I'll shut up now.

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I finished The Titan's Curse and started The Battle of the Labyrinth. They are terrible. Was Rick Riordian 15 when he wrote them? I sincerely hope so, for his sake. Still enjoying them though, just wish he would stop using ADHD and dyslexia as an excuse for stuff Percy does, it is not good writing!

Ignite, do not even touch these books, or glance at them in a shop, you will probably disintegrate to dust in despair for humanity!

message 3970: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Ooo-er! Can't be doing that at my time of life!

Jamie Sinclair | 939 comments Evening all,

Just finished - snoozing on the couch.
I've just started Snowdrops and it's very good. Conversational in style. I've never been to the places described but it feels like I'm there and the character is easy to get a long with. Flows nicely too, certainly won't take long to finish. Also nominated for 2011 Man Booker.

Tim | 8539 comments About to start Hunger (Gone, #2) by Michael Grant by Michael Grant (DTB edition). Next eBook will be Life of Pi by Yann Martel by Yann Martel (iBooks edition though, not Kindle) in advance of the movie, which looks *awesome* btw. and next audiobook will be Storm Front (The Dresden Files, #1) by Jim Butcher by Jim Butcher (first book in the Dresden Files series, narrated by James 'Spike' Marsters.

I don't often have more than one kindle/iBooks etc book on the go, but I do often have ebook+DTB+audio on the go at the same time.

Read some short stories?

message 3993: by Aoibhínn (new)

Aoibhínn (aoibhinn) I finished reading The Tenderness Of Wolves by Stef Penney by Stef Penney this evening. Overall, I thought the novel was an interesting and mostly enjoyable read. There were some problems with it (not surprising in a debut novel), the plot became slow and tedious at times, there were too many characters - it was very hard to keep track of them all - and the author wrote all of her characters in the first person so sometimes it wasn't clear which character was doing the talking! I had to go back and re-read multiple chapters to figure out what was happening in the story, which was very annoying! The ending was very sudden. It came out of nowhere and it left too many storylines unresolved. I was left wondering WHERE is the rest of the story???
My full review is here: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

Next I'm going to start The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton by S.E. Hinton.
