If you are interested in a action-filled, post-apocalptic love story check out After the Virus! Averaging 4.5 stars on Amazon (out of 10 reviews) and 3.75 stars on Goodreads (out of 8 reviews)...Goodreads readers are obviously harder to please - ha!
Hopefully you enjoy the read!!

Wow, some really great books in this thread; should have come by sooner! I just bought a couple I had never heard of, and didn't even spend 5 bucks. I almost feel guilty. (Almost.)
Gertie, glad you found some good new books! There are a lot of amazing sounding novels on this thread.

Then you should be very busy indeed, Joanne.

Blurb:
A teenage girl suffering from a family tragedy, Maddie Clevenger is oblivious to the ancient mystery surrounding her. She's young and incredibly unlucky, in life and in love. She should be enjoying her senior year of high school, but instead she is tormented by a reoccurring nightmare and a very real stalker. But all that changes when Chase Donovan, an Air Force brat with a protective streak, shows up at school. Will Chase be the key to helping her solve her stalker problem? Will he be the key to solving the mystery surrounding her family's past?
If you like, then the sequel is already published as well! Although it is a tad more than the $2.99 mentioned here.

Thanks!

Blurb:
Rafael, son of a leading fashion figure in Spain, mounts an aggressive take-over bid for the English factory owned by Katrina’s father.
Katrina finds herself fighting with Rafael on a number of levels; her growing fascination with him, his shameless character, her conviction that he may be implicated with fraud, and his unwarranted aversion towards her friend, Francine.
Rafael tries to delve into her mysterious past, but there are dark secrets that Katrina declines to recognize or explain. The enigma corkscrews as the hesitant relationship with Rafael progresses.
TREACHERY is a contemporary novel, with dark secrets, and steamy relationships.

While I'm here I'd like to mention my newest release.

This novel was my first written work. It took me to years to make this book become a reality. I'm just thrilled to have it out there.
Thanks for the opportunity to share my story!

Thanks for the heads-up Felicia. I have purchased your book for my kindle. I hope to read it soon but I have a stack of 15 books that I have won that I need to read. I will write a review after I read it. Your book looks so interesting. It is one of the few books I can find that is not set in the Regency period. I wish more authors like you would write in something other than that time period.

In 1963, New Orleans’ French Quarter is rocked by the gruesome murder of a wealthy businessman, and Detective Richard Mobey finds himself intertwined in the lives of a family about to unravel from generational secrets. The widowed detective faces the choice of following his instincts or his heart as he investigates Hattie Lee, the primary suspect found lying next to the corpse. The protection of Alaskan oil, shady politics and CIA operatives converge to muddy the investigation, leading him down a treacherous path. As Mobey struggles to rebuild his personal life, he unwittingly becomes an integral part of the most infamous assassination of all time. The ultimate whodunit. Don’t miss the final erotic twist as the killer strives to explain not only the necessity, but the ultimate justice for committing murder.

Meg, your book sounds interesting. Having grown up in New Orleans and lived there in 1963 I am even more intrigued. I have added it to my "to read" list and have downloaded a sample from Amazon. Will the $2.99 be a limited time price? Just curious if I should snap it up now or if I can wait until I have read the sample.

Both of Axel Brand's newest Lieutenant Sonntag Mysteries are $2.99. Night Medicine and The Saboteur (just released this week).

Barley Hole was for my great grandfather Canaan, the land of milk and honey. For my father, it was paradise lost and for my mother, Barley Hole was a curse. It was a place that haunted her spirit and her soul throughout her life. To me, Barley Hole is a name forever etched on the map of my family's heart; it is where betrayal and injustice nearly thrust us into oblivion.
The Barley Hole Chronicles are an odyssey of the human spirit that stretch across time and geography to incorporate, diverse personalities, personal hardships, World Wars and the struggle for peace and love, in a society fallen from grace. These Chronicles document one Yorkshire family's decent into the wilderness of poverty and hunger. It is a personal record of one young man's struggle to survive the great depression, the Second World War and the hazards and wonders of life in post war Germany. The Barley Hole Chronicles are a summation of two memoirs by Harry Leslie Smith 1923 and Hamburg 1947. The Barley Hole Chronicles are a true account of a time and place when life, full of raw emotion, was never so real. It is also a social history of the 20th century at its bloodiest and deadliest time.

"Twenty-two years old and ready for peace, Harry Leslie Smith has survived the Great Depression and endured the Second World War. Now, in 1945 in Hamburg, Germany, he must come to terms with a nation physically and emotionally devastated. In this memoir, he narrates a story of people searching to belong and survive in a world that was almost destroyed.
Hamburg 1947 recounts Smith’s youthful RAF days as part of the occupational forces in post-war Germany. A wireless operator during the war, he doesn’t want to return to Britain and join a queue of unemployed former servicemen; he reenlists for long term duty in occupied Germany. From his billet in Hamburg, a city razed to the ground by remorseless aerial bombardment, he witnesses a people and era on the brink of annihilation. This narrative presents a street-level view of a city reduced to rubble populated with refugees, black marketers, and cynical soldiers.
At times grim and other times amusing, Smith writes a memoir relaying the social history about this time and place, providing a unique look at post-WWII Germany. Hamburg 1947 is both a love story for a city and a passionate retailing of a love affair with a young German woman."Hamburg 1947: A Place for the Heart to Kip

For lovers of historical/literary fiction (and perhaps coming-of-age too), River in the Sea is available for 2.99.
Description:
At fifteen, Leen De Graaf likes everything she shouldn’t: smoking cigarettes, wearing red lipstick, driving illegally, and working in the fields. It seems the only thing she shares with her fellow Dutchmen is a fear of the German soldiers stationed nearby and a frantic wish for the war to end. When a soldier’s dog runs in front of Leen’s truck, her split-second reaction sets off a storm of events that pitches her family against the German forces when they are most desperate – and fierce. Leen tries to hold her family together, but despite her efforts, bit by bit everything falls apart, and just when Leen experiences a horrific loss, she must make a decision that could forever brand her a traitor, yet finally allow her to live as her heart desires. Inspired by the life of the author’s mother, River in the Sea is a powerful and moving account of one girl reaching adulthood when everything she believes about family, friendship, and loyalty is questioned by war.
“Tina Boscha’s prose is exemplary; her protagonist in River in the Sea is highly sympathetic; and her setting of Friesland, Netherlands, is alive with details. I fell in love with her tender gaze at the world she creates.”
-Samrat Upadhyay, author of The Guru of Love
