Finished: Little Girl Lost by Richard Aleas. It was a gripping mystery. A 4 star book. Now reading:
When the lion feeds by Wilbur Smith
Next on list:
गृहदाह - शरतचन्द्र चट्टोपाध्याय
If on a winter's night - starting was good, but I could not sustain it. Have plans to start it again...

Smitha wrote: "This series have always been in my radar. ..glad that you liked it."Smitha it had all that i ask of a cozy mystery a clean mystery, a sweet romance, good writing and a happy ending.
Finished The Undomestic Goddess by Sophie Kinsell . Slogged thru half of it and then it became interesting. Not a bad read. Now started on Twenty Wishes by Debbie Macomber.
Okay just wanted to drop in and say that Shutter Island was simply the best book I've read in a long time. If you like psychological thrillers, just read it already!!
By reading all the comments above I guess Shutter Island has to be on my to read list... till now I was just little apprehensive about the book.
I'm currently on a challenge (reading Gone with the Wind )
The Book Thief was one of the amazing books I've ever read... trust this is the only book by this other which I liked others are just wanna be types (my personal opinion)
Midnight's Children was Indeed an ingenious book, but whats the point of writing such a book when you lose your reader in the middle of the journey... I liked it but it was tad too much to digest

After a lot of books about saints I needed again some fiction so I started reading The Notebook, The Proof, The Third Lie: Three Novels by Ágota Kristof.
Finished Twenty Wishes. A feel good emotional read about 3 widows finding happiness in life. well written. Now started on The Beekeeper's Apprentice. Ive always been a great fan of Sherlock Holmes and have read the full collection. So was curious about this.
Reading Murder on the links by Agatha christie & Batman:Year obe by Frank Miller..njoying both the reads
finished mitch albom's 'For one more day'....going to start Love in the time of Cholera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
I finished reading Robin in the Hood by Diane J. Reed and is an great book. All the quirky characters make you laugh and love them. The theme of the book is different from many I've read.
I'm reading To the Lighthouse by Virginia Woolf (not an easy read because of the writing style) and today I started also a collection of short stories by Guy de Maupassant. I've read only 4 stories but I'm already in love with his writing style and the content of the stories.
Have never read Virginia Woolf, HAVE to.
Maupassant, along with O Henry is one of my favorite story tellers.

I think Virginia Woolf is to try at least once because of her writing style and language but I'm having a hard time with this book (in the past I have left two other books by her after a few pages). It is hard to get into her language though this book is full of interesting quotes and it is very thoughtful. There are very long sentences and often I have to re-read them to understand what is going on.
Finished The Beekeeper's Apprentice. Enjoyable read specially for fans of Sherlock Holmes if you are not expecting the high standards of Conan Doyle. Now ontoThe No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency Collection A bit slow?
But worth it. I loved No. 1 Ladies. It plays more on character mindset rather than actual mystery.
Reading The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. It's a beautiful book.Also reading किशोर चौधरी की चौराहें पर सीडियाँ। पहली कहानी पढ़ी 'अंजलि तुम्हारी डायरी से बयान मेल नहीं खाते ' ,काफी सवेंदनशील थी।
Just finished The Help and The Color Purple. Enjoyed both. Currently reading The Lies of Locke Lamora while also slowly progressing with War and Peace. Looking for a great mystery/ crime fiction to read.. Any suggestions?
reading 'night train at deoli and other stories' by Ruskin bond.I m trying to saviour it slowly, 1 chapter each day..it deals with everyday encounters f life in subtle yet surely rekindles emotions and attitude towards life..
@Light, Shantaram, I couldn't complete.
@Srividya, have read and enjoyed both .And am following your progress in the other group:D

@Srividya -I completed And there were none by Agatha Christie a few days ago. It's was a great whodunit. If you haven't read it you could give it a go. Also The secret Adversary by the same author.
@aditya I am always pondering on alternative history,so much so that'time machine'is on top f my wish list.. thanks to u I now can read a book on it.
Just finished 1. After The Prophet : The Epic Story of Shia Sunni Split by Lesley Hazelton
Started reading biography of Jonathan Ive.
light wrote: "just completed shantaram. huge. is there a part 2?"Shantaram was a great read. As far as I know there is no part 2.
