I can't speak for everyone (obviously). However, I think we are all just having some fun here. I personally don't speak about my (wonderful) life with my hubby. Some of us are just having fun with the book and not taking it seriously. We all admit that she's no Shakespeare and the book has its share of blunders.

That being said, you have to admit, E L James just happened to be in the right place at the right time and has one amazing publicist! And im happy for her and could only dream one day that that will happen for me when I am done with my first book. I say, go with it and tell your husband you want to take a ride in an elevator! LOLOL ;)

message 8609: by Jen (new)

Jen (geekybookgal) | 159 comments I read the first few chapters free on my Kindle and decided I couldn't go any further. The language is just too childish, and I just couldn't get into even caring what happens to the characters. It reminds me of the John Norman books on Gor. Hunters of Gor (Gor, #8) by John Norman People raved about these books because of the "women treated as sex slaves" aspect but they were painful for the most part. Some good quotes tho.

Brooke (The Cover Contessa) wrote: "The language? The writing is AWFUL! And yet, people are still reading and reading and reading it! ARGH! "

Elise (redentrapy) I am reading Mark of the Princess (The Kingdom Chronicles, #1) by B.C. Morin , Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma , and Spell Bound (Hex Hall, #3) by Rachel Hawkins .

@ Kimberly Salvatore- Just wondering how the soul screamers series is. I have the omnibus volume one and I haven't started it yet. Would it be considered urban fantasy...?

Girl, you are a glutton for punishment!! LOL Actually, Easy is nowhere near the tear-jerking heartbreaker that the Thoughtless series is, so you should be good. This may actually be a good "phase out" instead of jumping completely to another genre!! =)
