"Suppose the solution to all your problems is the one thing you never wanted "

It figures the one time Sabrina Cassidy is determined to do the responsible thing, karma kicks in. After four years on the road chasing her musical dream, she's stranded six hours from home with no money, a ruined credit history and morning sickness.

Out of options, she swallows her legendary independent streak and calls the only person who won't hang up on her. Luke, the man she left behind.

Marc Sterling's first instinct is to protect his business partner and best friend from another broken heart. That means letting her think she's talking to Luke, then finding a way to send her in the opposite direction.

When he shows up at her hotel room, there's something in the air beside their customary insults. Sure, her rebellious attitude, smart mouth and purple panties still drive him crazy, but now it's a different kind of crazy. The kind that has him driving her home instead of to the nearest airport.

And when Luke offers to solve all her problems if she'll only say I do, Marc realizes he's just crazy enough about her to forget whose heart he wanted to protect.

Warning: Contains two people who don't like each other very much, a Toyota that can't quite handle the road trip home, and a spontaneous proposal. Or two. Or three. And foreplay with what else pie filling.

Anything You Want by Erin Nicholas is exactly what the doctor ordered for my restless craving to read something evocative and different. A huge shout out of thanks to Cari Quinn, one of the most fabulous authors out there who was wonderful enough to recommend this to me when I was feeling down in the dumps, wondering what to read to get myself out of this funk which I have found myself in lately.

Sabrina Rose Cassidy is down on her luck, stranded in a strange town, with no money and no means of getting herself back home to Justice after 4 whole years of being away, trying to find that elusive something that would fulfill her and curb the restlessness that has always been a part of her. Now pregnant, Sabrina wants to do the right thing, make the right decisions for the first time in her life, even if it means going back and facing all those whom she left behind when she left to pursue her dreams.

When Marc Sterling receives a call meant for his best friend Luke Hamilton, the last thing he expects is to hear the voice of Sabrina, the woman who broke his best friend's heart and left town right after rejecting his marriage proposal. Not wanting to subject Luke to Sabrina's brand of charm is what has Marc hopping into a car and travelling 6 hours to reach the woman who makes his hackles rise just by existing. But what Marc doesn't expect to happen is for Sabrina to stir his senses up and give him the fastest hard-on in history and to see the unexpected flare of desire burn in Sabrina's eyes right back at him.

For two people who has a history of being unable to tolerate each other's presence, the forced intimacy Marc and Sabrina are subjected to has both of them re-evaluating how they see each other, each finding qualities in the other that draws them in like a moth to flame. Back home in Justice, Luke does the expected which has Marc reeling in sheer frustration amongst other things, knowing that he possibly cannot want to possess the woman whom his brother is set on marrying.

Anything You Want is a contemporary romance that has got everything going for it. In-depth character development that had me falling in love with each and every single character that came up in the story, wonderful dialogs that had me smiling, and of course the sexual innuendos that fly between Sabrina and Marc which just ups the sizzling heat factor in the book makes this a story of the cannot-put-down-for-the-life-of-me kind.

Marc is a wonderful hero, who starts out resenting Sabrina and her dependent nature on Luke which Marc knows is of the destructive kind, but later finds himself hopelessly ensnared by the different facets of the woman Sabrina really turns out to be. Sabrina is a heroine who starts out looking as a self-centered woman who knows just how to keep Luke dangling after her, but her character as it unfolds is so much more complex, layer after layer which Marc unfurls to find the passionate woman inside.

Sabrina is a woman who is faced with a tough choice. On one side is the man who offers her the security that she craves, the choice she knows that she should make in order to give her baby everything he or she deserves. On the other side is the man who makes her insides go weak just by walking into the room, whose way of calling her "Seattle" has her wanting to jump his bones each and every single time. He is the man who understands her, who wants to set her free so that she can do what it is that she loves doing, and never ever have to wonder "What if?".

I don't think I can do an adequate job of outlining just how much I loved everything about this story from its heartwarming characters and setting to the very well done sex scenes of the toe-curling variety that I just reveled in. Now I can't help but want to find out whether Luke and the very unusual Kat gets their story, which I am hoping fervently that it does come out because it is so obvious that they are meant to be together.

Very highly recommended for fans of contemporary romances featuring a hot-as-sin hero and a heroine who finds where she belongs - in the arms of the man she least expects to find the cure for her restless wandering.

Favorite Quotes:

He kissed like a god, had made her come within five minutes of touching her - a definite record - and was now telling her father that any guy would be lucky to have her.
She'd just fallen a little bit in love with Marc Sterling.

"What should he be doing?" She was very interested in Marc's opinion on this.
He moved in a little closer. "He should be telling you that you are the sexiest thing he's ever seen. That he passes by as close to you as possible whenever he can just to smell your hair. That when you laugh it makes him want to French kiss you up against the wall. He should buy you something you'd really appreciate - like cinnamon massage lotion. That he could lick off, slowly and thoroughly, after rubbing it all over your body."

I have very mixed feelings about this book. On one hand I loved the hero. He was great. Witty, passionate and caring. On then on the other hand I couldn't stand the heroine. I mean it. I seriously loathed her. So when it comes to writing a review for this book I'm torn. While I was able to finish the book quite quickly, I did have a few moments where I had to put it down and walk away just out of sheer frustration.

Let me explain. Sabrina left home four years ago and hasn't looked back. She went off in pursuit of making it big in the music scene. Now broke and pregnant she wants to return home to raise her child but on the way her car breaks down and not having any other options decides to call Luke, her oldest friend and former fiance' to the rescue.

Marc and Luke have been best friends ever since Marc moved into town when they were twelve. After a terrible car accident kills all of Marc's family, Luke's family takes Marc in and raises him as Luke's brother. Marc will do anything for Luke and his family. So when he finds out Sabrina is calling for Luke he decides to intercept the call. No way is he going to let Luke fall back into the trap that is Sabrina. All she has ever done is hurt Luke by stringing him along. So you can imagine Sabrina's surprise when Marc shows up at the hotel instead of Luke.

Marc and Sabrina have a volatile relationship to say the least. Neither have really ever gotten along and when they are together they are constantly bickering. Though this time when they both see each other, the bickering somehow turns into something a bit more. Their heated words become filled with sexy innuendo's and double entendre's. Both can't deny this attraction they are feeling towards the other. But how can they act upon it when they know it will do nothing but hurts the one's they are closest with?

Once they are both home, the attraction hits them both in full force. Little touches here and there suddenly turns into sex against the wall. The chemistry between these two is electric and they both find it hard to stay away from the other. I loved their interactions with each other and I found when other parties weren't around I loved Sabrina and Marc together. I loved the witty banter back and forth. Things get heated between them quickly and I love that neither are able to deny their attraction.

What bothered me about this story was the way Sabrina was when Marc isn't around. As soon as she gets back into town the confident and independent Sabrina disappears. She once again starts stringing Luke around and I HATED that. I hated the fact that she doesn't love Luke and she knows that she doesn't and probably never will but she decides it's okay to marry him. Um what the hell. How is that even kosher? Really? Not only does she have feelings for Marc that could be turning into love but it's okay to marry someone that you don't love just because he can give your kid a home. I thought this made Sabrina seem like a total bitch and beyond selfish. And don't even get me started on Luke or her dad.

Really the only reason I found myself turning the pages is to see what Marc was up to. I instantly found a connection with him and he was just so adorable. He is battling his feelings for Sabrina because he knows how much Luke cares about her and he doesn't want to do anything that will jeopardize his and Luke's relationship. I felt so bad for Marc at times. He just wants to be happy but the one thing making him happy could potentially be the thing that ruins his whole life. Oh Marc.

All in all this book was an okay read for me. I was able to finish and I really liked Marc. The story itself was cute and sweet at times but it's still a little hard for me to get past Sabrina and the way she acted with everyone besides Marc.

I rather liked the tone of the book. The hero was great. That makes for the 2 stars.
However I never did manage to understand what he could change his mind and fall in love with such a poor heroine, her main characteristic being a total inability to stand on her own two feet and to make any sensible decision. She was used to rely on her best friend, Luke, for that. Even though she managed to live independently for four years, as soon as she faced him back, she lost all sense of independence and just followed through with any direction he would give her, even if she was convinced those were not right for her. She irritated me from the beginning and never stopped until the end. The whole plot relied on her making bad calls, poor spur of the moment decisions and never using her brain, if she had any. I also could not like either her father or Luke, the benevolent but stupid friend, who was ready to throw away his life to make a dream he had since kindergarten came true.
Those who do not like love triangle, avoid this book at all costs.
Last thing, the timeline was very poorly managed. She supposedly had a one-night stand with a stranger in Jamaica ten weeks before the beginning of the book, but she only took the plane to get there four weeks before. And there were other instances later with a two-week period marking 2 different deadlines that got mysteriously extended to three.

Very rarely I've felt so ambivalent about a romance story as I was reading this one. The romance plot was different, very original, the banter between the H/h also original and really good, the chemistry and passion well done, a wonderful hero. But the heroine... jeez. Even to me, who's found so few good heroines to the point I don't even talk about them in my reviews, the Sabrina character was just too much. She's a user, indecisive, insecure until the very end. It could have been a reread for me and instead I was there wondering why the hero's attracted to her at all and feeling really annoyed each time her POV sections came up, sometimes skipping them and reading only his parts or the parts of the two together.
HERO is a Perfomer, a chef who expresses himself through his cooking, loyal, intense. He lost his parents but was adopted by the family of his best friend Luke. Since the woman who's manipulated and hurt Luke is coming back, he sets to do everything to keep her from Luke and falls for her in the process.

I've never read anything by Erin Nicholas, but this book sounded fun and I just couldn't turn it down. I'm glad I took the chance.

The author's voice is wonderful... fun, breezy, descriptive. I love her writing ability. She makes it look easy. The first few chapters of this book are absolutely fantastic and I have nothing at all negative to say about them. Sabrina had my sympathy, Marc made me fall in love with him and I could understand why they both felt the way they did about each other. Sabrina did break Luke's heart, and she knew she had, but I got why she did what she did.

Then I hit a bit of a stumbling block. You see, I loved the scenes with Sabrina and Marc. They melded perfectly, their chemistry was amazing, their dialogue sparkled. I couldn't get enough of them. They were fun, hot, interesting... but as soon as they added others to the mix, I struggled a bit. I didn't like Sabrina very much once she started trying to implement her plan of getting Luke to marry her so she'd have security for herself and her baby. Luke is a great guy, and he didn't deserve to be treated the way he was, so it made it hard for me to like the heroine of the story, which in turn made the story tough to read.

But I continued because by that time I was so completely invested in the characters (and madly in love with Marc) that I had to know what happened. It certainly helped that the author has mad talent -- she has me so won over by it that I have every intention of going back and grabbing copies of her backlist to read (it's pretty extensive) and ready to pounce on the next book in this series as well (because, didn't I mention Luke was a great guy?).

The author doesn't let anyone off easy in this book and kept the tension high right up to the end, a satisfying ending with serious cuteness that I grinned like crazy.

I know I had some issues with the book... it wasn't perfect. But it was really, really good. And every time I wanted to smack the heroine upside the head, something happened to make me smile again. Keeping things that emotionally charged, making me care as much as I did -- that matters.

Anything You Want is a book I can happily recommend, especially if you love fun, super sexy novels with seriously hot heroes and negligent (but creative) use of apple pie filling.

Lots and lots of mixed feelings about this one. First off, the book started off pretty slow and it took a while to get moving. I kinda lost interest for a little bit, but had to keep going because I just knew something good was going to come out of it. There were parts where I loved it, then suddenly hated it, then back again. It was see-saw all the way.

One thing that irked me was the heroine. Sabrina wasn't painted in a nice light at first. To me, she came off as a habitual user. Whenever she's in trouble or in need, she always calls on her BFF Luke. Luke would drop everything he was doing just to do her bidding. Luke has always been in love in Sabrina. They have been best friends since they were kids and has always placed her first. They were never more than just friends, until one night Sabrina makes a move and he mistakes it as more. He wanted to marry her, but Sabrina wanted to purse her musical dream. They split apart. Four years later, Sabrina is becomes stranded on her way back home. She's broke, pregnant and in need of help. Of course she calls Luke. However, Luke's best friend, Marc wants nothing more than Sabrina to stay away from Luke. He pretends to be Luke and offers to pick her up and take her home. They have always disliked one another, but when they meet up, sparks fly like you wouldn't believe. The bickering between the two as actually pretty hot. Lots of pent up frustration. The tension between the two was intense and once they finally got together...holy mother. But what happens when Luke finds out that Sabrina is back in town? What happens when he finds out that his best friend and the girl he once loved are involved? How will he react to the baby news? Lots and lots of tension in the story which made it more enjoyable. Plus it had a HEA so it wasn't all too bad.

I have to say it. It is amaziing, I loved it.:D 4.5 stars

A good book is the one that makes you angry, sad, happy, and shed a few tears.

I was a little skeptical at first because of all the comments I read calling Sabrina a b*tch, and truthfully she is,at first.

But don't lose hope keep reading, as the story progresses you get an insight as to why she behaved the way she did, and you realize that she has changed and that all she wants is to give her baby a stable home and love, lots of it.And she is willing to do anything to allow her child to have what she didn't while growing up, even if it means sacrificing her own happiness.

And that turns our lead caracter from a childish and overdependent teenager into a grown woman capable of anything.

We have to keep in mind that in the end, we can't dwell on how we got somewhere, we have to focous on the present and what we want for ourselves and the ones around us.

3.5/5 - Nice story. Absolutely loved Marc. Sabrina, there were moments I liked her and moments when I wanted to smack some sense into her. Also, I thought the ending was missing an epilogue. It felt like it needed just little bit more, the ending as it is now is good, but a little abrupt.

I don't know why I put off reading this one so long. These two are great together! They have quite a bit of playful banter between them and the sex is smokin'! I will never look at a peach, apple, or cherry pie without being horney now ;P I look forward to Luke's story next.

Since I discovered Erin Nicholas' novels I gobbled all 4 up and couldn't wait for the release of Anything You Want. Finally this day has come and I have to tell you I wasn't disappointed! When someone starts an Erin Nicholas novel they expect a sweet&steamy, heartwarming and laugh out loud funny story with girl/guy next door characters and Anything You Want certainly delivered.

I loved that the hero and heroine were introduced very early on, and I didn't have to wait long for them to meet. (Though the hero starts off as Mr. Perfect Guy's best friend, you soon discover that there is much more between the heroine and Mr. Best Friend than what a secondary character status would warrant.)

Marc (the best friend) is an amazing guy: he is loyal, warm-hearted, generous and honest. His deep understanding of Sabrina and her dreams and character is wonderful and astonishing, especially since they claim they only ever had a superficial friendship through Luke. And yet Marc proves that all this time he was observing and seeing Sabrina for who she is and everything she did throughout the years, like no one else did. I found this even more moving since all through their youth Sabrina and Luke were best friends: in college "they talked 4 times a day, eating at least one meal together" and yet it seems that Luke doesn't know her at all. During these talks she never did tell him of her dreams and aspirations?

I have to confess I was conflicted with Sabrina's character. For the first part of the novel she appeared quite spoilt, rebellious and selfish, but then seeing her warped logic behind why she believes she owes Luke his happiness I thought she was selfless and finally mature. Unfortunately with the last stunt she pulled she left me baffled and not a bit confused. At that last twist when she pulled on Luke's strings and the way she used her influence over Luke to have him at her beck and call disappointed me as she went back once again to the needy, self-centered, egoistic teenager phase I thought she has already passed and outgrown.

When Erin writes about Sabrina's relationship with music, her passion, drive and life force can be felt through the pages. It is enthralling, passionate and overwhelming in the best possible way!

The highlight of this novel was the nonstop banter between Sabrina and Marc, filled with sexual innuendos and double entendres. Their witty verbal duels were at times laugh out loud funny:

Marc giving a job description to Sabrina on what her position at the bar would entail:

"Get me coffee for instance."
Her eyes narrowed. "Uh, huh. I hear arsenic dissolves nicely in hot liquid."
He would not smile. But it was tough. "Wash my apron."
Her eyes narrowed. "You should know that I have a condition that manifests by spontaneously sewing pink ruffles on things."
"Alphabetize my recipes."
"The only letters I know are F and U."
He moved around the end of the bar, smiling in spite of himself. "How about inventory? I need someone to count my mushrooms."
"Yeah, once you run out of fingers it gets tough, doesn't it?"

then at other times left me breathless with the palpable attraction and sizzle between them:

"He doesn't get it."
"Get what?"
"What he should be doing to win you over."
He should buy you something you'd really appreciate--like cinnamon massage lotion. That he could lick off, slowly and thoroughly, after rubbing it all over your body."
She swallowed hard. "I don't think you're supposed to eat lotion."
"Edible massage lotion is made to be eaten."

The chemistry between Marc and Sabrina was so tangible; the metaphorical spark ignited the fire every time these two were together!

As usual, the trademark humour of Erin Nicholas' novels (and one of the aspects which in my opinion sets Erin Nicholas' novels apart from the other contemporary romance novels) was there and very present.

"He wanted her to leave Luke alone. He didn't necessarily want her tortured or dead or anything. Miserable was okay. Unhappy, friendless, broken-hearted were all acceptable. But in danger or hurt probably not. Dammit."

"The thing that really put Sabrina on Marc's do-not-go-there list was the fact that he found her to be the most frustrating person in the entire world. If he said the sky was blue, she would argue it was purple, just to annoy him. He'd once complimented her outfit. She'd asked if his mother knew he was gay."

This just made me roar of laughter! Imagining Marc's face at that comment!!! :-D

An added bonus I wasn't expecting and thus came as a wonderful surprise was Marc's moving tenderness and sweet moments. Marc's developing feelings towards another man's baby choked me up quite a few times and made me tear up:

"He wanted to watch her tummy grow, wanted to be able to compare day to day how her body changed. He wanted to watch her change too, as motherhood would surely add to her personality. He was curious how she would react when her child started walking, or when he or she first learned to read. He wanted to tease her and laugh with her and support her and tell her she was amazing. But all he said was, "I'm starving.""

There was an absolutely unforgettable scene in the hospital maternity ward: Sabrina was at the doctor's for a check up, and both men turned up to be with her. The men's hospital room who-knows-more-about-pregnancies battle was wonderful, funny, entertaining and sweet. To see that Marc a man who has nothing to do with the baby, the pregnancy still takes all the time and effort to do research and read on the subject to be ready and in the loop for Sabrina was very moving.

For full disclosure I only had two minor complaints: the first being my above detailed problem with Sabrina's last stunt (though I see why it was necessary for the sake of the plot it still leaves me undecided regarding Sabrina's character), the other was that when it was revealed Kat (Sabrina's best (and seemingly only) friend) has had feelings for Luke (for more than a decade!). I had some problems believing that she could be a loyal and selfless friend to Sabrina, when Sabrina is the reason she can't be together with the man she loves...

Verdict: Anything You Want was a delightful read I would definitely recommend to any romance lovers! I love that reading an Erin Nicholas novel always makes me feel as if I just got another bunch of great friends. The palpable and irresistible chemistry, and the chuckle out loud banter between the hero and heroine as well as the general humour makes Anything You Want an outstanding romance.

I give Anything You Want 4.5 stars!

Anything You Want by Erin Nicholas is the first in her Anything and Everything duology. It's a bit of an enemies-to-lovers story featuring Sabrina Cassidy and Marc Sterling. Sabrina is an aspiring singer who left her hometown of Justice, Nebraska, several years ago to pursue her dreams. She also left Marc's best friend Luke heartbroken. When she hits rock bottom and decides to call the guy who's always been her lifeline, Marc happens to answer the phone instead and decides she's never going to have the chance to hurt Luke again.

When he shows up to the rescue instead, they are both surprised at the depth of their mutual attraction, a bit confounded by its intensity, and reluctant to act on it knowing how that would affect not only the two of them but their families and mutual friends.

I loved seeing Marc and Sabrina slowly get to know each other better, with their long-held perceptions shifting as they learn more about the other. And Erin Nicholas does an excellent job with their incredible chemistry, which is absolutely combustible. Marc and Sabrina are both strong personalities, bold and generally forthright, and caring deeply about their friends. I was slightly frustrated that both of them also could take that protectiveness and some stubbornly held beliefs to the next level, but obviously it's a testament to how realistic Ms Nicholas's characters are that I cared so deeply!

Anything You Want is a fantastic story that reminds us of how life changes when you are loved by someone who truly sees you and not only does not want to change you, but appreciates the things that make you who you are. It's one for the keeper shelf.

ANYTHING YOU WANT was overall really good. I feel like the ending fell a little short considering how good the start and middle was, but still well worth the read.

Our leading lady, Sabrina Cassidy was a complicated character. On the surface she seemed like a shallow freeloader who couldn’t make a right decision to save her life, which is exactly the way Marc Sterling saw her. But underneath, as Marc soon learned, was a vibrant woman who took chances and explored the world, never asking herself ‘what if’ about something she wanted.

The history between Sabrina and Luke Hamilton is one that started in childhood when Luke took away some of the pressure her father put on her by spending time with her father himself. Although at first Luke accepted her for her passion for music and short term mind, he soon became more like her father and began pressuring her as well to settle down. Luke had always been in Sabrina’s corner, fixing whatever she had gotten herself into. The night Luke and Marc open their restaurant together, Sabrina got together with Luke and the next night Luke proposed, but a freaked Sabrina left when he wouldn’t come with her instead.

When Marc intercepts Sabrina’s call for Luke four years later, he knew he can’t let Luke know Sabrina needs him. So instead it’s him that drives hours to come get her from a barely there town where her car broke down, she’s broke and stuck.

Marc has never liked Sabrina who holds so much power of Luke. She’s the only thing he and Luke have fought over in their long history together when his family adopted him after the death of his.

He’s not expecting the fierce protectiveness and bodily reaction to the beautiful woman that has been a thorn in his side. Ignoring his new ‘feelings’ he drives her to the nearest airport, only for her to make a scene in front of security about him trying to abandon her while pregnant. Imagine her shock when she tells him when they get back on the road that she wasn’t lying.

Sabrina herself still has trouble coming to terms with the life inside her. A drunken one night stand that stole from her as he left is just the latest screw up, but she’s determined to do the right thing now. After years of following her dream of music, she’s ready to do right. It’s her reason for coming back to her small hometown of Justice so she can have the help of her friend and doctor and raise her child in the best environment possible.

Back in town it doesn’t take Luke long to find her, but the eager suitor is already too late, for the heat is there with Marc and it’s just waiting to explode.

For the following weeks, Sabrina gets a job as their bartender and contemplates Luke’s proposal of marriage to her growing lust for Marc. One is the right choice and the other is her heart’s desire. Their constant sexual interludes keep things very interesting for the reader as these two are great together.

But Marc wrestles with his conscience over betraying Luke and the family that took him in. Yet as he watches Luke try to pin Sabrina down, he knows Luke doesn’t truly love her, just the idea he’s had in his head for years.

When he sees her letter congratulating her for making it into the final twenty in a singing competition in Nashville, Marc knows she has to take the chance, but that means letting the woman he loves go.

With hurtful words after their second time together, Marc believes he’s sent her off to Nashville, but coming out of his drunken hangover, learns he just pushed her back into accepting Luke’s proposal.

Bursting in on their ceremony, he carries her out and tells her she has to give Nashville the change to know she’s making the right choice to stay in Justice, where he’ll be waiting. Putting in a cab, she goes after her dream.

Just two days after she left Marc already knows he can’t live without her. Going to Luke to sell his half of the business, the men finally talk it out. With his blessing he sends Marc after his destiny while still being partners.

Marc watches her winning performance with a song about them. Catching her in the parking lot, he tells he’s coming with her as she tours with their new RV he bought. But Sabrina has finally learned where she belongs and it’s not on the road, but with him.

Now, just a RV for family outings, they begin their life together.

How long should you follow your dreams, before you wake up? That is the decision Sabrina must make.

Four years ago, she left her small town life, determined to make it big in the music world. And to be honest, she was also running away from commitment and fear of a dull life, when Luke proposed. Luke and Sabrina had different ideas of what they wanted out of life, and now, four years later, Sabrina is heading home, stranded, penniless and pregnant.

When Luke’s best friend and business partner Marc intercepts a call from Sabrina, he is determined to keep her from breaking his friend’s heart again. He plans on keeping her as far as possible from Justice and Luke. But a funny thing happens on the way from Muddy Gap, where Sabrina’s rental car gives up the ghost. Marc discovers that Sabrina isn’t the person he thought, and realizes that she could be dangerous-to his own heart!

Erin Nicholas has written an enchanting and hot love story all about coming home again. It is a tale of following your dreams, and not accepting less than you deserve, as well. I loved the small town life of Justice, and the descriptive way Ms. Nicholas is able to bring the reader into the story almost immediately. The characters are well crafted, and the situations are believable and in some cases, heartbreaking. I enjoyed watching the story unfold, and empathized with the decisions that the main character, Sabrina, struggled with.

Sabrina is determined, intelligent and talented. She realizes she has a hard road ahead, and that tough decisions must be made. Her internal struggle of whether to settle for security with Luke, or go for it all with her music as a single mother is an ongoing thread here. I was happy to see that Ms. Nicholas didn’t make this an easy road for Sabrina, because it made the final solution so much more enjoyable. I also enjoyed watching as she and Marc discovered each other as something other than adversaries.

Marc is such a strong character. At the beginning, he is determined to ‘save’ his friend/brother Luke from more heartache at the hands of Sabrina. I enjoyed watching him discover that she wasn’t the villain of the story, but rather just someone trying to find the right way for her. I loved the moment when he realized that he had feelings for her himself, and also discovered that, if Luke had really cared, nothing could have kept him and Sabrina apart. I think that’s when I fell a bit in love with Marc myself.

This story is romantic, and when Sabrina and Marc finally get together, the heat explodes off the pages. There is a surprising twist near the end, and it helps to bring several of the secondary characters into focus a bit. There is a back story about Sabrina’s friend Kat that I would love to see Ms. Nicholas explore in more depth, and I’d also like for more from the world of Justice and its small town atmosphere. And I guarantee I will never look at baking a pie in quite the same way again.

At first, I wasn’t so sure about Anything You Want by Erin Nicholas. It took me a little while to warm up to Cassidy, the main character. Marc, Luke’s best friend, doesn’t have a very high opinion of Cassidy, and I must admit that his perspective of her rubbed off on me a little bit. Needless to say, I was a little conflicted in the beginning of this novel because I didn’t know how to feel about Cassidy. Marc makes Cassidy out to be this horrible person, and he is very convincing. By the end of the novel, I liked Cassidy. I would have liked her character to be a little bit more independent, but I think she does the best she can under her circumstances.

At the start of this novel, Cassidy finds herself stranded, broke, pregnant, and over three hundred miles from home. Realizing she doesn’t have any other options, she calls the one person she can always rely on, Luke. Over the years, he has helped her out of every jam - no matter what, no matter where. Thinking she just spoke with Luke on the phone, Cassidy goes to a motel room to wait on her knight in shinning armor. But, Cassidy didn’t speak with Luke on the phone. She spoke with his best friend and business partner, Marc, who has some plans of his own. He wants to keep Cassidy away from of Luke and Justice, their hometown. He plans to send her wherever she wants to go, as long as it’s not home because he doesn’t want to see his best friend hurt again. Apparently, Luke has never gotten over Cassidy, and her homecoming would mess Luke up again.

On Cassidy and Marc’s journey home, sparks fly. Marc finds himself with feelings for a girl that he doesn’t even like. He hates the hold that Cassidy has over Luke and, now, himself. But as time goes by, truths come out, revelations are made, feelings are developed, more sparks fly, and chaos happens.

There were a few things that drove me crazy about this novel. I can’t say too much because it will spoil things. Let me just say, there were some things that weren’t very realistic. I would have liked to have see Cassidy become a little more independent v. every guy falling at her feet ready to fulfill her every need. That being said, I still really enjoyed this novel. I had a few minor issues, but the good definitely outweighs the bad. That’s what counts.

I really liked the overall theme of this novel. In my opinion, this novel is ultimately about finding your home and making the best out of nothing. Cassidy has been on the road for four years, and she hasn’t had a “home” in a long time. I think everyone searches for that feeling of security and belonging, and I think that is what Cassidy is looking for the whole time, even if she doesn’t know it.

I gave Anything You Want by Erin Nicholas 3 STARS.

-XOXO

Like always, so far the recommendations of Stella never disappointed me. Erin Nicholas has a great writing style and it’s very easy to read. You get immersed in the story quickly and completely. The psychological aspect of the romance is very well done and you can understand the characters.

I didn’t appreciate Luke at all until his bit of wisdom at the end of the book, before that I just wanted to slap him. I didn’t appreciate how he was putting Sabrina down, making her feel like she was lower than dirt and just a big fail. He has his complex hero a bit like the syndrome of munchosen when you make someone ill, hurt and save him just after to feel good and powerful. It’s the same but transposed in a romantic relationship or friendly one. You let you friend or lover hurting himself, or you help to do that, and after you are the hero that has the solution and saves the day. I can’t agree with this kind of actions. Even if it’s only with the use of words, he is destroying her, using all her weaknesses that she confided in all trust. It a bit surprising at the beginning that Marc thinks he is the one suffering because he never loved her in reality.

Marc is different, at first he is against her but he slowly discovers the truth. He sees her like she is not how he would like her to be. Yes, at first he only does everything to help Luke but after he doesn’t stay mind closed. He was in fact a bit jealous since they were kids. In the end he is the one who believe in her and tries to really help her to be happy.

As for Sabrina, once you learn her past, you understand the reason behind her insecurity problem. However like Marc told her, she is stronger than that, she went to try to make her dreams a reality even alone and against the will of her family and friends. She is afraid and more manipulated than manipulative because of her low esteem she could make the wrong decisions hoping they were right. Now, I don’t think a child can be happy if his parents doesn’t love each other and become bitter, full of regrets. But I’m sure you can make a child happy even if you don’t have a lot as long as you are happy and you show him all your love. Sometimes you have to take risks to be happy, stability and security can be only an illusion in some circumstances.

So a good book but I was afraid until the end. Erin manages to keep us on toes and a bit stressed before offering us a very good ending. And who knows perhaps this book will help some people to break off bad relationship, and gain a bit more self esteem.

So I read this book when I supposed to be learning for a maths test but hey no one ever said I do things according to as planned and I’m definitely no saint...an angel maybe...
I have to admit that the plot is definitely somewhat odd and I think that’s what intrigued me most though I was expecting more after I read this book. I have to say though, that chic on the cover suits Sabrina’s profile really well.

Sabrina Cassidy finds out she’s pregnant after a one stand. Not only is she pregnant by she’s stranded with no money to help her get back to her hometown Justice. So she phones the one guy who she knows will help her –Luke. The guy who proposed to her and she left for to continue her music dream four years ago. Marc Sterling would do anything for his best friend so when he answers the phone to Sabrina’s desperate call, he didn’t bother correcting her when she misunderstands him for Luke. So Marc drives six hours to fetch the one girl who he hates for messing up Luke. When Sabrina sees Marc, she’s somewhat surprised but she needs help so Marc helps her until he refuses to take her anywhere but to Justice. He’ll do anything so that she won’t clutch onto Luke again Of course then he finds out that she’s pregnant. Sabrina doesn’t want to go back to the place she ran away from but what’s important is that her baby needs a home. Marc knows that Luke is still in love with her but soon he starts to forget all about Luke’s supposed love. So Sabrina is torn between what’s right and what’s convenient once again.

I have to say that Nicholas wrote some damn complex characters. Sabrina was something of an oddity, she’s an intelligent singer who was a part of a family that didn’t understand her and tried to dictate her life which inevitably lead to mistakes and an indecisive life. I could see that she wanted things convenient because she thought it was right and ended up hurting a lot of people. Most of all Sabrina was a dreamer and a doer. Marc is a chef who is snarky yet caring, arrogant, sweet and understanding. An orphan at a young age, straight-forward and very decisive which is quite a contrast to Sabrina. An unusual change of characters and plot, it was quite enjoyable but I felt there should have been more emotions involved when it came to Marc and Sabrina. It would have been nice to have background on Marc, an orphan boy should have some evocative emotion within.

**original review by Jamie posted at Romancing Rakes For The Love of Romance**

Sabrina Cassidy is in trouble so she calls the one guy who always drops everything for her, even if the last time she saw Luke Hamilton she turned down his proposal and ran right out of town. Unfortunately Luke doesn’t answer but Marc Sterling does. Set on protecting Luke from Sabrina he goes to rescue her then send her off in the other direction.

Sabrina is surprised when Marc shows up. She is also surprised by the attraction to him. She isn’t surprised that he doesn’t want to take her home. She knows he’s protecting Luke but Sabrina is determined to head back since she’s pregnant because she knows that Luke will take care of her. Expect she can’t stop from kissing Marc.

I was very close to putting Sabrina in the TSTL (too stupid too live) category. She was annoying and I just wanted to hit her and tell her that it’s not all about you. But she grows on you. Is she annoying and a selfish brat? Yes. She used Luke for most of her life just because she could. It isn’t until Marc comes along that he makes her see it and helps her grow up.

There is no denying the chemistry between Sabrina and Marc. These two together are hot, even when they’re bantering back and forth with sexual innuendos. Despite how much they say they don’t like each other Marc is the only one that wanted her to be happy. He wanted her dreams to come true and did his best, even if it was behind her back, to try and make it happen.

Favorite Quote

“I love cinnamon,” he said gruffly. “The Hard and Fast sounds good to me.”
She turned to face him, wanting to see his eyes as she said, “I personally like it better than the Long Slow One.”
“Should I say that doesn’t surprise me or act like I haven’t thought about how you like…your drinks?”

Overall
This was my first Erin Nicholas book and it will certainly not be my last. I can’t wait to read the next in the series.

When you pick up an Erin Nicholas book you will be getting what I have deemed her reads as the 3 S's. What are those 3 S's you ask? Well when I open of her books I expect and get from Erin ... some Steamy, Sexy, Sweet stuff.

This book is no exception. She has put together a group of characters that you instantly like. Sabrina - The girl next door who has big dreams of making it big and getting out of her small town. Luke - The down home boy who loves his community and wants to do right by everyone. Marc - The boy who went through tragedy and lost everything. And Kat - the ever faithful friend who is always there for everyone, keeping them all updated and what's going on.

Sabrina has big dreams of becoming someone and never having to to go back to her nothing of a small town. She left four years ago after breaking her childhood lifelong friend Luke's heart and hasn't looked back. But now she has no other choice, her small town of Justice is the only option she has left.

Marc intercepts a phone call meant for Luke, his best friend, brother, and business partner. Marc never expected to hear Sabrina's voice; he also never expected that taking this phone call would change his life forever.

Marc will do anything to keep Sabrina from breaking Luke's heart again. So he goes to her rescue with an ulterior motive of making sure she never returns. Secrets are revealed and Sabrina comes home. Once Luke finds out Sabrina is back he is set on marrying her, making sure she is safe and cared for. Marc will have none of that, his brother won't be hurt again by Sabrina.

Mix that all that together with 1 -wedding gone amok, 1 - recording contest, 1- secret love, 1- baby, and 1 - night of the best pie making scene I've read and that will equal Anything You Want.

I sure hope Erin Nicholas is planning to make this a series. I would really enjoy more of Luke and Kat. The flirting and sexual innuendos were so sunny I found myself Laughing Out Loud. There were even a few times I got a bit emotional as well. I would definitely recommend this read! It's going in my Re-read folder for sure.

Erin gives us a great story from start to finish. I did not want to put this book down. She has a way of making you laugh and cry as you root for the hero and heroine get together that you just have to keep reading.

Sabrina left home four years ago to follow her dreams of being a musician, knowing she could not do it in the small town she grew up in. She left Luke behind with a broken heart when he wouldn’t go with her. Now, with no job and broke she is on her way home. What else could go wrong? How about her car breaks down and she’s dealing with morning sickness. Her best friend is not available to come get her, so she has to call Luke to ask him to come pick her up and drive her back home the remaining six hour drive. The only problem is Luke isn’t the one that meets her at the hotel.

Mark has dealt with Sabrina using Luke all their life and he was thrilled when she left years ago. Now she’s calling for Luke and he will not let her hurt his best friend again. When Sabrina calls and wants Luke he pretends to be him and agrees to pick her up. Because Luke would run right out for her he decides not to tell him and goes after her himself. He’ll find a way to talk her out of coming home even if he has to pay her to leave.

They have known each other most of their lives and never liked one another. Now Mark is determined to keep her away as much as she is determined to return home. As they argue with each another the sparks start to fly as things heat up and they can’t understand why these feeling are happening and don’t want to accept them. When Luke offers Sabrina a way out of her situation of not having a job and no husband to help raise her child by offering marriage Mark has had all he can take. Will he admit his true feelings for Sabrina before it’s too late, or will she marry the wrong man?

This is the first book in Erin Nicholas' new Anything and Everything series.

Sabrina Cassidy has spent her life making wrong decisions.

Growing up in the small town of Justice she always wanted more than she thought the town had to offer. Leaving behind everyone she knows to seek a music career, 4 years have passed quickly. No nearer now to singing on a stage in Nashville and reeling from one of the worst decisions in her life, she decides that going back to Justice is the right and only choice she has. Her best friend Luke, who loved her and wanted her to stay in Justice and marry him, never got over her, or so Luke's business partner and friend, Marc, believes. When Sabrina's car breaks down and with only $19.36 to her name, she calls the only person she knows will help her, Luke. Only its not Luke whom she talks to but Marc. Her surprise is total when Marc arrives instead of Luke. Marc believes he is saving his best friend, Luke, from Sabrina. Sabrina fights an immediate attraction to Marc. Marc is willing to send her anywhere she wants to go and pay for expenses as long as its not in Justice but Sabrina is determined to go home.

Will Marc convince her to stay away? Will Sabrina convince Marc she's not the selfish bitch he thinks her to be? Will they manage to fight the attraction they feel towards each other? And what of Luke? And what of Kay, Sabrina's friend in Justice who knows of Sabrina's reason for coming home?

Those questions and the artful and at times surprising way they are answered will keep you turning the pages of this book til the end. This is a terrific stand alone book and at the same time a wonderful beginning to the story of these terrific characters!

I just recently became a fan of Erin Nicholas when I downloaded her book Just Right: The Bradford's book 1. I was barely finished with Just Right and I was downloading the rest of her books. Anything You Want is the first book in a long time that I have really been excited about before it was released. I read many excerpts from Anything You Want on a few different sites and they only made me want more. I love books with strong heroines, equally strong hero's, interesting situations, comedy, drama and the intense feelings they bring to a story. I look for authors whose writing can pull me in to their story and make me feel like I am part of it. Authors that make it impossible to put the books down until the last page has been turned and for the most part we find Happily Ever After. I have found that with Anything You Want.

I enjoyed the flow of this book. The sexual tension that built between Marc & Sabrina gave me a chuckle. I liked how it built slowly and they did not just hop right into bed and go from there. This book contained the perfect amount of funny, (hubby thinks I am nuts while I am laughing out loud at times) perfect amount of "Steamy", and the right balance of interfering friends made for a great read.

So, to sum this one up... 5 stars from me and I am off now to bake an Apple Pie!

This book grabbed me. Down-on-her-luck heroine is reluctantly rescued by the guy from her hometown who thinks she's annoying and self-centered--just so he can keep her away from his best friend. (She's bad news for the friend, he thinks.)

Of course they discover an intense, nonsensical attraction for each other; sparks fly; they talk; and--sigh!--romance.

I didn't love every single thing about it--but I almost did. Great dialogue, fantastic characters, super chemistry, interesting plot stuff (musicians and restaurants), and a road trip! I had to suspend my disbelief a teeny bit at the beginning (), and the author briefly did that romance thing where if they'd just TALK there would be no PROBLEM--but it was pretty brief. I rolled my eyes, suspended my disbelief AND my annoyance, and settled in to enjoy the rest of the book.

Altogether a terrific contemporary romance. Long enough to be satisfying, short enough to read in a day. I will buy more by Erin Nicholas. (And also--Samhain is rapidly becoming my go-to publisher. Everything I've read from them has been high quality, even if not 100% to my tastes, and the prices are terrific. Also, their kindle books are lendable.)

Sabrina is a dreamer - a small town girl with dreams of a life way bigger than just marrying her best friend, Luke, and having kids, etc. So when he almost proposed to her she asked him to run away with her. For the first time in her life, Luke told her no, and she ran to Seattle to try and make her dream of being a musician come true. Four years and one series of really bad choices later, Sabrina is headed home again. When her car breaks down she calls the only person she can think of for help - Luke. He's always rescued her in the past, he would again - she was certain. What Sabrina didn't anticipate was the intervention of Luke's best friend and brother, Marc stepping in to keep her from ruining Luke's life again. What Marc didn't anticipate was Sabrina.

This was a book I received from Goodreads (thanks!) in a giveaway. I expected a typical romance novel, and I guess in a way I got that with one exception - this one was really good. It was well written with well developed characters, spicy love scenes and pie filling. If you like sexy romance novels, you'll really enjoy this one.

*Insert new fangirl squeal*

I loved this book. I'm officially in love with Marc and could only hope I'm as good at character building as Mz. Nicholas is someday.

What an awesome ride. From the hilarious and somehow sizzling way Marc renamed the place he had to rescue Sabrina from...Muddy Gap (one of his nicknames Dirty Gulch...and there were tons more. lol) to the slow and delicious build of character, I was utterly sucked in.

I loved that she was able to make me like Sabrina when the premise promised anything but a likeable character. I loved the family background and the way she showed that dreams are just as important as being responsible. I love that Mz. Nicholas managed to insert heat and awareness in such a way that it didn't feel forced or cliched.

I simply loved everything about this book. I don't want to give too many details because the read and the experience was where the pleasure unfolded.

Read it.

You won't regret it.

I fell for Marc immediately. And I love enemies-to-lovers stories. But Sabrina was not such a great heroine. It is not that I really disliked her, she had some endearing qualities, BUT she also came across as a selfish little brat most times. Although she was falling in love with Marc, she kept the other guy hanging and was still debating marrying him. It was explained a bit WHY she did those things, but I did not like the fact that Kat (her best friend!) was in love with Luke and never told Sabrina or that Sabrina never figured it out. And also I did not understand why everyone kept protecting Sabrina and wanted her happiness while she did not seem to care about the happiness of those around her.

The story would have been great without the whole proposal-thing. Very well written though and HOT.

Wished for an epilogue but I think that is because the next story is about Kat.

When Marc Sterling intercepts a phone call from Sabrina Cassidy, he pretends to be his best friend and offers to come get her. He knows exactly what he is going to do when he sees her, send her packing in another direction, he wants her nowhere his friend whose heart she broke. Marc plans begin to fall apart when he sees Sabrina, and the tension they have always had turns to a chemistry that is too difficult to deny.

Sabrina just wants to go home, pregnant and alone she wants to do what is best for the baby. As Marc continues to throw obstacles in her path, Sabrina can't deny that she is falling for him and when her old friend Luke offers marriage, Marc finds himself wanting it to be him instead.
