You know, the "leftover" kids - the ones who get swept aside whether intentionally or unintentionally due to the other child (or children) needing so much more focus.

There are so many kids out there with learning disabilities, emotional difficulties, behavior problems, mental health issues, etc. and yet how often do we as a society take a look at their brothers and sisters and ask "how are they being affected and what can we do to help them, too"?

I think, overall, schools, parents, counselors, etc. are trying their hardest. But when dealing with a mental health, behavior, or learning issue let's not forget to take a look at the other kids in the family, too. Especially when the family is dealing with major crises situations like Carleigh's brother's schizophrenia. (less)

Working through the holidays

I tried to work through Thanksgiving - taking breaks here and there from stuffing myself with sweet potatoes and gravy. It didn't really work out that well. Turns out that stuffing yourself too full will make you sleepy...and less likely to write. haha

But now I'm back to my usual routine and so hopefully this will get me writing more again. I've started a new project and I'm kind of psyched for i Read more of this blog post »

“As he stands a breath away
and takes me here tonight
my raging storm inside grows silent
and all the world is right”
Annalise Grey, Ramblings of a Tired Mind: Poems

“Ghosts are a perfect example of how the human world is limited by its own knowledge. Your kind doesn’t believe in them because you can’t calculate the human spirit. But the spirit is just another form of energy that you haven’t been able to quantify yet.”
Annalise Grey, Howl

“Perhaps in death one can find redemption. Kameron wonders who he refers to more in his thoughts – the others or himself. It is a question even he can’t answer.”

Good! Just busy with school work and kids. And trying to find time to write. LOL We're in winter up here and it's cooooold. We've had snow and plenty of ice lately. I'm a bit envious that you are in summer! Walk outside in the sunshine and think of your Yankee friends freezing their bums off!
