R2 TEAM THREAD: Team #4 May the 4ce Be with You [THIRD PLACE]

I agree. It was nice seeing her snap out of it.

I agree. It was nice seeing her snap out of it."
And she gets stronger as the series continues. I'm on book 6 now, and still really enjoying them :)

I completed my "Part of Series" read, "City of Bones" by Cassandra Clare on March 8th. I have to say I liked this book so much that I have already started the second book!
I would rate this book 4.5/5
Despite very negative reviews, I would recommend this book to anyone.
I found this book a very good read. It was hard to put down! The characters were interesting and likeable; the storyline, full of twists and turns. I found myself saying "aha" numerous times. There was the right amount of excitement, romance, mystery and I was introduced to a new paranormal character, the "The shadowhunter" People with part angel blood that hunt and kill demons. I also liked that they worked alongside other paranormals to fight evil. The only thing that caught me off guard is the shifting werewolves. I am a huge Kelly Armstrong fan and am used to a definite and slower human to wolf transformation. I found myself doubting the ease of shifting with the wolves in this book. This however, is not enough to change my opinion of this novel. I really enjoyed the progression of Luke, the shadowhunter turned werewolf , who actually saves the day at the end of this book. I could go on and on, but want to keep this brief. The main thing, if you haven’t read this series, given this series a try. Just because people don’t like something, doesn’t mean you won’t love it!

I would like to read City of Ashes (Mortal Instruments #2) for my free space read. I started it this morning.

Hope everyone's enjoying their reads. :)

Totally enjoying book 2 of Mortal Instruments.
Also wanted to apologize for the typos in my review.
Hope everyone has a great day!

Jut wondering has anyone ever called in to work for the day off as sick so that they could stay at home and finish a book. I just need like 3 hours of no interruptions to finish my book. Absolutely love it.
Tania....liked your review....that was such a good book....I plan to read the second one soon....

Great reveiw Tania, I remember enjoying

@Zina, definitely tempted in the past.

I give it 4.5/5 stars.
What a roller coaster ride of a read. I was so engrossed with this book and actually the whole series. I would find myself thinking about Barrons and Mac during my day and trying to figure out the twists and turns. Oh my gosh there were so many. Who murdered her sister? Was always trying to guess but when it was revealed who it was I was sure that I had read it wrong. That sure did surprise me. At times I felt like there were two different people writing the story. Parts were like the other books in the series and then the parts when Mac was in the White Mansion and when she was conversing with the book certainly felt different. I will definitely read the series again. I bet the new series will be just as great.
Off to search my TBR pile for a free space read.

Vivian....my ultimate job would be to work in a library but I know I would probably get no work done and would be MIA among the stacks...
Tania....how are you liking City of Ashes?

Happy weekend to all!

Thanks for the well wishes. My brother has improved greatly in the last day and half. His BP is down to
127 over 69, sitting up. He's off the IV drip too. When he was admitted it was up to 201 over 100+ with bleeding in the brain. As recent as Wednesday it spiked up to 210+. He has another scan tomorrow to check out the areas that were bleeding and then maybe he can move out of critical care. Scary days, let me tell you.

Was definitely worried when I heard about the earthquake. Hope you stay safe :)

My best wishes to you, your dad, your brother and the rest of your family. All fingers & toes crossed.

I'll be reading either

I'll do a review this afternoon, as I really need to spend time with my family........ I've been neglecting them!
I can say that I will be giving it 5/5 and I agree when you guys said it was been better than the first!

Steph - Those books sound good too, darn you.
I'm gonna read

@Tania: The Mortal Instruments series IS pretty amazing. There's also a companion series called The Infernal Devices, although in my opinion, TMI is better.
I'll read

I completed my "Free Space" read, "City of Ashes" by Cassandra Clare on March 11th and would give it a rating of 5/5.
This book was so good; even better than the first instalment in the Mortal Instruments series. It was terribly hard to put down, heck I even stayed up till the wee hours reading it night after night. The characters continue to be interesting and likeable; the storyline, full of twists and turns. This book dug deeper into the lives and feelings of its major characters. I actually felt some weird emotional tie with the characters as I was reading. (I don’t want to spoil the book for those who have not read this book and/ or series yet) There was the right amount of excitement, romance, mystery, adventure and nail-biting situations. The characters from the first book in the series continue where they left off, and new and interesting characters were added to make things that much more enjoyable.
This book was awesome! I actually feel at a loss now that it’s over and pray that book 3 is on our Bingo shelf, if not I’ll have to rip myself away and start another series until this Bingo challenge is done. Nooooo!

That's such an exciting book. Enjoy, Zina! Barrons' history throughout the series takes on a whole new light after the revelations in that book. :)
