R2 TEAM THREAD: Team #4 May the 4ce Be with You [THIRD PLACE]

I'm so sorry about that, Tania. Thenia is a player on Team #1 and I got both your names mixed up. I apologize and have corrected it where listed wrong. Thanks for making me aware. :)
And, so glad book #3 of the series you've been enjoying so much is on the shifters list, that is lucky indeed. Happy Reading!

Free Space Read: Read 3/10/11 5★

This was one of my favorites of the series so far! It was a sweet, spooky and fun ride I didn't want to end. There were tender moments between Mercy and Adam. We are able to see them together away from the pack, relaxing and luxuriating in their relationship. We also get a villain who was creepy and the storyline left you wondering with each flip of the page what would happen next. Mercy and Adam get to meet the keeper, of sorts, of their "other half" and, along with Mercy, we get to learn a bit about her father.
The book left me on a Mercy & Adam high. You know the kind, the kind when you finally finish the book you sigh, but with a smile, sending out silent thanks to the author for yet another great addition to a fun series. I have nothing to complain about, other than the long wait that we all face, once again, for the next book in the series. Reading the book in a day, after having waited 14 months to get it doesn't seem right. But, it was one that I couldn't wait to receive and couldn't hold back reading in full once I did.

Happy Reading!

I would HIGHLY recommend the series if anyone needs a shifter book!

Love your idea! Am going to borrow it, too!!!!!

I know a lot of people have been down on Faythe and some of her TSTL actions, but I really felt like this book was a turning point for Faythe. Yes, she still is impulsive and has a tendency to run off her mouth, but I feel that she really matured during this book. Faythe is on trial for creating and murdering a stray. Faythe appears to be not the only one on trial, lots of devious positioning going on. I also loved the addition of Keller, a were-bear. Awesome.

No, I don't mean more of him in THAT way! You're such a pervo. ;)

No? What a tease you are ;)

I like Keller a lot too. :) Glad you enjoyed it, AH!

Review: Man, this story had all the elements of a great read, but something about the writing just didn't work for me. I liked it okay, but I'm not sure if I'll read the rest of the series or not. If you're interested, book #2, The Werewolf Upstairs was released in Feb. (Also, Ashlyn has many erotic novels published, though I haven't read any)
The "romance" between Merry & Jason was too fast, to say the least. There were many different stories going at once, none of which were spectacularly intriguing to me.
The supes were abundant, which was cool. You have ghosts, shifters, witches, vamps, but none stood out more than the other.
Overall, not the fun read I was hoping for, but maybe the editors did a better job w/book 2.

For the shifter read I chose Slave to Sensation.
Hope I can get both read by the weekend. Great job everyone.

3 stars. Finished on March 13.

Even though I am fairly new to the adult PNR/urban-fantasy genre, I have read my fair share of vampire novels. Blood Song turned out to be an enjoyable read with a unique twist on traditional vampirism. The protagonist Celia is the usual kick-ass 20-/30-something heroine with multiple guys pursuing her as Celia herself remains clueless to the attention. In this reality, however, the entire world knows of the existence of preternatural beings. Some humans have even uncovered their own hidden powers.
The first half of the book was slightly hard to get through, and the plot felt almost random at times. There were some characters who felt kind of... unnecessary, I suppose. The ending is not overly cliffhanger-ish, but does connect to the second book, Siren Song, which I will read one of these days...
Sidenote: LOL, I just noticed that all the books I've read for Bingo so far have the word "blood" in it... Blood Song, Bloodfever, and Blood Bound. Morbid much:)?

2 stars.
So I’m thinking Bitten was just seriously ripped off in Stray, for the first half of this book, anyway. But the story actually was pretty good when it got down to it.
Unfortunately, I can’t say I liked the book, and mostly that’s because of Marc – why the hell would she get back together with him? Drunken mistake – sure. She loves him – Uh, what? She should have hooked up with Jace. Now that would have made for a good story, the whole forbidden love angle. But no it had go all copycat.

Sorry you didn't enjoy Stray, Jo. Faythe is quite the frustrating character in the beginning of that series.

Jo, have you picked a book for the free space? I wasn't sure if I'd missed a post.
Daffodil, hope all is continuing to go well with your brother. You and your family remain in our thoughts!

Happy Reading, Everyone! :D

I'm going to be reading

I am almost done my free space read...hope to finish today and get the review up.....

You can probably enjoy the books now, with relief from some of the worry.

I give this 3.5 stars.
I enjoyed the story. I just found that I really couldnt connect with the characters. I loved Jenks and Matalina. I felt Ivy, Trent and Nick could have had more development but knowing there more books in the series I am hoping that happens. I did enjoy Rachel but at times was getting a bit fed up with her. I think perhaps I was hoping for more of a stronger female lead. The different story lines flowed pretty well for me. The library and meeting the demon and then the whole mink in the rat killing ring scenario was I felt pretty good. Knowing that there are more books to read in the series I am hoping some questions get answered. Almost feel like there could be more of a romance situation possible between Rachel and Trent. All in all I enjoyed and I will continue with the series.

With your review, we only need two more for our free space stamp! WTG, Team! We're moving right along. Hope everyone's enjoying their shifter books! :)
Thanks for the update, Jo!

4ce Shelf Status Update
Free Space: 6/8 Read
shifters: 3/8 Read

Just wanted to post a quick update. I finished my shifter book "City of Glass" on Tuesday, March 15th.
I will post a review tomorrow so I can give my husband some attention! Ha Ha
So glad things are looking up for your brother daffodil.
Our group rocks!

Agreed! Our groups rocks!

This is quite possible my favorite PNR series, although truthfully, that isn't saying much, since I haven't read that many... Blood Bound is action-packed from beginning to end, and the interactions between Mercy and Adam/Sam/Stefan are just too adorable. I think this series would make a great TV show, actually. Much more so than the Sookie series. Will read the rest of the Mercy series sometime in the near future!
Done with my bloody streak of book titles. I'll make sure the next read is something nice and fluffy. Maybe a book called "My Pink Tiara"...? Idk -.-

3.5 stars. Where to start? Well I am not much for the gooey/sappy romance books. I was hoping that there wouldnt be too much romance. As the book progressed I was really intrigued by the whole idea of the Psy and the changeling worlds. After a few of the dream sequences I was ready to heave the book against the wall but I kept on reading. I am glad I did. As the story developed the world the author created really did come alive for me. There was a bit of suspense/mystery with the serial killer angle. I think the idea of the PsyNet was really great. Found myself really hoping for Sascha & Lucas to thrive as a couple. My only wish was that there was more of the shifting. I can only recall I few mentions of it. I guess the final determination for me when I am reading a series book is whether or not I will continue with the series. This book has spiked my curiousity about the Psy and their world. So yes I will continue with the series.

I changed my read. Don't think I'll get to Faythe this week but I just read

This is the second book in the Harry Dresden series. We get introduced to 4, yes 4, types of werewolves. A bit confusing at first to get them straight. A series of murders have been committed around the full moon, and Harry needs to find out whodunnit before more people die. It's funny and sarcastic, there's tons of action and danger, a definite page turner. As a character, Harry's still got a lot of growing to do, but overall, enjoyable.
