Kirsten (kmcripn) Great advice found in a cozy mystery: "we should only be judged on two things: if we're kind, and if we read books"

Art Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House

CD | 112 comments I've got 暗殺教室 1 Ansatsu Kyoushitsu 1 on the current reading shelf.

Flying octopus that appears nearly omnipotent in this graphic novel is the center of the story thus far.

Lots of fun and it may mean I have to read more of the series.

RJ - Slayer of Trolls (hawk5391yahoocom) I finished A Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula K. Le Guin, loved it and gave it 5 stars. Amazing prose - so much said in so few words. Looking forward to the rest of the series and other works by Le Guin.

Phillip Murrell I’m almost done with Fid’s Crusade. Think of a slightly more socially conscious Lex Luthor.

Fid's Crusade

It’s pretty good just not for me.

message 1835: by Jess (new)

Jess (drinkcoffeeandreadbooks) | 1 comments I know I'm a little late but I'm reading Altered Carbon by Richard K. Morgan. I'm really excited to get into the Takeshi Kovacs series!

message 1836: by MadProfessah (new)

MadProfessah (madprofesssah) | 76 comments You’re in for a treat!! The Takeshita Kovacs books are a blast. If I re-read those are some of the books I would re-4read soon before Season 2 of the Netflix show comes out.

RJ - Slayer of Trolls (hawk5391yahoocom) Right now I'm reading:

Old Man's War (Old Man's War, #1) by John Scalzi
Old Man's War by John Scalzi - my favorite Scalzi book so far (of course that's not saying much...)

Cugel's Saga by Jack Vance
Cugel's Saga by Jack Vance - #3 in the Dying Earth series

To Say Nothing of the Dog (Oxford Time Travel, #2) by Connie Willis
To Say Nothing of the Dog by Connie Willis - very lighthearted SF time travel homage to the Victorian Age classic Three Men in a Boat

non-genre books:

We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson
Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides
March Violets by the recently deceased Philip Kerr
The Raw Shark Texts by Steven Hall

message 1844: by Silvana (new)

RJ - Slayer of Trolls (hawk5391yahoocom) I finished Herland by Charlotte Perkins Gilman Herland by Charlotte Perkins Gilman. It's a feminist Uptopian story written and serialized in 1915. Although somewhat dated Gilman's points must have been cutting edge at the time. I enjoyed it and gave it 3 stars.

message 1850: by MadProfessah (new)

MadProfessah (madprofesssah) | 76 comments Instead of PROVENANCE I read THE TWELVE by Justin Cronin instead.
