My birthday is the 4th – so I chose A Big Little Life: A Memoir of a Joyful Dog by Dean Koontz (271 p.) from Deidre’s Books (4th) – LOVED it!!!, and The Witching Hour by Anne Rice (965 p.) from Carla’s Books (4th) – struggled to finish this with my Sesame Street attention span – it actually required 2 library check out cycles to reach the end, unheard of for me!!! The Witching Hour is a Big Book.

I read
Roses by Leila Meacham 609 pages (4.11). This was my "reuse" book as I had hoped to read it for task 20.2 (Winter Flowers Day) during our Winter challenge but did not get to read it then.I am claiming a Big Book ticket (500+)for this book.

First Grave on the Rightby Darynda Jones. 310 pages (3.2). This was my "recycle" book as I borrowed it from the library. This author is a Goodreads Author so I am claiming a ticket for that.

5.9 - "Shrimp on the Barbie" - Read Beowulf by Burton Raffel. Goodreads says 106, my copy was around 145 (including afterword). Either way, less than 200 pages!10.10 - "The Final Frontiers" - Read To Say Nothing of the Dog by Connie Willis. Ok, maybe this might be classified as more soft sci-fi (if there is such a thing), but it was still a story centered around a time-machine built in Oxford some decades from now.
30.6 - "Melanie's Task: Myth-behaving Greeks "
Book A - Read Doomed Queens: Royal Women Who Met Bad Ends, From Cleopatra to Princess Di by Kris Waldherr. Rolled a 1 (Zeus). All the characters in here were royal (except for a couple of pages on Eva Peron). Quite a fun book too with illustrations and even paper dolls in the cover flap!
Book B - Read The Code of the Woosters by P.G. Wodehouse. Rolled a 6 (Aristophanes). Bertie Wooster and Jeeves stories always make me laugh!
