Greetings all,have just joined the group and have to admit, I don't own a Kindle, but I do use Kindle for PC and Android - makes life so easy. I prefer DRM free books so that I can read them on my BeBook too. Hope to find some good recs in the group.

Cat's Call - YA (with a mind for adult readers as well), contemporary fantasy. Magic, shape changing, mutliple worlds, good vs evil, even one anti-social vampire hanging around.
Sacrifice of an Angel - Contemporary fantasy with a side of murder mystery set in the home counties UK. Think Harry Potter (with grownups) mixed with Midsommer Murders type of thing.Now to go see what I should be reading :)
Over twenty years ago, I had surgery for scoliosis. During which time Shriner's Hospital for Children offered to pay if our insurance wouldn't.I'm a fairly new author. I've published a novel and two novellas with two more novels set to come out this year. Recently, two of my children were diagnosed with severe scoliosis. This brought back memeories of what Shriner's had thought to do for me.
So for every copy of "The Perfect Rose" I sell during the month of June through the publisher's website I will donate 50% of my personal profit to Shriner's Hospital for Children. I mention this here because the book costs $2.99. :)

Thereafter is a lovely novel about loss, resurrection, and how the death of a child resonates far beyond the lives of her parents. It's funny, too. Go figure.

The story is a pseudo-historical fantasy with gay protagonists (which doesn't mean that everybody and his uncle is gay). There is fighting, a lot of political and dynastic intrigue, mingled with romance, often of the explicit kind.
Readers of m/m-romances seem to like them, but I was wondering whether 'teh big bad gay' was preventing readers of (pseudo)historical fiction to try them out.
