dely | 5485 comments I started reading Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier for my novel cure challenge. This books should help for low self-esteem.

I saw only later that this book won the poll for the june group read. I must read it now because I have borrowed it from the library but I think that in june I will take part to the discussion because I will still remember the events of the book.

Rebecca | 878 comments Just finished Duty to the dead by Charles Todd.It seemed a bit dark to call it a cozy mystery.
also Cloche and dagger by Jenn mckinlay. it was an enjoyable cozy but nowhere in the league of Agatha Christie.
Now reading James Pattersons Suzannes diary for nicholas. seems to be a romantic drama.enjoyed so far.

Rebecca | 878 comments I love anything related to food. Loved the movies Julie and Julia and ratatouille. But I am reading a story with food as the most important character for the first time. Am so glad I started on the last Chinese chef.

Lakshmi Yep its beautiful :)

message 636: by Uday (new)

Uday Kanth (udayk) Okay, I'm ashamed to admit this but I gave up on Midnight's Children after reading 30 or so pages. I dunno, the book just didn't interest me that much and there was too much mumbo jumbo which just didn't get into my head. This was of course almost 6 years ago and now I feel that I didn't give this book its due. Should pick this up soon...

I loved Kafka :D

message 640: by Srividya (new)

Srividya Vijapure (theinkedmermaid) | 1859 comments I just finished reading Kafka last month and loved it :) :) Hope you're enjoying it Lakshmi :)

@Uday - I totally agree with you.. Read about 30 pages or so and it did not make much sense but kept plodding on as I did not want to really give up. And even though the writing is a little scattered for my taste, I am still intrigued enough to go on with it.

Am also re-reading David Copperfield in between, when Midnight's Children gets to be too much.. and enjoying that very much. Almost 40% into the book and I must say Dickens is as marvellous and captivating to me today as he was when I first read him in school... A veritable treat :)

message 641: by Lakshmi (new)

Lakshmi @Smitha n Srividya...yes I am liking it so far:-)

message 642: by Uday (new)

Uday Kanth (udayk) David Copperfield...that's on my to-read list too! Last night, I really wanted to start reading a mystery. It just felt like it'd been too long since I read a good mystery, so I decided to read Shutter Island. Pretty eerie, so far!
