Totally agree with you Laura. Sometimes we agree on books we all like and sometimes we're completely opposite in our opinions. For instance I can't stand The House Of Night series by P.C. Cast and others loved it. I read maybe the first 4 or 5 books and I was done. I just agree to disagree with people. That's what makes life interesting, we're all different.

Well let me just say that V.C. Andrews was way ahead of her time and of societies understanding of anything less than platonic. I was fift....very young when this book came out and it was so shocking to a lot of people because you didn't hear of same sex relationships or mixed race relationships much less incestuous relationships.

However I'm glad I took a chance on such a controversial issue. Now I'm always looking for books that challenge my mind and bring me out of my comfort zone. I enjoy those stories more.

Oooh I loved it! The writing was incredible and heartbreaking. Have tissues on hand.

Annie Brewer (anniebrewer) | 2351 comments Speaking of, I read and Finished Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma today for a second read-through. Still as gut-wrenching as the first time I read it 2 years ago. Now I'm on A Note of Madness (Flynn Laukonen, #1) by Tabitha Suzuma , another fabulous Tabitha Suzuma heartbreak. If you loved the Find You in the Dark series, you'll love this one too! It deals with depression and bi-polar. But that's woman's writing is just too incredible for words.

Ellie James by Ellie James which so far isnt to bad though a little young in the way the characters talk and behave.

Ditto Belkis' comment here! Just got back in town, sorry to be MIA and hope everyone has had a great weekend. Finished up chick lit Blogger Girl by Meredith Schorr which was a cute read, and Control by Charlotte Stein which was anything BUT cute because holy hell it was HOT HOT HOT. *wipes brow* Definitely a fun guilty pleasure read if you need one!

Picking up an ARC of Arsen by Mia Asher with some hesitation because I know it's going to tie me in knots...can't wait to discuss this one on here with some of you in the future!!

I didn't like it very much. It was a pretty quality book but that particular interpretation of Beauty and the Beast just wasn't for me. It was medieval-ish styled and mostly centered on dark magic and the "beauty" was a queen and the "beast" was a reptilian warrior as opposed to a prince.
