Hope you like it better. It was one of my most anticipated books of 2013 so I'm really disappointed. I have read 3 books from my most anticipated 2013 list so far - 1 has been good while the other 2 have disappointed me. :(

I am still to read that series. I know, I know. But the last book, a disappointment? Doesn't encourage me much to start the series. What were the 2 that you liked?

I liked Mind Games (Mind Games, #1) by Kiersten White and was disappointed by Pretty Girl-13 by Liz Coley .

Aw man, I have a copy of Pretty Girl 13, sent to me by the publisher. I won't get to it before it releases tho.
If you go into Requiem not having expectations it will be better.

That's Mead for you she really does start off slow when it comes to romance and plot but like you I was afflicting and had to know what was going to happen next ... Sydney's character makes it seem extra slow because she's so rigid and strict!! VA series started off slow too lol

Finished Leo (Sign of Love, #1) by Mia Sheridan and I loved it even though it wasn't technically perfect. Just loved Leo and Evie to pieces and it was hot-hot-hot sexy!!

Need to catch up on blog reviews, but I can't resist anymore...finally reading Here Be Sexist Vampires (Deep in Your Veins, #1) by Suzanne Wright .

Jenni | 15 comments The Jake West Trilogy by MJ Webb

This will definitely appeal to young teens who like fantasy as well as us adults who like an easy read with a new twist. The beginning is a little slow, as one character is reluctant to admit his past, but after that...you just get swept into another world. There are some great characters and I am willing them to survive against great odds.

Finished Some Girls Bite (Chicagoland Vampires, #1) by Chloe Neill and Friday Night Bites (Chicagoland Vampires, #2) by Chloe Neill and wanted to read the third one but the library didn't have it! I can't believe how HOT these books are! Ethan-Morgan OMG OMG!

Have you girls read these books?

Yup it's out the beginning of April. It was really good!! Dante was funny but sweet and Charlie was this super nerdy girl with frizzy hair and a lime green back pack. Dante is all Versace and suave but falls for her. It was a random coupling but really worked in an adorable way.

That's just it! Vampire Academy was slow but then BAM! It was on from Frostbite forward. And I'm actually really enjoying Bloodlines I have a feeling that in the next one Sydney is going to end up being a surprise because she's so rigid. And I know it's slow but I'm almost glad it is because with that much conditioning I'd have a hard time believing it if in a single book she was a rebel.

Belkis (bminaya) | 8313 comments Just finished Poison Princess (The Arcana Chronicles, #1) by Kresley Cole and absolutely LOVED it. Another win for Kresley Cole. She never disappoints me. Thank goodness book 2 is slated for October 2013 as I'm dying to know what happens next. Totally reminded me of the feeling I had when I read Angelfall by Susan Ee. The stories are completely different but the overall darkness and feeling of EPIC surrounding them both. Oh how I loved this book.

That's my aim too Laura. Hopefully we'll be able to do it. So many great ones waiting to be read and so many coming out every day makes it so hard to keep up and to get through our huge pile. My aim for this year is to at least start all of the older series that I want to read. In Death, Vampire Academy, Lords of the Underworld, The League, Mercy Thompson, Kate Daniels, The Parasol Protectorate, Downside Ghosts. I've already started 3, starting 2 others this month, and the last 3 next month. Hopefully I'll be able to get through them by end of this year LOL!

Oliver's writing is what kept this at a 3 for me. And, yes, I think if you go in without expectations it's a great book. Wish I would have been able to do that.
