (or dark) as the some others. Incarnate is actually pretty light compared to most dystopians, I would call it a "soft core" dystopian...focused more on love then the world falling apart. Also Under the Never Sky is AMAZING! and I would highly recommend it. Like I said its not as shocking or dark as some others but the world itself makes it more dystopian. These both will leave you with happy feelings, I swear, but still have the adventure of a dystopian.

Blood Red Road is one dystopian I can think of that is a bit darker, and more survival oriented. And Angelfall takes the cake for dark, disturbing after effects where the feelings wont leave you for days.

I was in the middle of reading VA 1 when I immediately ordered the next 4, then cried when the shipper took a day longer than expected...So I may not be the norm haha. But if you are asking the question, then I am guessing the unquenchable need to read the next book hasn't hit you yet. If that is the case, I would wait for the library book. But you should probably try to get 4 at the same time because after 3 I promise you won't ask that question. You will just need it, like NOW! lol!

Hope that helps!

Finished Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days, #1) by Susan Ee in less than a day because I couldn't tear myself away...AWESOME dystopian, a definite must-read (especially if you love the angels/fallen angels like I do!!). Was going to start on The Giver (The Giver, #1) by Lois Lowry tonight, but I'm putting it off until tomorrow since I got Pure (Covenant, #2) by Jennifer L. Armentrout in the mail today!!!!! AHHHHHH!

I agree, I was getting so uptight toward the end, then....ohhhh, I was so excited!!! LOL Part of me hates reading the first in a series with a love story because I know they'll be torn apart, tortured, and possibly brainwashed against each other throughout the rest of the books, but I was very happy where this one ended! ;-)

I read this when it first came out, and I'm on the fence with this one. It's good, but parts drag and I'm not liking the pushy religion vibe I got from it. I don't think it's for everyone, for sure, but I'm into it enough at this point that I'll read the sequel.
