Just FYI, Crutches For Ducks is on a Kindle Countdown Deal today and tomorrow at just 99p. This makes the entire 'nostalgedy' collection a rather silly £4.26 for 2 days only. Just the thing to while away the dark December nights (and days if today is anything to go by)

Every Christmas I drag out my 'AlterNativity' series of stories (and usually try to add a new one). Here's the first, about the shepherds:http://www.abctales.com/story/philwhi...
Here's the second instalment of my alternative nativity - and it's been cherry-picked already!http://www.abctales.com/story/philwhi...
This is the newest instalment in my AlterNativity series of stories (only just finished!) Hope you like it.You know how irritating it can be when someone insists on telling you a joke? Well...

The fifth and (for this year, anyway) final instalment of the AlterNativity series of stories. Merry Christmas everyone!http://www.abctales.com/story/philwhi...
Happy New Year to everyone! I know I've trotted out this story before, but I think it bears re-reading:

This is the first episode in the ongoing Undertakers story, which first appeared on ReadWave, but now that that site is defunct:http://www.abctales.com/story/philwhi...
Part 2 of the Undertakers story, in which a sack truck and brute force come into play!http://www.abctales.com/story/philwhi...
and now Part 3 - In which an ill-advised remark might cause some consternation.http://www.abctales.com/story/philwhi...
This is the link to the column on the Derby Telegraph website:http://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/Phili...
Part 7 of the Undertakers story is doing quite well on ABCtales at the moment:http://www.abctales.com/story/philwhi...
This month's Derby Telegraph article is a bit of a eulogy for Terry Wogan:http://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/Bygon...
Anyone else noticed an increase in the number of people reading your book via Kindle Prime? Over the past few days I've had quite a number of pages read reported, whereas before there was next to nothing. I'm still not troubling the scorers much, but it is an interesting development.

I never know anything about my book sales or page reads because a friend does the publishing. They're on his dashboard. I find that the inability to check every day leads to a stress-free life!
Kath wrote: "I never know anything about my book sales or page reads because a friend does the publishing. They're on his dashboard. I find that the inability to check every day leads to a stress-free life!"I've only got one book where I get paid by the page. So far, nothing
Once in a while - about every 27th blue moon - my blue graph shoots up in to the hundreds and then - obviously scared of heights - plummets down to zero again where it seems content to spend most of its days.

Well I was just taking a short nap because it was nice and quiet in here. But then it started to get busy again.

'Busy' is a relative term, of course.

Goodness knows why or how :-)
I can only presume it gets these occasional bursts of activity when people turn their Kindle's Wifi on and it dumps the data it has stored up over the days and weeks since they last connected.I presume that if you have oodles of readers then the graph will be more even than if you just have a few - hence the spikes and (long) doldrums.

You may be right, David. I dream of oodles!
Philip wrote: "You may be right, David. I dream of oodles! ."That's okay. They can't touch you for it.
Part 11 of the Undertakers' story, which I knocked together between dreaming of oodles ;-)http://www.abctales.com/story/philwhi...
Although I say it, as shouldn't, I'm quite chuffed with this one:http://www.abctales.com/story/philwhi...
In which romance flares briefly, but is quickly snuffed out, in more ways than one.(I'll get somebody to like this if it kills me!)
