There's a link I'll NEVER EVER tell Dave about.
No more Spotify for me......just logged in and found my personal iTunes music library displayed (never gave my permission for that) and getting asked to join Facebook. NO THANKS - I shall go elsewhere for a music fix.
I used to enjoy Spotify.......but this enforced link up with Facebook etc cheeses me off - I'll just have to find some other way to listen to (and then slag off) the prog records that Geoff so enjoys
I do enjoy when you slag off, Ian. I read your comments to Dave and pretend I've thought of them. ;)
I've got to tell you this, every time Ian's name comes up on my inbox I read it Iron!!! I always have, ever since I was little. Are there any names you always read wrong and then have to correct in your head.Penelope is another, as a child I always read it to sound like antelope!!! It's stuck with me ever since!

Marc Riley has just played some Captain Beefheart on his 6 music show - just thought Simon and Geoff and indeed Patti's Dave would appreciate this knowledge
Great band Patti.......I particularly enjoyed their eponymous 2nd Album..."Came Home Happy and in the Mood for Love."
Joy Division Oven Gloves by Half Man Half Biscuit which contains the immortal line:"Nero fiddles while Gordon Burns"....wordsmithery of the highest quality methinks
The finale from Robert W. Smith's Divine Comedy Symphony. The Mountain View High School Wind Ensemble performed the symphony yesterday evening and did an amazing job. Darned kids sounded like pros and the audience was on its feet before the last note died away. I captured some of it on video (still camera with limited video capabilities so I didn't get the very end, darn it) and just keep playing it on my computer.
I have my iPOD playing through my speakers on shuffle so it is throwing up all sorts of random stuff, Bach, Aerosmith, Lindisfarne, Elton John, Robert Johnson and now.. Clapton .. 'Signe'
Thats my favourate thing about my ipod, I click shuffle and the most random stuff comes on! People look at me real funny when I play it out loud! But 'variety is the spice of life'!
the thing I enjoy about my ipod is the incredulous looks I get from some of my (much) younger colleagues when they ask me what I am listening to and I come up with an answer that doesn't seem to fit in with their ideas about what 'old' people should be listening to. Hey. I am 59 and I like Snow Patrol.. so sue me!
I've noticed that some of my FB friends now have their current songs posted (via Spotify) on their feeds. One friend who I always thought was a metalhead said he was listening to Air Supply and Tiffany. :)
My Nana, who is in her seventy's, sings along to the black eyed peas! The absolute truth! What can I say? I just have a really, really, REALLY cool Grandmother!
Well if she is in her 70s that means she was probably a teenager during the 1950s.. you have a rock and roll Nana!! She probably rode on the back of motorcycles a lot.. are you getting a picture?
I have always had this vision of myself at sometime in the future annoying the care workers in some nursing home by playing Led Zeppelin very loud..
Care homes are going to be a scream aren't they? The neighbours complaining about the noise is going to be a treat and I want to be first in the sunnysside home for the feeble minded to get an asbo.
Dazed an Confused............a tune to rock any care home to it`s foundations.
oooooooooooooooooooooooh yeah!
:0)
Dave says his first choice to play in the care home would be the first track on Zeppelin three. He can't remember what it's called.Maybe we hold a room for him...

Oh yeah.. 'Immigrant Song' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nBmueY...
Crank up the volume on our hearing aids Dave!!
I am amazed really. I have just paid £3 for a months subscription to last.fm and I am getting all sorts of music based on just a few groups I put on.I just can't get my head around paying £3 a month for unlimited music.....
But, the volume seems to be very varied. I think the old dear at number 28 was particularly impressed when I drowned out her 'led zep knitting group' meeting.
Not yet. I have bad memories of them. they used to drink in a pub in Southampton. When they had sufficient they would do an impromptu gig for the locals. It was a truly horrible experience. (I think it was hawkwind... *goes off to rattle brain cells*)
I detest Hawkwind. I've threatened to pitch the sound system out the window when Dave tries to play it.Mind you it's good at driving guests out the door when they stay too long...
I had a room mate in Germany who alternately played Hawkwind and Uriah Heep.. closest I ever got to committing murder..
