It's very good so far. And makes a nice change to read something with very short chapters. :)

Fiona (Titch) Hunt (titch) | 942 comments Well I am gonna read Six Geese A-Laying - Sophie Kinsella (had this since 2/1/12) x

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Now there's a thought. Perhaps this December I should only read books I downloaded last December.

Nawwwwww

Joo (jooo) | 1351 comments Just finished The Ice Marathon. Shorter than I expected.

Now I need to start reading Nicholas Nickleby as it's this month's kuf bookclub choice.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12622 comments I finished One for the money, not in a rush to read more. Just started Hell House by Richard Matheson

message 4014: by Fiona (Titch) (new)

Fiona (Titch) Hunt (titch) | 942 comments I started Six Geese A-Laying - Sophie Kinsella yesterday and finished it this morning. Didn't think much of the storyline.

message 4015: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments I read half a Sophie Kinsella once. It was enough to teach me that she doesn't write in one of my preferred genres!

message 4022: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I finished The Last Olympian last night. Haven't decided what to read next yet

message 4023: by Natasha (new)

Natasha Holme (natashaholme) | 832 comments I finished Wasted by Marya Hornbacher last night. It's a highly regarded eating disorder memoir, banned from some recovery clinics as triggering (my review). Makes my eating disorder (of twenty years ago) look mild.

Just started The End of Faith by Sam Harris. As much as I enjoy his views and wit, the relentless references to people as having a male gender will see me struggling through this book.

message 4025: by Karen (new)

Karen Lowe | 1338 comments Finished The Penal Colony, surprisingly good for a freebie, tho ultimately a little linear in plot, and I wasn't emotionally engaged. Made a start on A Lively Form of Death but really couldn't be bothered to finish it. A rather dull 'Midsomer Murders' type book, riddled with formatting errors. Have now started Ian Rankin's latest Rebus, Standing in Another Man's Grave - thank goodness, after the dreary Impossible Dead, he's back on form. Safe hands again :)

message 4026: by Aoibhínn (new)

Aoibhínn (aoibhinn) I finished reading The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton by S.E. Hinton last night. This was my first time reading The Outsiders. I never managed to get around to reading it as a teenager but I've heard so many people say it is one of their favourite books so I thought it was about time that I read it finally. And now that I've finished the book I can't believe I waited so long! The Outsiders is a gripping and compelling read which is full of suspense. It was also extremely heart-breaking and touching at times. The novel is very well-written, considering S.E. Hinton was just seventeen years old when she wrote it. I was amazed with the amount of depth and layers in this book. It really is wonderful. Five stars!
My full review is here: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

Today I've started reading The Lifeboat by Charlotte Rogan by Charlotte Rogan.

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Finished The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole, Aged 13 3/4 and was disappointed to find it ended at 70% then an extract of some other book stuck on the end plus a load of adverts. Not impressed. Have started Fifth Season to give me time to think of what book to start next, I am thinking Winter in Madrid

message 4029: by Kath (new)
