Well let me just say that V.C. Andrews was way ahead of her time and of societies understanding of anything less than platonic. I was fift....very young when this book came out and it was so shocking to a lot of people because you didn't hear of same sex relationships or mixed race relationships much less incestuous relationships.

LOL wow, I see. How old did you say you were?! J/K. I totally get the mixed emotions on the subject matters. However I'm glad I took a chance on such a controversial issue. Now I'm always looking for books that challenge my mind and bring me out of my comfort zone. I enjoy those stories more.

I'm 28 and not going to change my mind. Tabitha, my daughter, was born on my 28th birthday therefore my birthdays stopped ;) I also like reading all kinds of books.

Oooh I loved it! The writing was incredible and heartbreaking. Have tissues on hand.
Speaking of, I read and Finished
today for a second read-through. Still as gut-wrenching as the first time I read it 2 years ago. Now I'm on
, another fabulous Tabitha Suzuma heartbreak. If you loved the Find You in the Dark series, you'll love this one too! It deals with depression and bi-polar. But that's woman's writing is just too incredible for words.

I wouldn't be reading it right now, if Annie didn't have such spectacular status updates :)
Haha Heather, I hope to God you enjoy it! It's a powerful and incredible story with such heartbreak. But it's one that will stay with me forever.

and a little creeped by this one. Not sure how I will review yet. I mean I love V and I love the fact that he got the girl but wow. I was starting to feel these books were bios so I guess it's good this one brought me back in the fictional realm.

Since I was on vacation I managed to devour, Play With Me by Piper Shelly, Three Days of Rain, by Christine Hughes, The Girl Who Chased the Moon by Sarah Addison Allen, King Hall by Scarlett Dawn, and London Bridges by James Patterson. All decent reads!

It is the summer, hence the need to re-read the entire Harry Potter series! Currently on Half-Blood Prince.
Before Now is really good Amanda. It's Park's story from
. It's not as dark as Sometimes Never and Park is super steamy!!

attempted to read
but i couldnt get into it, so i put it down and started reading

Kasey wrote: "I am going to start

I've missed a lot the last few days and haven't been able to read either. Super busy and exhausted. Dropping off my daughter at college and I don't go back home until Wednesday so my participation and reading time will be extremely limited for now. Miss you all and the great book talk!
Ditto Belkis' comment here! Just got back in town, sorry to be MIA and hope everyone has had a great weekend. Finished up chick lit
which was a cute read, and
which was anything BUT cute because holy hell it was HOT HOT HOT. *wipes brow* Definitely a fun guilty pleasure read if you need one!

I really enjoyed
it was a wonderful retelling of the classic fairy tale with a very interesting sort of dystopian magical realm romatic mixture happening in it. Very satifying read for me :)

I didn't like it very much. It was a pretty quality book but that particular interpretation of Beauty and the Beast just wasn't for me. It was medieval-ish styled and mostly centered on dark magic and the "beauty" was a queen and the "beast" was a reptilian warrior as opposed to a prince.

Totally agree with you Laura. Sometimes we agree on books we all like and sometimes we're completely opposite in our opinions. For instance I can't stand The House Of Night series by P.C. Cast and others loved it. I read maybe the first 4 or 5 books and I was done. I just agree to disagree with people. That's what makes life interesting, we're all different.
