Stephanie (stephieja) | 19 comments When Angels Fall by Stephanie Jackson
Danielle Coulter had never believed in anything except her mother, hard work and heartache. She never had time for religious fairytales. But when her mother died, Dani was forced to believe…or die.
Not only was she forced to accept that God and Lucifer are real, but also that she is the last living descent of God on Earth. An undeniable fact when the Archangel Gabriel fell to Earth to protect her.
Archangel Gabriel; banished from Heaven over four million years ago for refusing to kill his brother, Lucifer, was about to get a second chance to re-enter Heaven. He was sent to Earth on a mission from his Father to protect the last Daughter of God; the last woman to carry the Blood of God on Earth, and kill his brother, once and for all.
Gabriel had never expected to feel anything for Dani, but he soon found himself willing to fight Heaven and Hell to keep her safe, even if it meant his own destruction.

Stephanie (stephieja) | 19 comments The Undead Heart (#1 in the 3 book Blood Thirst Series)
Rebecca Stockdale had enough issues in her life; parents that hated her for the strange abilities that she had been born with, she was about to move away from her sister and only friend, Bev, and she had had a really bad date that would change her forever.
Just when she was about to escape the drama that she had always lived in, Richard, a vampyre, walked into her life and shattered her reality with one request; travel back in time to 1888 to stop a psychopathic vampyre bent on revenge and save the family she never knew she had.
She would be joined on her journey by a band of vampyre hunters. Hunters who, centuries ago, had vowed to slay all vampyres. A vow they set aside to protect the family that they had come to love, knowing that the outcome of that decision would be an eventual battle. A battle of decapitation and blood; a battle they may not survive.
She was leaving a life she would kill to get away from for a family she would gladly die to protect, but could she do it? Could she make it back alive? Did she possess the strength and courage it would take to change the past and save their future?
She was about to find out.

The Undead Heart is a tale of love, life, horror, humor and family and is the first novel in The Blood Thirst Series.

Marian Schwartz | 20 comments The Last Season, The Story of a Marriage, will be free on November 18 and 19.

http://www.amazon.com/Last-Season-Sto...

Ginger and Buddy Middleton have been married for twenty-seven years, and they are as hungry for each other as they were when they were first married. The only subject they scrupulously avoid talking about is Buddy’s abrupt decision early in their marriage to leave a promising career as a professional baseball player. Ginger believes that she is to blame for his quitting, as does everyone they know; and Buddy, by his silence on the subject, has never done anything to dispel the notion.

The novel opens with Ginger hoping to launch a career as a journalist. She is restless and bored: she has quit selling real estate, their sons are away at college, and Buddy is busy teaching high school math and coaching football. Using skills she learned selling real estate, she snares an interview with the elusive real estate developer Avery Laird. When the article is finished, Laird offers her a part-time job at a large salary. She more than earns her salary, but Buddy still has suspicions about the job, and while the three of them are having dinner, he asks Laird what his intentions are. Laird replies, “I intend to marry your wife.” Ginger doesn’t take this seriously; however, Buddy isn’t sure. Soon after, a friend of Buddy’s with whom he played baseball comes for a visit and tells Ginger the true reason Buddy quit. Then their lives begin to unravel.

Ginger and Buddy, each with a unique voice and point-of view, alternately tell the story of their marriage and their family. They are engaging people you would like to have as friends.

Marian Schwartz | 20 comments My novel, REALITIES, will be free Sunday, November 25 and Monday, November 26.

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0092GV82W

Jenny Weaver is smart, she's funny, and she's so lonely it hurts.

A year after her husband’s suicide, Jenny Weaver impulsively moves from a suburb in the Northeast to California. Her young children adjust to the move, but she does not. She has made only one friend, and she isn’t sure of how to handle the children’s problems. Matthew developed a stutter after his father’s suicide that seems to be getting worse, and Catherine is a perfectionist. In a moment of deep frustration and loneliness, she begins writing to her dead husband, Richard, establishing an intimate connection in which she tells him about her daily life—the workplace bullying she experiences, the difficulties of single parenting and, after some hesitation, a new romance.

She also writes about the past, the forces that led to the destruction of their marriage and the life they had worked hard to build. When the past becomes threatening, she decides not to write to him anymore, but she finds it impossible to stop. The answer to their children’s question-- “How-and why-did-Daddy-die?”—is in the past, and she can’t hide from the truth forever.
