Welcome, Jennifer!

Too true.I thought about putting Mercy in the slots for Drama but I decided that I wanted to read 1st in series (so I would know whether or not to order the next). The Changelings got Soap Opera covered, plus an "N". I can always slot Iron Kissed into the "I" slot and Kitty can fill the V for Vaughn.
I feel so much better now. ;-)

Yeah, no problem. ;-) Then again, I picked Cat, too, for "Buffy", so I'm biased. So are several others who've already listed one of the NH books in that category. ;-D

Funny thing, I was initially hesitant to put Cat there, too. But even when Buffy was dating Angel, she was sill killing vamps, so...
Ooo. Deadtown. I forgot I had that! Hmmm. Maybe I switch to that one for zombies..

What she said...You have a great list, Steph.

What do you think?
#4: "Vampire Diaries" (1 BOOK): Deeper Than Midnight
Read a series book featuring vamp brothers -OR- shifters -OR- both vamps & shifters who are enemies~the "enemies" part is only applicable to vamps & shifters, or applies to all 3 categories?
#7: "The Walking Dead" (1 BOOK): TBD! Maybe Heart of Steel
Read a series book featuring zombies (Sorry, I love this show, so I had to include it)**How prevalent do the zombies have to be? Like a main character, or a background bit/minor character?
#8: "Buffy" (1 BOOK): One Grave at a Time
Read a series book with a character who is a vampire slayer Does Cat still count as a slayer? Or, would her old team be the qualifier? Or, could I just switch and use this for zombies?
#10: "Being Human" (1 BOOK): Hunt the Moon or Sacrificial Magic
Read a series book featuring a ghost -OR- vamps and weres who are friendly, instead of enemies ~the "friendly" part is only applicable to vamps & weres, or applies to both categories? (friendly ghosts?)

Judithe ~ #4 is good to go (vamp bros; like BDB ok); #7 zombies just have to play a part in the story somehow, can be background, definitely do not have to be main character; #8 Everyone ok'd my choice for Cat as a slayer, so yep, that one is a go; #10 the "friendly" part only applies to vamps and weres in the story, not the ghost part. :D

So...tentative list is SET! How many times will it change between now & the finish is absolutely uncertain! But, happily reading away!

Elizabeth, just above the comment box is a link that says add book/author. Click on that and it gives you the option of the book link or the cover, when you type in the book's name.
It will always put either the link or the cover at the bottom of your post and you just cut and paste and put them where you want them.
Hope that makes sense and hope you enjoy your first challenge :)

I'm putting my list together now and am making a few bonus categories for myself--there are lots of new paranormal shows since Steph made this challege. ;)
Falling Skies *aliens*
Game of Thrones *straight fantasy*
Alphas *human-plus*
Teen Wolf *shifter*

But I have a rec for you, anyway. It's a mix of straight fantasy & PNR. Read: hot dudes & sexy times. ;)

I'm going to go nose around in your shelves, Steph..."
Well....it's Confessor - the last book in the Sword of Truth series. A coworker gave me 3 of the books a few years ago. But, the ones I got were from the middle of the series! I read about 40 pages of the first one I had, decided I loved it. Felt like I was missing out on lots of previous stuff and promptly scoured the local used bookstores to find the rest of them. Read them straight thru, but Confessor wasn't even out yet.....
Steph - The Black Jewels books are AWESOME!!! I have The Black Jewels Trilogy: Daughter of the Blood, Heir to the Shadows, Queen of the Darkness here and have read it a couple of times. Originally borrowed it from a friend of my DD. Still trying to collect all the others.

I've read all but the most recent Black Jewels book and they're all great, but the original trilogy is still the best.

I have to admit that I have a bit of an 'older-man' crush on Saetan. Any man that can father Daemon AND Lucivar has got his hormones in order, thank you very much.
Whew! Is it hot in here? *fans self*

I've read all but the most recent Black Jewels book and they're all great, but the original trilogy is still t..."
Laura.....what can I say????? When I finally managed to get my hands on the book, I was in the midst of my book-swapping game frenzy at PBS. I love those games.....they are every bit as addictive as the challenges here!
Also, it seemed like every book I read for about 2-3 years was erotica. Most of the games I played were genre specific - either erotica or PnR. It's just been this last year that I've gotten "back to my roots" and started reading UF and PnR that isn't also erotica!
Now that I'm back into reading a mixture of genres I'm itching to get to that one and a couple of psychological thrillers I've collected. Chelsea Cain rocks!

If I've been paying attention, you seem to like darker stuff, correct Steph? (I know you like lots of stuff, just sayin'.) TBJ are quite dark, enough that I wince a bit on these. Really good though and nothing is gratuitous. There is never a violent moment that isn't specifically about plot development or charater building. I hope you like them when you can unearth them!
