At the top of your comment screen you should see add book/author ... click on that and search for your book. From the search/result popup, you should be able to choose either link or cover ... select cover; and then 'add' it to your comment.

Carole Pitt (magog) | 21 comments An ex-Disney employee haunted by his hero's song... A sharp-talking cowboy who can't quite outrun his destiny... A man closer to Captain Kirk than could possibly be healthy... This is Pop Fiction: Stories Inspired by Songs - the literary equivalent of the greatest mix tape ever recorded. Influenced by everyone from The Clash to The Fall, via David Bowie and, er, Olivia Newton-John, Pop Fiction's stories mix styles as eclectic as the songs which have inspired them, and showcase nine talented new voices as they celebrate one art form's impact on another. Contributing authors: Karen Snape-Williams, Tom Singleton, Daniel Lewis, Marc Nash, Jacky Cowper, Lee Williams, Lev Parikian, Carole Pitt, Aís.

Helen Smith (emperorsclothes) | 1 comments The Miracle Inspector by Helen Smith The Miracle Inspector is reduced to $2.99 for a couple of weeks because the paperback is coming out September 4th.

There's a great review for it over at Layered Pages.

"A refreshingly original piece of literature, The Miracle Inspector will spur you to think in new ways. Helen Smith has created a world where women are so marginalized in futuristic London that they cannot leave their homes without full body coverings. Although the setting is in the future, the story is not set so far in the future as to be unbelievable or unrecognizable which only serves to further invest the reader in the journey."

There's also one at The Momus Report.

"The pleasures of this book are the means Smith employs to dance around our expectations and its extrapolations from contemporary nanny state idiocies or government infringements on constitutional rights. Lucas and Angela are also both, in their respective ways, incredibly vulnerable. Their lives are reduced to extended acts of mummery, like kids dressed in their parents clothing. This is affecting and heart-breaking fare, with a sly wit."

And another at Between the Pages.

"I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Dystopia is one of my favourite genres, and fans of such books as Nineteen Eighty-Four and The Handmaid’s Tale, would almost certainly enjoy this novel. I found it scarily believable; a world that was all too easy to imagine, where fear of paedophilia and terrorism has curtailed people’s freedom to an extreme level."

Finally it's a Book Club Pick over at Bookfabulous.

"This is a very interesting thought-provoking book. A fantastic book club pick. I enjoyed its directness and the power it gives to the reader's imagination to fill in the gaps rendering it a work of horror at times. Although laced with humour this is far from a humorous read. Dark and disturbing where at times survival alone is a miracle in disguise!"

Seb (sebkirby) | 25 comments Hi

Double Bind by Seb Kirby

Just to say that Double Bind is available at $2.99.

A recent review from here at Goodreads:

'Another great mystery/thriller from Seb Kirby. His début novel 'Take No More' was excellent and Double Bind, his newest release, is even better. Tightly written with ever building tension Mr. Kirby asks some very fundamental questions about identity and our 'uniqueness'. It's hard to review without giving away the incredible twists and turns of the novel but I highly recommend this novel. If you haven't yet discovered Mr. Kirby now is an excellent time and I also strongly suggest you try 'Take No More' as well if you're a lover of great mystery/thrillers.'

Best wishes

Seb

Stephanie (stephieja) | 19 comments When Angels Fall by Stephanie Jackson

When Angels Fall by Stephanie Jackson $1.99
Danielle Coulter had never believed in anything except her mother, hard work and heartache. She never had time for religious fairytales. But when her mother died, Dani was forced to believe…or die.
Not only was she forced to accept that God and Lucifer are real, but also that she is the last living descent of God on Earth. An undeniable fact when the Archangel Gabriel fell to Earth to protect her.
Archangel Gabriel; banished from Heaven over four million years ago for refusing to kill his brother, Lucifer, was about to get a second chance to re-enter Heaven. He was sent to Earth on a mission from his Father to protect the last Daughter of God; the last woman to carry the Blood of God on Earth, and kill his brother, once and for all.
Gabriel had never expected to feel anything for Dani, but he soon found himself willing to fight Heaven and Hell to keep her safe, even if it meant his own destruction.
