M.A. Comley (melcom) Thanks guys, can't grumble. My books always seem to do better in the US for some reason. :-)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Half way tween here n there would be fair, I think.

Morocco?

message 1156: by M.A. (new)

M.A. Comley (melcom) I'll only go to a country where they know how to treat women properly. I wouldn't want to end up in prison after hitting a bloke because of the way he looked at me! :-)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments We'll just have to wear burka.

After all it's OUR fault if men can't control themselves.

message 1158: by M.A. (new)

M.A. Comley (melcom) Not keen on that idea! :-(

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Oh, oh, oh!

I know how I can be helpful!!!

I'll pop round your's and fertilise the grass, shall I?

message 1169: by M.A. (new)

M.A. Comley (melcom) LOL! Thanks. I'll set up a tent near the nettles in the corner! :-)

message 1170: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Well done Mel :o)

I started Final Justice yesterday. It's so good!! I'm loving the crisis Lorne is having at the start, it makes her seem more human and just like the rest of us and not some super human police detective lady.

p.s. Jaques... Can't believe you did that.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments M wrote: "LOL! Thanks. I'll set up a tent near the nettles in the corner! :-)"

Wow! A tent!

I was expecting a cardboard box.

message 1172: by M.A. (new)

M.A. Comley (melcom) Thanks Jud, so pleased you're enjoying it. xxx

Ahhh Jacques. C'est la vie! :-(

Could be arranged, Patti. ♥

message 1173: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I'll get to the new one eventually!

message 1174: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Yeah, right.

There are no cardboard boxes in France. I'd have to bring my own.

message 1175: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Make sure it's corrugated Patti for extra strength and I recommend a plastic bag to keep the damp out from underneath

message 1176: by M.A. (new)

M.A. Comley (melcom) Haha Jud. Takes me back to my school days. Went for a hike on Dartmoor with the school once and they didn't provide us with ground sheets. It rained constantly for 48 hours, I shared a tent with my friend, we were frozen all night, and me being me, I emptied all the clothes out of my bag and covered her with them. :-)

message 1177: by Patti (baconater) (last edited Jun 04, 2012 03:27AM) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Yep, sounds like something you'd do, Mel.

I'd have lay on top of her to keep dry.

I'm sure the grammar in that sentence is completely wrong.

message 1178: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I did have a ground sheet when I last went camping and was still frozen. My aunty and uncle drove up to us with extra jumpers and some chocolate (which was technically cheating as we were on our Gold Duke of Edinburgh)

message 1179: by M.A. (new)

M.A. Comley (melcom) Go you Jud for doing the Duke of Edinburgh awards. It's horrible being wet and cold constantly wish I'd had chocolate with me.

message 1180: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I haven't had my gold signed up though and think I am too late so I'll never get the award now.

I don't have chocolate but I have blueberries, would you like one?

message 1181: by M.A. (new)

M.A. Comley (melcom) Oh no that's a shame!

ooo you have superfood. Love superfoods. :-)

message 1182: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments nom nom nom. I've started munching blueberries as my snack in work, I was shocked when I bit into one and found it is actually a greenish white colour inside

message 1183: by M.A. (new)

M.A. Comley (melcom) Yes, they are weird looking but lovely all the same, enjoy them and think of the good they're doing. :-)

message 1184: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I also just had a tin of tuna and an apple for lunch. I'm on track for a pretty healthy day today. Going to the beach tonight so will probably wreck it all with lots of ice cream and sweeties.

message 1185: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I just finished Final Justice just book 4 to go and I'm all caught up on the series :o)

Oh yea and I loved it by the way. Will right a review at some point in the next couple days.

message 1186: by M.A. (new)

M.A. Comley (melcom) I love Tuna too. At one time it was the only type of fish I ate, but now I eat all sorts, providing it doesn't have a head on or smell fishy! lol

Glad you liked it Jud. Someone left a sweet message on my FB wall yesterday to say they thought FOUL JUSTICE book 4 is the best in the series yet. That's great to know and is indeed how it should be, that each book improves.

message 1187: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Yea 3 was fab, so far it is my favourite. Can't wait for lunch break to get stuck into 4

message 1188: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I'm mega jealous that Patti gets to be the pathologist.
I hope that the personalities of the characters are not a reflection on your opinion of the person whose name you have used for them, otherwise you really mustn't think much of Katy! ;o)

message 1189: by M.A. (new)

M.A. Comley (melcom) Haha! No reflection on their personalities at all, Jud.

Just came home to this fabulous review for Foul Justice, I'm totally gobsmacked by it.

Foul Justice is the fourth outing for Mel Comley's vixen detective, Lorne Simpkins. Whereas the previous three have been 5-star nuggets, this is the mother lode - by far the best in the series and worthy of taking its place at the front rank of modern crime thrillers.

The story sinks its claws into you with a harrowing opening scene-setter that makes you want to cry out for justice. After that there's nothing you can do but stay on board to see what happens as Comley weaves her gritty tale with the ease of a maestro. Her lead character is a hard-bitten policewoman who has had to fight her corner every step of the way in a male-dominated profession. She's made it to the top and is now trying to solve three horrific murders; deal with the capture of her MI6 boyfriend in Afghanistan; and break in a new partner who seems to have her own fair share of personal troubles.

All three strands of the story come together seamlessly, not least because Comley has the knack for maintaining a frantic pace while taking time to provide the reader with insight into the lives of real people, dealing with real issues. These aren't superheroes, but when the time comes to step up to the plate, you just know they'll be there.

The author's writing style is easy on the eye. There's a steady pace about how she unravels the threads and yet reserves a few surprises in an ending typical of the best crime mysteries. This is a book that readers of the genre can't afford to overlook.

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Wow! That's amazing. Wish I could write reviews like that...

Go you!

message 1191: by M.A. (new)

M.A. Comley (melcom) It is isn't it Jud. Sent me all tingly! lol

message 1192: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments I wish I could write reviews half as well. Heck, a quarter as well.

That review is spot on, Mel. Thoroughly deserved.

I think I'd be a great pathologist. ;)

I loved that there was a Darren in the book.

Jud you are gonna LOVE the world exclusive story.

Mel is awesome for offering it to the group as she did.

Heck, Mel is just awesome.

message 1193: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Two hecks in one post.

Patti can so never be a writer.

message 1194: by M.A. (new)

M.A. Comley (melcom) Heck!!! I keep telling you I'm one of life's givers! lol

message 1195: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Heck! You don't need to tell us that!

Your actions speak for themselves.

message 1196: by M.A. (new)

M.A. Comley (melcom) Bless you ♥

message 1197: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Heck! (I was feeling left out)

What are you trying to do to me Mel!!! I was practically in tears at book 4 I won't say at what part cause I don't want to spoil it, and talk about exciting!! I;m just over 50% through now.

message 1198: by M.A. (new)

M.A. Comley (melcom) OMG!!! You're blazing through them Jud. xx
