Erin | 6 comments Recommendations for Leah *Silk Desire* *~*Nate's Kitty Cat*~*

This was kind of difficult because this was my first time doing the pick-it-for-me plus Leah and I have pretty different tastes. I really liked all the books I am recommending so hopefully you can find something you will enjoy!

Friend - The Elusive Flame The first ever romance book I read, recommended to me by my mother. Plus I read it during spring break in April, nice coincidence.

Romance - A Knight in Shining Armor TT novel, I laughed and cried, it was great

Intense - Perfect There were definitely some intense "what will happen?" moments through out this book

Emotions - Bloodsucking Fiends: A Love Story I always prefer laughing over crying for an emotion, and this is a hilarious book but not a typical romance.

New - Only His Saw you didn't have any Lowell books, I loved this one because its western-y

Don't Forget - Outlander Its a thick one, but it comes highly recommended. I am currently listening to it on Audible

Support - The Bronze Horseman I am starting to regret putting this in my Monthly Challenge list seeing as its almost 900 pages.

Bonus/Friendship - The Things They Carried Not a romance at all, but it is the only book I ever had to read for school that has stuck with me until this day. Its based on the author's experience in the Vietnam war and the men he fought beside.

I hope you find something interesting on the list to read!

Cathy | 59 comments Hi Shirley,

This is my first time so here goes:

Friends: Montana Sky by Nora Roberts - I read this a long time ago on the recommendation of my Mother in law and loved it.

Romance: Perfect by Judith McNaught- My all time favorite by her.

Intense: Knight in Shining Armor by Jude Deveraux

New: Dark Lover by JR Ward - I didn't see any by her in your paranormal list and this series is one of the best.

Don't Forget: Romeo Romeo by Robin Kaye - Since you like to cook.

Support: In the Bleak Midwinter by Julia Spencer-Flemming - I've been wanting to start this series.

Bonus: Summer by the Sea by Susan Wiggs

Post recommendations, tell your new friend what you have decided to read and then let us all know what your opinion of that choice was.

Missy

Friends - Navarro's Promise (Breeds) by Lora Leigh Since this looks like your favorite author, I'll take that as a recommendation. This doesn't release until April 5, but that gives you a few days to look forward to it!

Romance - Mansfield Park by Jane Austen You've read just about all of my favorite romances, so I picked the one Jane Austen I didn't see on your list that I love.

Intense - Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry This book is in my top 5 all-time favorites!

Emotions - Bridget Jones' Diary by Helen Fielding So many laugh out loud moments in this book! Easy, fun read!

New - Lover Unleashed (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #9) by J.R. Ward This one's just released and it looks like you've enjoyed the others in this series.

Don't Forget - Saddled and Spurred (Blacktop Cowboys #2) by Lorelei James Couldn't resist the cover of this one on your TBR list!!

Support - Into the Dreaming (Highlander #8) by Karen Marie Moning I saw you rated these books very highly. I would have to read the first one if they go in order.

Bonus - Undaunted Courage by Stephen Ambrose You rated Band of Brothers with 5 stars. Thought you might enjoy this, too.

(whew! I did it! I really hope you haven't read most of these!)

Hey Lili!! Thanks for the rec's, you did a fabulous job. In fact, I had a hard time deciding on which books I am going to read and in what oder. I think I am going to start off with Just the Sexiest Man Alive then I am going to read The Book Thief. I will send you a message when I am ready to start buddy reading A Lot Like Love, if you are interested. I am trying to broaden my reading choices...I usually pretty much stick with Paranormal romance. I am excited to read something new!!

message 677: by Missy (new)

Missy | 23 comments Thanks, Yz the Whyz!! Your recommendations look great! I have wanted to read something by Lisa Kleypas for awhile now, so I think I'll start with that. Also, Cry No More looks very intriguing. I'll put them all on my list and be sure to let you know what I think as I read them! I can get all of them at my library.
Thanks for taking the time to recommend some books for me! This was fun!

message 687: by Dabney (new)

Dabney (thepassionatereader) Pollyanna--

Here you go! Enjoy!

Friends: The Name of the Wind. My teenage children told me over and over again I needed to read this book. I finally did and WOW! It’s amazing. Patrick Rothfuss’s world building is extraordinary. I’m now reading the sequel The Wise Man's Fear which is also fabulous.

Romance: What I Did For a Duke by Julie Ann Long. I loved this book. It’s an historical romance with humor, intelligence and depth.

Intense: Faithful Place by Tana French. If you haven’t read Ms. French, you are missing out, especially if you like mysteries. This is her third and she just keeps getting better and better.

Emotions: The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton. This is a moving, multi-generational story. It will break your heart and yet it’s not at all a depressing book. Out of all the books my Bookclub read last year, this was the one that all of us loved.

New: The Iron Dukewas my favorite romance published in 2010. It’s a steam punk book, with a perfect story and mesmerizing characters. I can’t recommend it enough.

Don’t forget: Go ahead and read Darkfever. The series is pretty fabulous and the first book sucks you right in.

Support: I’m interested in reading Soulless by Gail Carriger. Several readers I know have it on their favorite book ever list and it sounds pretty interesting.

Bonus: There is a great series by Rachel Gibson that has a group of women friends in it that I like a lot. Not Another Bad Date, Tangled Up In You, Sex, Lies, and Online Dating are my favorite of the four. I like the women in them a lot.

Dabney

AlbertaJenn | 0 comments Drq Angel

No, I didn't forget about you! I just... well, I have no real excuse, other than tiredness and laziness this week. Without further ado, here they are!

Friends: Night Pleasures by Sherrilyn Kenyon. Book 1 of the Dark-Hunters. This was recommended to me by my former boss almost three years ago. This was my first foray into the PNR genre. I loved it, and it lead me to many, many other great PNR/UF reads.

Romance: Desire Untamed by Pamela Palmer. Since you have rated all the BDB highly, I would highly recommend this romance series. Instead of vampires, the Feral Warriors are a band of shifters who protect their race. Her writing is similar, but also uniquely complex.

Intense: Nightwalker by Jocelynn Drake. The first Dark Days novel, this series is a fast roller coaster ride that had me gripped as I went along for the ride.

Emotions: Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs by Molly Harper. The first book by Harper. Her Nice Girls series is hilarious! I could not get enough of the snarky one-liners that Jane, the librarian-turned-vampire, lobs at her friends and family.

New: I noticed that you haven't read anything by Lauren Dane. She is a fabulous erotica author, and I feel very comfortable recommending her first Brown Siblings novel, Laid Bare, to you. This series is about finding love and about family. With lots of hot sex thrown in! ;-)

Don't Forget: Simply Perfect by Mary Balogh has been on your TBR list the longest. You have given high ratings to Balogh's other books, so it should be a good read. (I have only read one of her books, but enjoyed it)

Support: I would be excited to do a buddy read with you, reading The Chase by Erin McCarthy. Loved this series. Romance and NASCAR: what's not to love?

Bonus: An Arranged Marriage by Jo Beverley. The first book in her Company of Rogues series. This Regency series follows a group of men who became close friends while at school, and continue their friendship through adulthood as they find their loves and go through life trials. **Note: the paper edition of this book is currently out of print, and so you would have to purchase a second-hand or ebook copy.**

Enjoy!
