Yes, I know they're nessesary, but I'm ever so slightly obsessed with Finnick. I <3 him!!!
Its not because he's hot! Underneath that act he puts on to protect himself, he's just so sweet and nice. In book three when Annie was having trouble at the lunch table, and covering her ears, Finnick talked to her and comforted her and coaxed her back into the real world basically. I love him so much for his personality. I honestly don't see a hot Guy in my mind when I picture Finnick. I picture the guy who has a Chernobyl melt down of the mind when his love is in danger. Oh Finnick...
yeah i agree
i was crushing on gale as well
i was crushing on gale as well

I agree with you Diana. I crushed on Peeta HARD :D If only he was real... <3

For me it was ALWAYS Peeta <3 ...Even at the beginning when Gale was the main guy.

Doesn't she love Peeta enough to have his children???!!! I felt that Katniss never did choose Peeta over Gale. It felt like...if Gale didn't cause Prim's death Katniss would have chosen him. Peeta just picked up the pieces and leftover or something
:( super sad for Peeta. Katniss doesn't realize how much Peeta sacrificed for her. Peeta's family is DEAD. He only has one leg. No the metal one is not real. It's fake so it doesn't count. He was brainwashed for god's sake T.T SC should have given Katniss some epiphany that the one she loves is Peeta and Gale is just a cold hearted jerk....why was the novel rushed!!!??? There was no detail of what happens to them after...i felt cheated:( Oh! and Finnick shouldn't have died. didn't the girl he was in love with have enough being crazy??? I did like that...Katniss said, "What
I need to survive is not Gale's fire, kindled with rage and hatred. I have plenty of fire myself. What I
need is the dandelion in the spring. The bright yellow that means rebirth instead of destruction. The
promise that life can go on, no matter how bad our losses. That it can be good again. And only Peeta
can give me that."............
She should have elaborated more on that!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree-if no one died, and they all lived happily after and Katniss ran away with Prince Peeta or Gale or whatever to live in a sugar castle with licrocice trees, cotton candy bushes, and furniture made of bubblegum it would be the worst book ever. The ending suited the series, and Suzanne Collins tends to write sad books about poor people, and if you don't believe me then read Gregor The Overlander and the rest of the Underland Cronciles. It would be weird if it weren't the way it is and i LOVE it-so that is a fine reason why Suzanne Collins chose to end the Hunger Games Trilogy the way she did

I agree with you Dian..."
Oh my gosh-if Peeta was real I CALL HIM!
*Shoves Annie out of way* that means Finnick is real too!! Hi gorgeous!! Wait!! What am I doing?? I think I should just be Annie. Go ahead and call me that!!

Is anyone else seeing the comment box at the top of the page?

Also i thought when we found out that Gale just got up and left i wanted to scream and shout, because i seriously couldnt believe he would do that! it was as if everything we had learnt about his character was thrown out the window. And as for Katniss then going on to have CHILDREN with Peeta, well that was just like a massive slap in the face. All we heard about in 3 books was how much Katniss didnt want kids and them BAM shes got some. I was just left feeling that towards the end she was writing for writings sake and wanted to stub out all possibilities of writing out another book. I personally from reading the books, and what i got from the characters can't believe that Katniss would have eneded up with Peeta and they would have had children, but thats my personal opinion. I also would have thought it would be important to follow Peeta through his highjack recovery, and see how we would have gotten to the stage were he and Katniss could be together and go on to have a family.
I just ended up closing the book on a massive downer, and feeling a little let down.
But anywho i love love love the books so forgive its shoddy finish.

Yes!!!!! I can't believe she killed Finnick off either!!!!!! (Barbra! Post a sad/cry face for me!!)

I don't like how Mockingjay ended. I don't feel like you get to enjoy it completely. You start to go AAAAAA, but then you're cut off and don't get to go AAAAAHHHHH. It feels like a cop-out.
Maybe it wasn't Suzanne Collin's fault though, maybe it was the editor...

I've talked with a couple...ok, one...author who said her old editor was terrible, so yeah...

I liked Mockingjay, but it took a turn for the worse to me. First of all, I hated the whole district 13 setting. I wanted more Katniss and Peeta. I felt the same way about New Moon (I wanted Bella and Edward). I HATED that Prim was killed. I HATED that she just kind of silently exited Gale to the left. My biggest HATE of them all was that Katniss was exiled back to District 12 and labeled insane instead of a HERO for killing Coin. That made no sense to me what so ever.
If someone killed your political leader who you thought was saving you from a tyrannical government, don't you think you would exile them, or even execute them?

I didn't like it, one bit.
Yeah, I know what you mean, I didn't like it either. It went way too fast. But it isn't too far from what would have happened. They were in the middle of a revolution and with all major political leaders gone, there wouldn't be much organization, or fairness...

Ratch, your thoughts from the other side makes a lot of sense. It was just hard to see that for my hero. :-(
Yeah, I actually didn't think of it that way until I typed it up. I just wish, i dunno, that there was something more to the end of the book, it was a real disappointment.

I also thought it was weird how they made the commander from District 13 the new President. Like it just seemed like the most random decision on SC's part. Although there might not have been any other options, because it wouldn't have worked if she would have made Katniss president. It just seemed like she randomly picked that commander from D13 to be the new president without much thought.
I don't think that Coin was a random pick at all. She was leading the revolution after all. If you think of other revolutions in world history, isn't it one of the people, or the main one person, leading the revolution that become(s) the new leader?

I knew they'd make Coin the new President and I agreed with Katniss that she couldn't take that position. If she would have become President she would have run the country the same way as Snow, or maybe even more ruthless and dystopian. I was happy that Katniss took Coin out, although it was surprising how it happened!
I was happy too, though a bit shocked. Then bow snow drowned on his own blood... that was just weird.

Oh, ok, yeah, I guess I need to reread them if I'm getting stuff mixed up, but anything is an excuse to reread them!

I used to read TONS of books........ then The Hunger Games came along.... now I'm lucky to be interested in anything.... that and the public library doesn't like me......

yeh it can mess you up a little, especially that moment when you've just finnish mockingjay and your like "what the hell am I supposed to do now?"
There's lots of other dystopian books out there! Have you ever read Matched by Ally Condie, that one even has a love triangle!
