message 1357: by M.A. (new)

M.A. Comley (melcom) Well, almost 20,000 words into the next Lorne book. Going quite well so far, got distracted on Tuesday though when we bought a new car! lol

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Ha! Popped in to ask how your challenge is going!

Looking good, my dear!

Are you loving the new car? You've not said what colour it is! That's the most important bit!

message 1359: by Lorraine (new)

Lorraine Versini (lorraineversini) | 8438 comments yay !

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Yay for new cars!

message 1361: by M.A. (new)

M.A. Comley (melcom) Not picked the car up yet, Patti, next week hopefully!

It's a raspberry colour we have a pillarbox red at the mo. :-)

Really excited!

Katy | 2662 comments Just popping in to check on the challenge - I've been away for a week!

I've missed loads! Glad to hear the challenge is going well, and I expect pictures of the new car! ;)

message 1363: by M.A. (new)

M.A. Comley (melcom) Where did you go, Katy? Hope it was somewhere nice.

Having a day off from writing today as a handyman is coming to give us a quote for all the jobs that need doing.

I managed to finally get all the grouting off the tiles in the bathroom yesterday and now they're sparkling! Can't stand it when people only do half a job! :-(

Really cloudy here today. My aunt is coming for dinner with her crazy dog, no doubt the three dogs will be exhausted later. Mum's going back with my aunt for a few days. She needs a break from me. :-(

Katy | 2662 comments I went on a canal boat holiday with my fiancé (:

Glad to hear the writing is going well! Hope dinner goes well aswell (:

Hope all the work doesn't cost too much ): mum decided to begin redecorating the house while I was away, it's a nightmare! I can't find annything!

message 1365: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments OOOoohhh!! I didn't know you were engaged Katy :o)

Was the canal holiday fun? My boss just got back from 2 weeks on a canal boat holiday with his family.

message 1366: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Oh Mel! Thought you might be interested.

We are gonna rescue a dog on Friday, unless his owners come along between now and then. But we found him on Wednesday night so I would like to think if the owners were coming that they would have at least phoned the Dog Warden or police by now.

As much as I want him to go back to his owners it would break my heart if I didn't get him :o(

message 1367: by Katy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Katy | 2662 comments It only happened on Wednesday, Jud! On the front of the canal boat, going over marple aqueduct (: I'm still getting used to calling him my fiancé! But we've had so many cards and presents from family, that Its become a habit (:

message 1368: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

Get on to the Morning thread right now young lady and tell everyone! If you don't I will.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!

Katy | 2662 comments Thanks Jud (: x

message 1370: by M.A. (new)

M.A. Comley (melcom) Wow! Congrats on the engagement Katy. xx

We used to holiday on the canals all the time, Katy, loved it. The Broads is fab if you want a hassle free boating holiday but the Thames with its 196 (stand corrected on that) locks make for a more exciting hol.

Jud, that's lovely. Hope eerything turns out well. In the new Lorne book she sets up a dog rescue centre and becomes a PI too. She's a workaholic like me.

message 1371: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments YAY!!!!

I love dogs :o)

I can't wait to rescue our wee pup on Friday, I hope he is excited to see us again

message 1372: by Katy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Katy | 2662 comments Thanks, Mel! (:

It was my first canal holiday. I did a few locks, but since i'm not the strongest person, I drove the boat a lot too ;) They even got me a cap that says 'captain' on the front :P We did the cheshire ring - 92 locks and 97 miles. Definitely looking for something a bit smaller next time, but loved the locks! ;)

Philip (sarah) Willis | 4630 comments phil and I did the Thames in a cruiser about 25 yrs ago,it rained most of the time. If I remember correctly we started from Henley. Saw all the lovely houses belonging to the celebrities of the day.

M.A. Comley (melcom) Sarah, we took my niece and nephew on the Broads when they were 6 and 8. We told them we were going to stay in a caravan for the week. They freaked out, in a good way, when they saw the boat.

The following year we went on the Thame,Iknow exactly the stretch you mean. Very nice houses indeed.

Philip (sarah) Willis | 4630 comments Nice yep but I would hate all those peeps passing by the end of my garden!I was irritated enough on Sunday when the farmer decided to cut the grass in the field at the bottom of mine.He could see right into the house from his perch on the harvester, then he had the cheek to wave every time he passed.HeHeHe.
So looking forward to the new book Mel especially so since you revealed Lorne will have a dog shelter.

message 1380: by M.A. (new)

M.A. Comley (melcom) How annoying for you, Sarah!

Haven't done much writing the last few days as Mum is away and I'm trying to do little bits around the house while she's gone. Plus the pc had a major glitch to sort out! Grrr...

I heard about your glitch, Mel! Hope it wasn't too bad to fix! My hotmail account was hacked a few weeks ago, sending a link to a lesbian bondage site to my fiance, his family and my old teachers! oops!

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Yikes, Katy - I hope you were able to sort that one out pretty quick!

I hadn't noticed, until i got a text from my fiance that said "something you want to tell me? ;) check your email" haha. I was so embarassed! Phoned all my teachers to explain!

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments That would be super embarrassing all right.

message 1385: by M.A. (new)

M.A. Comley (melcom) Super embarrassing for you Katy. I hope no one was offended!

It was all okay, they all just laughed it off!

I don't know whats wrong with people ): x

message 1388: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments At least no lasting damage was done, even though a few people you have met along the course of your life may suspect you of being a closet lesbian... But however you get your kicks Katy we still love you!

;o)

message 1395: by M.A. (new)

M.A. Comley (melcom) Thanks Patti, I'm fine. Busy editing and writing at the moment.

Thought I'd share this with you all, not sure if you've seen it. I've not read Fifty Shades of Grey and have no intention of reading it. This review would def put me off though! lol

I've been wondering why you've been so quiet, Mel! Hope everything's okay (:

That review was great! I have no intention of reading the book either

message 1397: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments That's a brill review. Saw it on Facebook.

No, I'll not be reading that 'book'

message 1398: by M.A. (new)

M.A. Comley (melcom) Haha! Talking of reviews I woke up to a five star on all the Justice series this morning from an avid fan! That's made my day, week and year I think! lol

Lorraine Versini (lorraineversini) | 8438 comments :) all in one go?

message 1400: by M.A. (new)

M.A. Comley (melcom) yes, she read all the books and then reviewed them all on the same day. She actually left a message on my blog a couple of weeks ago saying that she had enjoyed them and I thought she wasn't going to review but she did.

Always nice to receive reviews; :-)
