Lol, I'm here because I don't want to start a new book before tomorrow and I have to prepare lunch only in an hour! :D
I'm new here and I want to read a book but I don't know where to click in order to read. It's all very confusing here. Help me please.
Annie wrote: "I'm new here and I want to read a book but I don't know where to click in order to read. It's all very confusing here. Help me please."You don't have to click and read on Goodreads. Here we only share opinions about books we have read, or we read books together or look for recommendations from other readers.
If you want to read, then you need a book or an ebook or an audiobook.
Hi, I'm Aditi Bhalla from Chennai, working in Marketing for an HCIT Co. I love Fiction. These days I'm helping my husband launch his debut novels in India.
I'm ecstatic and excited to be a part of this club :)
On the lines of Group Book Reads and Book of the month, it would be very helpful for new Authors if a topic focuses on "Books by New Authors"The group can select or comment on books written by "Not so famous authors".
Disclaimer: I have a vested interest, and am looking for readers for my book, which according to me, is well written. 😊😉

Our Group Book reads always have books nominated by members of the group and they are the ones who vote for them too.
Practically, it's really difficult to sustain a monthly group read of books by "not so famous authors" as you put it.
However, you can promote your book or look for reviewers in the relevant folders.

Sumant Gupta , good luck. Shoa has explained it precisely .
At request of authors, we started a group activity where an author nominates their book and interested readers join in, and the author initiates discussion . But the thread went dud as no one , including the new authors didn't show much interest, once it was in place

Newbies, even if they are authors, will take time to adjust to the group values and culture. Maybe, that is one reason why the thread went dead.
But it is true that there will be a lot of “hit & run” type posts.
Thanks to you & Shoa, for the prompt reply to my post.
Hi there, I am Nilanjana Haldar. I love the warmth in this group. I am new here. I am an author and would like to promote my book. May I know where I can do it? The link?

Hi allGreat to find this group. I was looking for Indian book clubs to plug my book and happened to find you guys. Would love to discuss books with you and also sneak in mentions of my own (in the promo folder).
Hi. I am Nita. Always been an avid reader but not been too comfortable with online social networks. I joined GR earlier this year after realising that few people in my real life are avid readers or writers! I have joined a book club and a writers group too, in real life. Better late than never I guess. I like to discuss books. And there is also the fact that now I am an author. I will only post information about that in the promo folder but it's good to connect with people like me.
HI, I am an avid reader. Romance, Fantasy, Scifi, thriller... anything fiction apart from horror - I scare easily! :). My first love is romance and I love discussing books, of any kind. The number of Harry Potter questions I ask, my friends hate road trips with me.I would love to connect with like minded people.
I am also an author. Just published my first romance book. Will post about that in promo folder.
Hello everyone. I am new to the group and appreciate the welcome. looking forward to more book suggestions and discussions on new and old books and topics.
hi Anitha, Nita, Iris and Swathi

jyoti ... you can always revive it. Do post in appropriate threads and interested persons will respond. I used to try to keep the group alive , but am tired and disillusioned nowadays.
there's no official whatsapp group for this group, mainly due to the numbers and safety issues .

Hi Jyoti, many of us here have benefitted through this group in the exact same way you have stated your expectation! So I am sure the legacy will continue :)
A fellow Philosophy-lover - would recommend Camus and Kundera to start with! (assuming Ayn Rand and the usual suspects are off your list)

Hi, just joined today. Looking to find and discuss new (to me) and interesting books. I read most genres and try to read books from all over the world.
Hello readers, I was in lookout for a community of good readers to receive honest reviews on my very first fiction work. I believe I am at the right place. Please do review of my work!
Hi Darshana,
You can post your book under promotions thread. interested readers may reach out to you!

Hi! I am new to this group and I would like to know that you guys will help me in locating good novels to read as I am an amateur in locating good novels. I would really love your help..
Tharani wrote: "Hi! I am new to this group and I would like to know that you guys will help me in locating good novels to read as I am an amateur in locating good novels. Hi all,TBF I have not been much active on Goodreads but I'm always to be found with my nose between the pages of a book. Just re-reading Harry Potter and Twilight series these days. Also on my shelf is 50 shades of grey and Game of Thrones. This year will be busy for me.
Hello Gurdeesh, wish you luck in here. Also hopefully you'll pick some recs so that rereading becomes equal with discovering new books. GR rewards those who are active.
