message 1125: by Marva (new)

Marva I just borrowed Mockingjay through my 1 month of Prime membership which came with my Kindle Fire.

I'm not an OMG FAN! of the series, but I see its value as an introduction to dystopian science fiction for the younger audience. Harry Potter and Twilight drew in the fantasy folks. Hunger Games etc. will attract readers to SF, which is all good as far as I'm concerned.

message 1126: by Samantha (new)

Samantha Mullins (hixxup79) finished reading Touch of Darkness (Darkness Chosen, #2) by Christina Dodd and now reading Changeless (Parasol Protectorate, #2) by Gail Carriger

Darwin's Children by Natasha Larry

message 1129: by Marva (new)

Marva I'm smiling. I just got a contract for an MG/YA fantasy book of mine. While the book has already been published as a series of short stories, and then as a compilation closer to a novel, it's nice to have it accepted yet once more as a complete novella. In the meantime, I hope somebody will find and read the first book in the Witches of Galdorheim series, Bad Spelling

The 2nd in the series will be released in January.

message 1130: by Samantha (new)

Samantha Mullins (hixxup79) Congrats Marva

Can we start a support group discussion page for this book? I don't know when a book has ever made me soooo happy and yet completely broken my heart at the same time...ugh. Still, this was Cassie's best book yet.

Beck Murphy | 16 comments Finished reading Take Me There yesterday, was a little disappointed. Think I was comparing it to a book I loved that I thought it would be similar, and when it wasn't, I had no interest in it anymore. I know I'm a hopless romantic, but is it to much to ask for YA books to have happy endings?
