Amazon has since matched the Nook deal. They usually try to price match from what I can see.
$2.99 on Kindle http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003...
$8.99 on Nook atm but maybe B&N will lower the price?
Audible is doing their sale for firsts in a series for $4.95 and there are some decent titles. Especially
Take a look audiobook people! :)
LOL, Hillary! I'm just downloading The Name of the Wind!I read it already but I want to do a re-read in audio before I read Day 2. :)
I went kinda crazy too, got 6 books but hey that is the price of two or sometimes one regular priced! I'm set for audiobooks for awhile, especially since Outlander and The Name of the Wind are really long!
I finished
I liked it - it drove me crazy... It's too late to go into it haha!Going to start
for another Group read.Glad you ladies got so many audio book deals - that's awesome!
I haven't listened to
but the narrator is the same one who did
, which was awesome. I've also heard great things about NotW, and $4.95 is a steal!

I am looking at yours. I saw you decided against Sandstorm -- why? That one seems interesting, and I am itching for a genre switch.
I was able to find it on Audio CD in one of my libraries.A friend recommended it a few months ago and I've been meaning to read it so I'm really looking forward to it.
It looks good. I foudn #2 in that mystery series you just finished, and my library has 3+ in CD, so I still need to find 1. Audible got back to me, they will consider adding it to their next sale, but that isn't for months. For some reason I really want to start it now.

I might have to pick up the Drake Chronicles book since I liked one of her other books (Haunting Violet). What used to be
is now showing as
. It's Drake Chronicles book 1.FREE @ B&N - http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/heart...
Amazon is currently showing it as $2.51 (US), but they have been price matching just about every deal almost right away, so I'm assuming it will be FREE for both US and UK within the next day or so. If you're interested, I'd just check their site tomorrow and/or the day after.
I had to include this one because of Cassi's comment about Kentucky on her add.

This is an adult book, not YA, but I know we have Gaiman fans in the group and this is a recent price drop.
$2.99 @ Amazon - http://www.amazon.com/Neverwhere-eboo...
$2.99 @ B&N - http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/never...
$2.99 @ itunes (think this works in Canada too?) - http://itunes.apple.com/us/book/never...
$2.99 @ kobo - http://www.kobobooks.com/search/searc...
Np! Just a note. I'm noticing that a few of the recent postings have gone up in price within a couple of days, so if you end up seeing a freebie that looks interesting, be sure to grab it before the price goes up.
You are very right about that -- I grabbed some favorites of mine that were on special for awhile, and now they are 9.99

She lives!I've been scouring the usual free/discounted book sites and there seems to be not a lot of known/big name books being offered right now, just a bunch of indie/small pub stuff like...
, etc. both on Amazon and I think the vamp one is on Amazon UK, B&N, and itunes (for Canadians). In too much of a mind fog tonight to go cross check and get links for the stuff. A search on the sites should take you there.
Amazon UK deal of the day : http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/feature.ht...
Not showing on US yet, but it hasn't hit midnight PST, so maybe they'll offer a deal later.
Amazon UK deal of the day. Sorry if I'm putting up so late for you guys, but it's still early where I'm at, so I'm just seeing it now.

I don't know how you guys feel about me posting a constant stream of indie freebies, since there seem to be several released daily. So many of the new books don't have reviews up (or only have a few from friends of the author but not much opinion from the general public), so I would feel guilty if I ended up dropping a bunch of duds on you guys. This one seems to have at least a bunch of reviews by now to check for good/bad opinions. I think it's only free for one day.

There aren't many reviews out on this one, but I figure since I haven't had a lot of fantasy offerings, I'd put it up. Free is no risk anyway...
FREE @ Amazon - http://www.amazon.com/Fire-Mage-Black...
Ah crap. Sorry, the price must have gone up since I posted. It must have been a one day freebie. A lot of the recent freebies have only been offered for a day or two.Prime doesn't give you free books. When it shows a book as zero, it means you can borrow it for free. As far as I know, you can only borrow one book per month? Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Amazon is sort of stingy with that info. I saw someone complain that they had picked out some prime books and didn't know they would be charged for them.
Yeah they don't have it marked very clearly. I only remember because for like a month the front page of amazon kept telling me about it. It thought it was being enticing. It was really however being annoying.
Personally, I would never join just for the books, usually those are the same books that libraries have anyway! It is a nice bonus feature on a good program though.I don't agree that they don't put the information out there that it is a borrowing program. Amazon has a policy that they refund ebooks - -so if something is misbought, it takes a call to Amazon or an email and it is taken cover right away. So there is no problem if a person doesn't understand, it can be remedied. But right on the book page, under the price is this information:
For Kindle Device Owners
Borrow this book for free, with no due dates, if you are a Kindle owner and Prime member. If you don't own a Kindle, get yours today. If you're not a Prime member, start your one month free trial today. You can borrow this book from your Kindle device.
With Prime, Kindle owners can choose from thousands of books to borrow for free — including over 100 current and former New York Times Bestsellers — as frequently as a book a month, with no due dates. Learn more about Kindle Owners' Lending Library.
and then there is a link to their one of their FAQs on the program, including this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/custome...
So I am not sure what else they could do to advertise that it is borrowing? I have been a Prime member since 2003. I think it has a lot of benefits, mainly the free 2-day shipping which is why I was a member for so long. And now the streaming of movies and tv shows. The Kindle library is an added benefit that I personally don't use. I would never join just for the books, usually those are the same books that libraries have anyway!
I've never tried since my Kindle is so new, so I can't say that I knew how it worked. I was just going off a complaint I'd seen.
