I reckon you've got Tizer there.

I suppose it ought to be. Perhaps Liquid Rust could be the new version ;-)

Burton has had a number of famous sons, but who was 'Steppin' Out' and asked 'Is She Really Going Out With Him?' Was it:
(a) Joe Bugner
(b) Joe Jackson
(c) Joe Gormley
PM the answer to me before midnight GMT on 18th March.

Forgot to tell you all the result of yesterday's competition. It was won by our very own Gingerlily who correctly identified that Burton-born Joe Jackson was the singer/songwriter of 'Steppin' Out' and 'Is She Really Going Out With Him?' Well done, GL, who wins a free advance copy of Giving a Bull Stawberries The 'nostalgedy' collection Book 4
There'll be a new competition at the weekend.

Born in Burton upon Trent on 1st November, 1934 as one of twins, this character actor was the son of our local District Nurse. He appeared in many of the popular TV series in the 1960s and 1970s, including The Saint and The Avengers.
That's your first clue. If anyone gets it on that basis alone, they can choose any of my other books as a prize as well! PM the answer to me as soon as you think you know it :-)

His twin sister's name is Shirley. He has three children, all of whom work in broadcasting in one form or another. One of his daughters is now more famous than he is for her dramatic roles. He is probably best known for playing Albert Frazer in 24 episodes of the original 1970's Onedin Line.

His children are Abigail and Samantha, both actresses, and Matthew, who is a film and TV journalist. Samantha is, arguably, the most famous of the three, appearing as Miss Moneypenny in the Pierce Brosnan Bond films.

His daughter, Samantha, was also Auntie Angela in the hit comedy series 'Outnumbered' and she also played Lady Rosaumund Painswick in Downton Abbey.

You certainly have, GL. Perhaps you could give someone else a hint ;-)

Regrettably, neither do I but I was hoping their popularity might help ;-)

Yep, he sure is. His mum lived around the corner from us and was a very well respected lady in the town.

Have you entered your cover in Joel Friedlander's cover comp? Lots of useful comments on other writer's books. I've entered mine and had some useful advice.

Thanks Jan. No, I haven't but will do so after it has been published at the end of this week.

Here are all the clues to date:

A quick trip to Google should get you the answer, I should think ;-)

But good luck with the book :) Hope it sells well.

GL knew it but she had already won a previous competition and there's a limit to how many copies of

I've parted with hundreds of copies for free and it never seems to make a blind bit of difference to the sales of the others, as you would hope it might. I agree that you never really know if anyone, apart from those who leave a review, have actually read your books but it seems to me that making a definite commitment to buy something, even if it is only 99p, makes it more likely you will read it at some point.

You would think so, but apparently most readers can't remember which ones were free when they check their TBR list.

Possibly, but if they're anything like me, Jan, they probably have a batch of books that they've downloaded which never get off the bottom of the list because they're always being replaced by books you have bought because you really want to read them. I call them my 'guilt pile' because I know I ought to either give them a chance or delete them, but I can't bring myself to do either ;-)

I've done this btw.

Good luck. He gives some useful advice. I usually enter the comp with my e-book covers before I go into print so that I can make any suggested changes.

I now have answered all of the standard questions on the Ask the Author thing and I've linked my You Tube 'video' to my profile - have a butchers' if you get a moment :-)
