On the other hand, probably some people just think antiheroes can result in more drama than traditional, morally more perfect heroes, and some conemporary writers have a tendency of mistaking cynicism for depth.
Anti-heroes are alright, we've always had them. It's just when they're presented as the definitive reality, my eyes start rolling. Nice to hear from you Xdyj.
If you're new here, please tell us a little about yourself if you want to.I post this just to keep the Welcome folder visible on this group's homepage.
Sorry I was not talking to Graig. I just wanted to make this topic appear on our homepage so that new members can introduce themselves.
Hi folks, I'm Jolea and I'm a huge fan of heroic fantasy. I've been reading these kind of books since I was a kid and they remain my favorite genre.
Hi all. This is Rich. I love heroic fantasy and sci-fi. Some of my favorites authors are Asimov, Herbert, Tolkien, C.S. Lewis (who does both), Robert Jordan, and many others too numerous to remember.
Hi Jolea and Rich! I think you guys will enjoy this group! Right now it isn't very active, but I'll try to be on more. ;)
To Jolea and Rich: Hi, welcome to this group! To Connor: Yes I'm back. Thanks. This group do seem to be not very active these days. Perhaps we can try some ideas used in other goodreads groups e.g. SciFi and Fantasy Book Club, like using good questions to stimulate discussions.
Yeah..... I liked my point system idea, but it isn't working very well..... It would probably help though if I had more time to think and count points and be involved.
We could do....something.....

Hello Everyone, I'm Geoffrey. I've always read sci-fi (except that decade where all I read was non-fiction) but came to fantasy much later. Now I write sci-fi and fantasy. I live in Brooklyn, NY with my lovely wife.
Hello Areeq! Thanks for joining! This is a good place to promote your books and your book sounds good so I'll have to read it sometime. :)

Hey, I'm Tiffany, 23, have a BA in Creative Writing and Film and am an epic fantasy and sociological sci-fi junky, so I figured this was a good group to join.
Definitely looking forward to see what books are discussed on here. Reading is always the best research on writing.
