You are our Honorary Moderator :)"
Lol, I'm here because I don't want to start a new book before tomorrow and I have to prepare lunch only in an hour! :D

You don't have to click and read on Goodreads. Here we only share opinions about books we have read, or we read books together or look for recommendations from other readers.
If you want to read, then you need a book or an ebook or an audiobook.

These days I'm helping my husband launch his debut novels in India.
I'm ecstatic and excited to be a part of this club :)

The group can select or comment on books written by "Not so famous authors".
Disclaimer: I have a vested interest, and am looking for readers for my book, which according to me, is well written. 😊😉

Our Group Book reads always have books nominated by members of the group and they are the ones who vote for them too.
Practically, it's really difficult to sustain a monthly group read of books by "not so famous authors" as you put it.
However, you can promote your book or look for reviewers in the relevant folders.

Sumant Gupta , good luck. Shoa has explained it precisely .
At request of authors, we started a group activity where an author nominates their book and interested readers join in, and the author initiates discussion . But the thread went dud as no one , including the new authors didn't show much interest, once it was in place

Newbies, even if they are authors, will take time to adjust to the group values and culture. Maybe, that is one reason why the thread went dead.
But it is true that there will be a lot of “hit & run” type posts.
Thanks to you & Shoa, for the prompt reply to my post.

I am an author and would like to promote my book. May I know where I can do it? The link?
hi Nilanjana

Great to find this group. I was looking for Indian book clubs to plug my book and happened to find you guys. Would love to discuss books with you and also sneak in mentions of my own (in the promo folder).

I would love to connect with like minded people.
I am also an author. Just published my first romance book. Will post about that in promo folder.

hi Anitha, Nita, Iris and Swathi
Writers are welcome here , in the promo threads :)
But I have seen a couple of dedicated groups for writers here in Goodreads...

Hi Niz! Welcome to the group! I've steeredd clear of horror my whole life. With the exception of Goosebumps which made up a very huge and special part of my childhood! 😁❤

jyoti ... you can always revive it. Do post in appropriate threads and interested persons will respond. I used to try to keep the group alive , but am tired and disillusioned nowadays.
there's no official whatsapp group for this group, mainly due to the numbers and safety issues .

Hi Jyoti, many of us here have benefitted through this group in the exact same way you have stated your expectation! So I am sure the legacy will continue :)
A fellow Philosophy-lover - would recommend Camus and Kundera to start with! (assuming Ayn Rand and the usual suspects are off your list)

Welcome, Tharani. You will fit right in. The same enthusiastic love of books animates most of us here. See you at the games section too.

TBF I have not been much active on Goodreads but I'm always to be found with my nose between the pages of a book. Just re-reading Harry Potter and Twilight series these days. Also on my shelf is 50 shades of grey and Game of Thrones. This year will be busy for me.
