Jillian Dodd's writing style is funny and heartfelt. Her character's are wonderfully layered. You'll cry, and swoon, and LAUGH LAUGH LAUGH promise! DF is a great dystopian/steampunk, one of my favorite books-and it gets a little racier than the usual YA! ;-) I read it way back, but I still remember the characters and plot vividly, which is saying something for me. LOL And the author is such a doll, I just love her!!

Depends what you are looking for. The Selection is light and more like the bachelor show. Very little dystopian elements. Glow is really disturbing if you want something darker. I haven't read Article 5 yet but I've heard good things.

What I want is romance. Always romance. Regardless of the genre I am in the mood for, its always secondary to romance for me. :P

Oh, I feel the same way!! The girls tease me because I tend to judge a book partially based on whether or not the romance is non-existent, a dud, or flaming hot! LOL

Cinder and Article 5 both have subtle romance, and I really enjoyed both of those. Glow was just an unusual story; it had a rather disjointed romance and the pushy religious aspect to it grated on my nerves.

They have subtle romances? So none of them are actual romances? Sadface.

Jennifer (ivashkovlover) | 339 comments The Selection (The Selection, #1) by Kiera Cass had a lot of romance.

message 12094: by Belkis (last edited Aug 29, 2012 07:28PM) (new)

Belkis (bminaya) | 8313 comments oh Rebecca :) you make me smile because to a point I'm the same way LOL! I'll read anything (well except horror, ah nope not going there) but it needs to have romance in some way in it. I read
Cinder (Lunar Chronicles, #1) by Marissa Meyer and liked it a lot. It does have romance in it. Since it's the first book to a trilogy the author starts developing the story, characters, plot, and yes romance :) The author does a nice job with the budding love story involving the 2 main characters. I enjoyed Cinder a lot. It had a nice balance of everything in it. A likable interesting heroine, a hunky hero, an very interesting plot, action, humor, romance, intrigue. An enjoyable read. I have but haven't read The Selection (The Selection, #1) by Kiera Cass which i bought because the premise for the story seemed interesting, again it seemed like it involved romance cause hey, prince picking a princess, hello :P , and wow what a pretty cover *grinning like a lush*, and I bought Article 5 (Article 5, #1) by Kristen Simmons which i haven't read yet either but i loved Divergent and Insurgent, and Matched, and The Hunger games trilogy, and Legend, so I added it to my dystopian stack :) but don't know if it has a heavy romantic story in it but figure it probably does because most dystopians novels do in order to keep us a little happy inside the misery LOL! I don't know about Glow, cause it didn't appeal to me so I didn't look into it.
